"What?!" Genevieve shouted as she stood up from the seat in shock. Every single eye in the cafeteria turned towards the two girls. Elisa pulled Genevieve down as she sat back, still in a shock.
"You-You're getting married!!!?" Genevieve whisper-yelled as Elisa shut her eyes in irritation before pressing her hand over Genevieve's mouth.
"Will you lower your voice?!" Elisa whispered angrily as Genevieve nodded.
Elisa released her and sat back to her position before letting out a frustrated sigh.
"You're getting married? That too, in three days?! That's not right. You're just nineteen! How can Uncle do this? This ain't right, absolutely not right! I'm gonna talk to him" Genevieve said and stood up but Elisa held her hand.
"What are you gonna talk about? He didn't listen to his own blood or his love. What makes you think he'll listen to you" Elisa said, crossing her hands over her chest as Genevieve sat back.
"Plus the fact that he hates me" Genevieve said whereas Elisa stayed silent.
"So what are you going to do now?" Genevieve asked as Elisa looked at her.
"What can I do?" Elisa asked.
"You are today's era's strongest mage out there. You can control the whole world and here you are letting your father control your life. You are a fourth tier mage! That's a really high rank!" Genevieve exclaimed.
"I'm a f- Leave it...What's the point?" Elisa sighed, confusing Genevieve.
There are five tiers of rank for every species that evolves magic, such as mages, wizards and witches. The first tier is novice who start learning theory, second tier is for beginners who start doing practical, the third tier is intermediate, fourth tier is Expert which is a high level rank and the last is Master, which not many can achieve.
Elisa became a fourth tier mage last year, at the age of eighteen, which itself was a first act in history becoming another reason for her fame. Whereas other species such as werewolves or vampires, are ranked by their strengths, abilities and bloodline which somehow apply to human species as well.
*Ring*
The bell rang indicating break time was over and students should head to their respective classes.
"I really don't want to go~" Genevieve whined as Elisa chuckled and asked, "When do you really want to go to class?"
Genevieve laughed and said, "Never"
Elisa also laughed and got up.
"You're really going to your mana command class?" Genevieve asked as Elisa shook her head.
"I don't need these classes. Coming to university is just an excuse to stay away from all the drama at home. And after this marriage stuff, I had to apply for an early graduation which I guarantee will be accepted" Elisa said as Genevieve slowly nodded her head.
"So where are you heading?" Genevieve asked.
"I'm going to that oldie" Elisa said as Genevieve let out a laugh.
"You both are really something. None of you call each other with normal names. Your interactions are worth watching. I really wanna go with you." Genevieve said as Elisa also laughed.
"You can't. Now go to your potion making class before Mrs. Fren kicks you out of the class, again" Elisa said and laughed as reality hit Genevieve.
"Oh yeah! That witch is a real witch! I have to go! See you after class! Okay! bye bye bye bye!" Genevieve exclaimed, running towards her class as Elisa laughed and turned to go to the person she was eager to meet from the day she got to know about her marriage.
-Inside Mr. Wilson's Cabin-
*Knock Knock*
"Come in" an old voice called out. The door creaked open revealing Mr. Ryatil, the University's President.
"Mr. Wilson, Have you gone through the files I gave you earlier?" he asked after entering the room.
"Not yet," Mr. Wilson replied.
"Oh? Then would you please go through them because it's urgent" Mr. Ryatil requested. Mr. Wilson sighed and nodded.
"Is something the issue? You seem tense?" Mr. Ryatil asked.
"Yeah. I've had this strange feeling since earlier. I don't know what it is but it definitely isn't pleasant" Mr. Wilson replied.
"What? Really? Then we shou-"
*Bang*
"Yo! Wassup oldie boy!!" Elisa exclaimed barging into the room but paused when a shocked Mr. Ryatil came to her sight.
"Ah? M-Mr. Ryatil? Hi?" Elisa said, awkwardly.
"This was the strange feeling I was talking about earlier" Mr. Wilson whispered before continuing to arrange his papers.
"Ms. Shizwell? What are you doing here?" Mr. Ryatil questioned as Elisa smiled awkwardly.
"Um...I- uh...I...came...here to..." Elisa was saying in broken words, not knowing how to reply to the President of the University.
"I called her," Mr. Wilson said without looking ahead.
"You?" Mr. Ryatil questioned as Mr. Wilson nodded.
"Yes! He called me! Yeah." Elisa added to which Mr. Ryatil looked at her suspiciously.
"I get it but Ms. Shizwell, even though you have applied for an early graduation that doesn't mean you can skip classes. Whether you are 4th tier mage or a novice, rules are rules!" Mr. Ryatil said sternly and opened his mouth to continue further but got cut off by Mr. Wilson.
"If you are done. Please take your leave. I have some words to share with my apprentice" Mr. Wilson said sternly. Mr. Ryatil gulped and nodded.
