After a long shower, she felt lucky enough, lucky enough to test her luck, and ran away from this madness.
She wasn't even going to wait for the right occasion because she trusted there was no better time than now.
Gwenivere tied her hair nimbly in a bun and later, wore a hat that was big enough to cover half her face, she wanted to leave the castle unseen so the last plan of her protocol was to wear Keane's clothes tying the trousers with a robe to maintain it in place since Keane seemed to be 10 times her size.
Once the transformation was completed, she stared at her reflection in the full-body mirror.
Well, if she didn't recognize herself she would have taken her reflection for somebody else, at least the facade worked with her and she expected it to do the same with everybody that passed her by when she strode outside the castle keeping her head low and her senses at alert. If she had to make it to the barn it was better to avoid eye contact with any passenger.
Everything seemed figured out, the main idea was to sneak into the barn and ride out of the alpha's domains as fast as time permitted her.
She could count on not crossing paths with Keane for she was told that the alpha never interrupted a combat training, and the training lasted long enough for her to have her way with every single thing she has planned. Gwenyvere saw the sun drawing her figure on the ground she was finally out of the castle.
The compound was full of people here and there making the task to find her way into the barn easier. At least so she had thought until she found herself in the middle of the battlefield where combat training was being held.
Gwenyvere paused for a moment, watching sneakily among the crowd in an attempt to spot the alpha in between the various men that were outrageously fighting each other in the spacious courtyard.
"Who are you?"
The voice came from behind her while trying not to look startled she hurriedly lowered her head pinching the ends of the hat and strode away from Keane's Gama pretending not to have heard him until she clumsily bumped into a hard wall. The impact almost made her lose equilibrium so she clung to the wall for live sake.
"Who are you?" Dereck asked once again growing impatient.
It happened to be that the wall Gwenyvere was embracing had the human figure that she would recognize even when asleep and that was quite a mystery to her, the fact that she seemed to know Kean's body perfectly.
The feeling of his eyes on her was confirmed when he deposited a sword in her hands and told Dereck to back off.
"Is combat training day and every male has to participate" Keane said to her firmly making sure she followed him to the center of the compound "Be on guard" every member stopped fighting and surrounded them leaving a spacious circle to carry out the fight "On guard, little one" Keane ordered firmly and Gwenyvere swallowed the bile in her throat as she hesitantly adopted the initial position that her uncle had thought her.
She didn't know what we're Keane's expectations but hers were to set herself free from him and she hoped Keane to be loyal to the sword he was holding.
The air grew thicker between them as Gwenyvere held the sword with two hands at the level of her cheeks and parted her legs one in front of the other.
What was she doing? Keane thought
After a long fight with his Gama, he had been knockdown when the air had filled his lungs with the familiar scent of lemons confusing all his senses at once. Even his wolf had been distracted looking for her among the crowd, only to see her dressed in his camisole and trousers, Keanne didn't know where she had stolen the hat from but he has been tempted to burst into laughter until he had come up with a better Idea.
"Dereck" the alpha nodded implying he was ready for the battle as he stood stiff and calm, he extended his sword behind him gracefully.
"Warriors...start!" Shouted Dereck.
Gwenyvere didn't hesitate, she urged herself forward aiming at Keane's arm but he dodged the attack easily standing right behind her. She turned around and attacked once again creating impact between their weapons, the clatter of their swords continued echoing around the area as she kept attacking Keane mercilessly fully concentrated on aiming at his leg after she had quickly dodged his assault, however; she only gave a mild cut to his abdomen for her opponent backed away on time.
The alpha was shirtless, so the blood coming from the cut right under his chest was notorious. In the corner of her eye, Gwenyvere saw Dereck ordering the warriors not to intervene. The man before her stumbled back and looked at his cut amusedly.
Apparently, Keane was even crazier than she had thought and the fact that he smiled at her was inciting a stronger feeling to fill his body of cuts.
Rage wasn't a good instrument to fight with for it could blind your senses and it was exactly the advantage Keane took of Gwenyvere, he dodged her attack and kicked her buttocks, now he was again behind her; he couldn't help to grin when she sobbed the area, she was supposed to start another attack but this time he wanted to go first, so he attacked brandishing his sword against hers as he would normally do in an assault and soon her sword fell away. Next thing she started to back away looking at her sides in search of a new defense mechanism.
He purposely stabbed the air and as a result of that Gwenyvere fell to the ground, knowing she would be discovered she managed not to utter any word however she was on the horns of a dilemma for Keane wouldn't be so harsh on her if he knew her real identity but she wasn't about to risk her strongly built façade.
So, if he had thought she was to surrender he was mistaken, he would have to end this himself.
Keane poked the hat on her head with his sword and it fell off revealing her hair and face.
"Going somewhere ?" he asked her fuming in anger and the crowd went quiet staring at the scene with bewilderment in their faces.
