Chapter 39 - The long conversation with my parent

"WHAT IS THIS, NANCY?" my mum hollers as she fixes her angry gaze at me, I have been caught.

When my mum was about to leave my room, she bend down to pick up my morning coat that was laying on the floor and she mistakenly spotted a bottle under my bed.

She picked it up and when she realized it was my medication she roared. Oh no, heaven is going to break loose today. I haven't been taking it for quite some time now.

"Nancy, I ask again, why is this under your bed?" She shook her head and was about to place it back in the cabinet. I let out a relief sign geez she didn't notice it was still not open. Oh my God, she did, when she found out it was still untouched.

"Have you been skipping your medication again?" she nagged looking at me with her bulging eyes.

"Mum please stop yelling, I'm fine and besides it doesn't even work anymore," I whimpered.

"What! Since when? Why haven't you told us anything Nancy?" my mum shrieked her voice was shivering and there was a hint of anger and pain in her voice.

Fighting to hold back her tears she sniffed and called my father

"Travis, come to Nancy's room right now?" She croaks.

"Cindy, what is it? Why are you yelling on top of your voice?" My dad rushed to my room, he thought someone was dying he let out a relief when he noticed both of us were fine.

"Look at this?" My mum turns to face him, shoving the medicine bottle into his hands.

"Nancy is still skipping her medication, I told you but you didn't believe me," my mum yelled.

"Now see for yourself," she growled.

My dad was speechless for a while. I buried my head in my palm.

My father was still holding the bottle in his hands. He was disappointed and I could see that in his eyes.

"Why?.. Why Nancy?.. Why are you skipping your medication? What is the matter princess? Talk to me," my dad sputtered even though he was trying to remain calm.

"Dad, it doesn't help, it still hurt badly. The pain doesn't stop. What is the point of taking it, when it doesn't help stop the pain?" I finally let out a whim.

"W..what do you mean? Since when? Why haven't you told us anything?" My dad repeated my mum's exact words.

"I didn't want to be a burden any more dad, since I was little, for as far as I can remember we have been in and out of hospitals upon hospitals. Enough dad," I sniffed.

"What do you mean a burden? We are your parents and whatever that has to do with you is our top priority," my dad whispered.

"I'm sorry dad, the pain never stops and it's always hurt, this medication what are they for? I have a few days to turn 18, can someone tell me what is really wrong with me? What are all these medications for? And why are they not even making me get any better?" I paused turning to face them.

"You want to know since when right? For a very, very long time now," I let out a whimper and cried.

My dad had tears in his eyes.

"Princess," he said as he runs to hug me.

"Dad, can you tell me what is really happening? I have the right to know. I'm not a child anymore. I need answers dad," I said pulling myself away from his embrace.

"Else I'm going to find them out myself, in my own way," I threatened. They know they can't keep quiet any longer.

"Alright... Fine... get dressed then, we need to go somewhere," my dad shrugs.

"No Travis please," my mum held his arm to bring him back to his senses.

"D..dad, I'm not going to the hospital," I stammered.

"No princess, we are going to the lab. I need to show you something," my dad whispered.

It means that all this research has to do with my illness. Amazing, so I'm the cause and the reason for their inhuman acts.

I don't know what else they are hiding, this is just too much.

"Dad, does this have anything to do with you torturing werewolves and vampires? Is it all part of the experiments? Your secret research?"

"Nancy..."

"Just answer me, dad, what the hell is going on?" I cried.

"Fine you are sick. Very sick, are you need a cure and I have been waiting patiently for the past 17 years to find a cure but no, there is no cure for you Nancy. I need to find another way. I need to save you and I'm going to do that, no matter what it takes and I don't care how, as long as you get saved,"

"Does that include you doing illegal things dad? Just stop this already. I'll just accept my fate whatever that may be. You have tried everything and none is working. Why don't you just stop already?" I whimper.

"No way Nancy I have come way too long to stop. I'm not stopping now," my dad yells.

My mum could only watch us in tears. She was scared about how I was going to take it but after everything I've experienced these past days, I think I have been prepared for this conversation.

"Dad, please I want you to stop. I don't want you to get into trouble," I cried. Knowing the werewolf packs will come for revenge if any of their pack members are hurt.

Now I feel stupid for letting Baby in our house and on dad's secret research. Is he capable of hurting my dad? No way, I won't let that happen. I fear for my father's life.

"That is for me to worry about Nancy, all you need to do is to take care of yourself, now that you know everything you need to take extra precautions. I will change your medications to something stronger." My dad whispers, there was no need going to lab since I already know everything, but I bet it's worse then I thought since mum got nervous when my dad suggest of taking me there.

"Dad I don't need them," I let out a chuckle. What can I do to make him stop?

"Yes you do Nancy and we're going to find a permanent cure for that poison, believe me, princess," my dad gulped.

"Poison?"

{Hey author here, all this while Nancy has been suffering from a strange sickness, we thought she was born with it but it happen someone deliberately poisoned her, but who will do that to a poor baby and why? well, we will find out in the next chapters.}