"I'll be taking my leave then" Mr. Ryatil said and headed towards the door.
'Even the President of Saint Glasil University can not speak in front of my oldie,' Elisa giggled.
Mr. Ryatil left the room and closed the door. But before he leave towards his office he mumbled one thing under his breath,
"Why did he call her his apprentice?"
*Click*
"So! How you doing, Santa Claus?" Elisa said plopping on the couch nearby.
"I was doing pretty well until you came into my life" he said, arranging his files. Elisa sat up straight, getting a little offended.
"What? You should be thankful that I'm a part of your life. There are people who would die just to shake my hand" Elisa said and again laid back on the couch.
"Mhm~" Mr. Wilson hummed in response.
"You are so ungrateful. You have such a mighty entity as your apprentice and you? So bad, tch tch, right?...Master." Elisa said.
Mr. Wilson paused for a second and looked at Elisa before throwing a cloth at her face.
"What? What's this? Is this how you treat people? Grandmaster! That's too rude! You know that?!" Elisa complained as Mr. Wilson chuckled before saying,
"Are you done complaining?", Elisa glared at him for a bit before nodding.
"Great. Now go and dust off those shelves while I'm arranging these files" Mr. Wilson ordered.
"Great~ Now go and dust off those shelves while I'm arranging these files~" Elisa mimicked him before heading to the antique shelves that were full of antique books.
Hanul Wilson, the Grand Master of Amrell town, a fifth tier Wizard and also Elisa's Master who has taken Elisa as an apprentice ever since she started to feel mana. He was her first teacher, friend and supporter. He understood Elisa in a way no other could. He is someone who is close to Elisa's heart.
He has great authority. He is the Grand Master of the Magic Tower where wizards and witches train after graduating. He is well-respected among every species. He is over five hundred years old and since he is a fifth tier wizard, he will die only on the day he'll lose all his magic and cultivation, which is something every fifth tier mage, wizard or witch faces. They have to maintain their cultivation if they wish to live long whereas the other tiers don't live past hundred and fifty.
Mr. Wilson has been with Elisa through every phase of her life. No one is aware of the fact that Elisa is his apprentice except for a few since it might become troublesome to him but everyone knows that she has a special bond with him. Elisa is closer to him more than her own family and they have quite an interesting relationship which is worth the hype.
"So what brought you here?" Mr. Wilson asked.
"Oh? I came here to give you some news?" Elisa replied while cleaning books individually.
"What news? You're getting married or what?" Mr. Wilson asked.
"How did you know?!" Elisa exclaimed as she aggressively hit the shelf with cloth, causing dust to blow up.
"What? Really?!" Mr. Wilson exclaimed in shock as he jolted his head towards Elisa but widened his eyes when he saw Elisa almost about to die while coughing her lungs out.
He flicked his fingers as Elisa stopped coughing and sat on the ground to catch her breath.
"Geez, for how long have you not cleaned this shelf?" Elisa asked as Mr. Wilson passed her bottle of water.
"Fifty, I guess," Mr. Wilson answered. Elisa looked at him in disbelief.
"Fifty days?! You dirty old man!" Elisa said as she shook her head before proceeding to drink her water.
"No,...Fifty years"
*Puffff*
Elisa spat out the water as she choked over it and started to cough hysterically.
"What? *cough* f-fif *cough* fifty years?!!" Elisa asked as she hit her chest, trying to calm down her coughs. Mr. Wilson again flicked his fingers as Elisa calmed down.
"Fifty years? Geez, old man. There is a limit to dirtiness. Are you aware of that?" Elisa said as she stood up.
"I never had the time. Even today I asked you to clean it. And I'm not dirty. My whole room is pitch clean because I just have to flick my finger to clean it" Mr. Wilson said as he flicked his finger as the mess in the room got cleaned up itself.
"So can't you clean this shelf also? With the flick of your finger?" Elisa said as she flick her finger, imitating her Master's action.
"No I can't," he said as he sat on the couch.
"Why?" Elisa asked, sitting in front of him.
"Because these are ancient books which react to magic. I can not carelessly use magic on them" he explained as Elisa made an O-shaped face.
"What if you do?" she asked, curiously.
"Every book has different reactions. In my trainee days, I once used magic on an ancient book" he said as Elisa supported her face in between her hands which were supported by her elbows on her knees.
"Then?" She asked, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Then? Nothing much. The book self-destructed, causing the whole experiment lab to blow up resulting in detention for three months and help in labour for the reconstruction of the lab. That's it." He said as Elisa stared at him for a moment before...
"Pfft...Bwahahaha!! Gosh Oldie!! Hahahaha!! You were really something!! Hahaha" Elisa said in between her laughter whereas Mr. Wilson just smiled at her.
"Oh yeah? What were you talking about earlier? What marriage?" Mr. Wilson asked as Elisa stopped laughing upon her the word 'Marriage'.
