Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The morning had come and the ever blazing sun had graced the world of Remnant with its presence again. However, for one Ruby Rose, who didn't need to sleep but did so anyway, was grumbling at the offending sunlight that had shone directly upon her face. In the end, after contemplating whether to block out the sun and the consequences of such actions, Ruby Rose finally admitted defeat and got out of her bed groggily. After long boring actions of a usual morning ritual, she was ready with her signature red cloak over her clothes, which she picked up from her wardrobe. With all the preparation done, she opened the door and walked toward the kitchen.

She hummed in pleasure as the ever satisfying smell of a good dish wafted over her nose. When she entered the kitchens.

"Good morning, mom," Ruby greeted her mother as she took a seat at the diner table.

"Morning, Ruby, pancake?" She greeted Ruby back and asked her choice for breakfast.

"Pancake" is what Ruby cheerfully replied to her question.

"Just wait a moment, kiddo," Summer replied and continued to cook. After a few moments, they were ready as Summer positioned two plates. She placed pancakes on one of the plates and handed it to Ruby, who gleefully took the plate. Ruby grabbed the strawberry syrup and began pouring it on top of the pancake, like a strawberry flavour waterfall. Then, she began devouring the food in front of her earnestly.

Summer looked at her daughter eating and sighed happily. This was what she wanted for a long time, a family to be called her own, and she will do anything, ANYTHING to protect her Little Treasure. She also put her breakfast, a simple dish of eggs and bacon, into the plate before joining and sitting at the table with Ruby.

"Thank you for the breakfast," Ruby said after finishing the stacks of pancakes Summer had prepared for her. She shifted her feet a little in a nervous twitch, "I have something to tell you," she said after deliberating for five minutes while Summer was watching her with concern.

"What do you want to tell me, Little Treasure?" Summer asked while having a bad feeling in her heart. She hoped Ruby wasn't bullied or anything because if she was, Summer was totally going to scratch that elementary school off from the map.

"Well… it would be better to just show you," Ruby said and grabbed Summer's hand, and suddenly, they were in a field filled with myriads of flowers.

"Wha- where are we?" Summer asked in surprise.

"Welcome to my world, mom?" Ruby said in a dramatic pose.

"What did you mean by that?" Summer asked.

"Well, things are like this…," after a round of explanations regarding her powers, we now get a very, very confused Summer.

Summer held her forehead with her hands and exclaimed, "who was the idiot that thought it was a good idea to give you an almighty power?!"

"Hey!" Ruby protested. Summer patted Ruby's head.

"I am sorry Ruby, but you are not exactly the best person to gain this sort of power, this sort of responsibility. Due to Raven's influences, you don't exactly have the right sense of what was considered to be an acceptable amount of force," Summer shook her head and explained. In her mind, she sent a series of silent profanities toward the Branwen twins, who corrupted her baby girl.

"No way, aunt Raven, said that there is no problem that couldn't be blasted away," Ruby rebuked.

"Exactly what I was talking about," Summer sighed in exasperation. Out of all the bullshit ideals Brawens had, this had to be the one that stuck inside her little head.

"Anyway, you said you have something to show me?" Summer swiftly changed the subject, since Ruby could be pretty headstrong, and they could just be arguing here for hours.

"Oh yes, come with me, she was just right over here," Ruby said giddily. Summer followed her lead.

'Her? That was worrying. Did she kidnap some poor child? I can't tell for sure since she was grown up with that siblings. I knew my decisions on leaving Ruby with them when I was away on missions would bite me in the ass later on,' Summer thought in the safe confine of her mind just before her mind screeched to a halt as she took on the form of 'It'. She didn't know what it was but all of her instincts, her mind honed for years to sense danger, were screaming at her, to grab Ruby and run away, to tell Ruby to run away and to fight to the death with it. She could only barely restrain herself to not draw a weapon and hack 'it' to pieces after seeing Ruby happily introduce 'it' to her.

After hearing Ruby's explanation for what she was, Summer was speechless. Ruby had really outdone herself this time. Luna Omega Rose, a beautiful name so unbefitting for a killing weapon such as her. She knew from the start that whoever gave Ruby this power was an idiot. She just doomed an entire civilization for a foolish experiment and created a perfect weapon of war just for the sake of it. However, it was still okay since it was just Ruby. She won't know what to do if this power were to land on that scorpion faunus she was hunting down three weeks ago. She could already see the world going up in flames and since Remnant was still standing, it could be said that it was pretty good already.

"So… what do you think, mom?" Ruby asked with an innocent tone. Summer averted her eyes when Ruby looked at her with an expecting look. Summer knew what Ruby wanted, she wanted praise, for creating this killing machine. She wanted to admonish Ruby for it, but her eyes were irresistible. Summer decided that since the damage was already done, she should just do her best to contain it.

"She looked pretty good," Summer replied and Ruby preened at that, "however, we exactly didn't need a maid right now so how about you keep her here until you are old enough for high school?" Summer continued.

"But I wanted to use her right now. There are so many things I wanted to test right now. Like that molecular destabilizer inside her throat," Ruby pouted a little, but other than that she quickly accepted that.

Summer let out a sigh of relief, 'this would do for now. Hopefully, she would gain the wisdom necessary to wield this power as she grew older… hopefully'.
