Obviously, Riku had the upper hand in his battle with the Devolk Mantis. Every time he swung his weapon directly at the monster, the only thing could do by the Mantis was received his attack while forcing stepping back.
Apart from that, Riku used his [Spider web] skill to give the monster a limited area where it can move. Yes, it was given the monster had extraordinary speed, so it was way better if there was something that could slow down its movements.

In Riku's last attack, the monster was sent into the mid-air after he swung his claws upward and hit the monster's chest. Also, he could see how the monster's chest was slowly melting because of the tremendous sharpness and fire of his claws.

The Mantis fell to the ground, then started to make weird noises. At first, Riku thought that the monster was just coughing since he utilized a lethal blow. However, his perception changed when he realized something wasn't right.
