Year 584, New World
It took a while for Virgo Miragwynn to snap out of her state of shock. After the black ashes from Sirius's spell disappeared, he turned to his tutor and grinned.
"Y...Y...Y...You...Primal..." she stumbled.
Shaking herself back into reality, Virgo stood up and declared
"You still lack mana control. You are releasing far too much at such a fast rate, and are wasting a large quantity since your wand cannot keep up with the rate of conversion of mana into form for such a powerful spell."
She looked at Sirius and considered him.
"Can you do normal Fotia magic as well?"
The boy smiled and held up his wand with a tiny flame at the tip.
"Good. I forbid you to use your primordial magic until you can correctly control it. you will only use..."
"But, why." interrupted Sirius "its powerful enough, isn't it?"
"That's the problem. I can see that you lost a significant amount of mana with that one spell which means to keep using it would put you in danger. You will only use the colour of the ancient when I say it is safe to do so. Your mana will grow exponentially as you age, if enough practice is done of course so you should be able to use it soon."
Virgo walked towards Sirius.
"But for now, I will teach you a new incantation. I will show you once, try and replicate it afterwards with NORMAL Fotia magic."
She clutched her sceptre with both hands and pointed it towards the sky.
"Lafire"
A swirl of red hot flames appeared. The fire was smooth and refined, where one could not tell if it were a scorching inferno, or a pure red pillar of glittering marble.
"Alright. Your turn"
Sirius tried to recall the shape of the refined flame that just came out of his teacher's sceptre. Brimming with confidence, he pointed his wand upwards and called out "Lafire"
The orange flames that appeared where not elegant in any nature. It was a mess of random swirls, resembling more of a campfire than a smooth pillar of inferno.
Virgo sighed
"Well, it's a good start. I'm honestly surprised a kid like you could do it at all since its a classed spell"
Confused, Sirius asked "Classed Spell?"
"Spells are ranked in classes. F, being the lowest and least powerful to D, then C, B, A and S. S class spells are by far the most powerful. Each country only has about 4 or 5 magicians capable of doing them."
She looked Sirius in the eyes and said "The spell you just did before was F class, and one of the easiest spells to master."
Sirius contemplated this. He had thought he was powerful, strong, capable. He had thought magic was easy to master. He had thought he was special. Now he compared himself to someone like Virgo Miragwynn and felt for the first time in his life, weak, feeble, puny.
