THE NEXT MORNING
LAN QIREN'S ROOM
Lan Qiren was in deep thoughts when he heard a knock on his door.
"Your Highness, Jiang Fengmian is requesting to see you." The forerunner said.
"Allow him." Lan Qiren replied.
A few minutes later,the door opens and Jiang Fengmian enters the room.
"What is the situation in the meeting room?" Lan Qiren asks as he looks outside the window.
"Sir, most of the elders are already here. " Jiang Fengmian said.
"Hmm.. okay." Lan Qiren said.
"Sir, what are you thinking about? Are you thinking about the death of your brother and your sister-in-law? "Jiang Fengmian said.
"I just feel that their death is not that simple. Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze sacrificed their lives to stop the 100 years war. So why would the Jin and the Wen clans suddenly decide to start a war for no reason? What exactly are they trying to achieve?"Lan Qiren said.
"Hmm you are right. This is indeed fishy. Do you want me to investigate? "Jiang Fengmian said.
"Yes. Report to me immediately if you find anything." Lan Qiren said.
"Yes, your Highness. I shall take my leave." Jiang Fengmian said as he bowed and left the room immediately.
After Jiang Fengmian has left, Lan Qiren decides to go to his nephew's room.
When Lan Qiren went to his nephew's rooms, he expected them to be awake but instead when he entered their rooms, nobody was inside or to be more specific, nobody slept on the bed at all.
These two rascals, where could they have gone?
Lan Qiren quickly leaves the room and goes to the place that he thinks that his nephews would be, his brother's and sister-in-law's room.
The moment he arrived at their room, he smiled as he saw that his nephews were leaning onto each other while sound asleep.
"Xichen, it's time to wake up" Lan Qiren said as he quietly patted on Lan Xichen to wake him up.
"Uncle… Wangji wasn't in his room, and found him outside the room crying.
Lan Qiren didn't say anything but instead he quietly carried Lan Wangji to his room.
"Xichen go get ready. We are going to have a council meeting with the elders and the Jiang family." Lan Qiren said as he put Lan Wangji onto his bed.
"Yes uncle." Lan Xichen said.
COUNCIL MEETING ROOM
"Why did that bastard summoned all of us including that stinky human?" One of the elders said as he gave a nasty look at Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan's direction.
"Announcing the arrival of His Majesty Lan Xichen, King of the Lan Clan and Your Highness, Royal Uncle of Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji." said the forerunner as they opened the door.
Once the door opened, Lan Xichen walked in followed by Lan Qiren.
Lan Xichen sat on the coronation chair while Lan Qiren sat at the seat next to the young king.
"Your Highness, may I know why you called all of us for a meeting?" One of the elders said.
"As you all know, my brother and my sister-in-law had died tragically and therefore Lan Xichen, the first prince of Lan Clan will be proclaimed as the new king. However, due to the fact that Lan Xichen is still young, I will act as his advisor. Any objections?" Lan Qiren said.
Everyone didn't dare to say anything.
"No objections? Great. Let's begin the meeting shall we?" Lan Qiren said with a smirk.
LAN WANGJI'S ROOM
"Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan open the door! We are here to see you." The voice said softly while knocking onto the door continuously.
Lan Wangji sometimes wished he wasn't a vampire. Yes being a vampire has its perks but yet it has a disadvantage which is super hearing ability.
"Wei Ying, stop banging on the door. The vampire is probably ignoring you." A voice said.
"No way Allora, Lan Zhan will not ignore us. We are his friends". Wei Ying said.
"Who wants to be friends with a vampire? Whatever I am leaving." Allora said as she walked away.
"Allora…" Jiang Yanli said.
"Jie, just let her go. And Sky, please make sure your sister doesn't start any fight." Jiang Cheng said.
"HEY SIS WAIT UP!" Sky said as he chased after Allora.
"Lan Zhannnnnnn. Open the door please." Wei Wuxian said.
Lan Wangji couldn't take it anymore. He got out of bed, and opened the door.
"Lan Zhan, you finally opened the door. " Wei Wuxian said as he entered the room.
Lan Wangji didn't say anything and just silently listened to the blabbing Wei Wuxian .
"Shut up Wei Wuxian!" Jiang Cheng said.
"Jie, A-Cheng is being mean to me." Wei Wuxian said while pouting.
Jiang Yanli didn't say anything but gave both of them a look.
"Wangji, I boiled some lotus soup for you. Have it while it's hot." Jiang Yanli said as she started pouring the soup into the bowl.
Lan Wangji didn't say anything but took the bowl from Jiang Yanli and started drinking the soup.
SOMEWHERE IN THE CASTLE
"Sis! Wait for me!" Sky shouted as he followed Allora around the castle.
"Stop following me Sky! Leave me alone!" Allora said as she continued to walk even faster.
LAN WANGJI'S ROOM
Lan Wangji didn't say anything but listen to Wei Wuxian babbling.
But as he listened to Wei Wuxian babbling, he could hear a ticking sound. He has no idea where the sound came from but he was sure that it's the sound of a bomb.
Without saying anything, he dashed out of the room.
"Wangji, where are you going?" Jiang Yanli asks as she sees Lan Wangji suddenly dashing out.
HALLWAY OF THE CASTLE
Lan Wangji followed the ticking sound and saw that Allora and Sky were heading to where the bomb was.
He quickly ran towards them and pushed them away and covered them.
As soon as he did that, the bomb went off.
"You saved us? Why?" Allora and Sky asked in confusion.
"Friends." Lan Wangji said.
