On our way to India, I was playing my 3DS. I was sitting in one of the seats of the Albiore II. Ryo was sitting right next to me, relaxing. Soon I heard his stomach growl. That woke him up. That too surprised me. "I'm hungry. Let's have lunch," he said to Noelle. "We'll have lunch as soon as we land and find a restaurant in India," Noelle said. We made it to Delhi (the capital of India) and found a McDonald's. We went inside. There wasn't much of a line. Then we were first in line. "Hello. Welcome to McDonald's. How may I help you?" said the cashier. The cashier was a man. Genis and Ryo began to laugh. Raine popped Genis in head and Sheena shook Ryo. "Genis, that wasn't very polite," Raine scolded to her little brother. Then Sheena stopped shaking Ryo so someone like Natalia could scold him. "Ryo, don't you know that it's rude to laugh at other people's voices?" cried Natalia. "But their accents are so funny," Ryo said. Then Raine popped him in the head. "Oh, goodness," said the cashier, blushing. I could tell he was embarrassed. "We're sorry about that," Raine said. Natalia and I agreed. I ordered a cheese burger with ketchup only. "We're sorry. We don't serve any beef in India," said the cashier. "Why not?" Anise asked. "Because cows are too sacred to slaughter in India because most people in India are Hindus like me," said the cashier. Ryo and Genis tried their hardest not to laugh. They were softly snickering with their hands covering their mouths. They were trying not to laugh at the cashier's voice. Poor man. I mean I feel pretty sorry for him because his accent was being laughed at. "Ok, I guess I'll have a bacon ranch salad with ranch and a grilled chicken patty," I said. I love grilled chicken patties but I'm not a very big fan of salads. After everyone had their lunch, we found a tour guide in the city. "We're looking for the Serpent Deity in nearby ruins," Jade said to the tour guide. "Beware. Kaa the snake and Shere Khan the tiger are lurking in those ruins. Watch out," said the tour guide. "Hey, Jade. I remember that giant cobra in the Great Sphinx," Lloyd said. I remembered that cobra and how Ion killed it. Then a huge tiger came and pounced on me and knocked me down. That also scared me. I was between the tiger's front legs. "Look there! It's Shere Khan," cried the tour guide. Shere Khan must have been the tiger. Shere Khan moaned and chuffed at me. That eased me and put a small smile on my face. "Wow. That's unusual," said the tour guide, slowly walking towards the tiger. Then the tiger let out a loud roar. That scared me and everyone else (my party) and the other people around. I assumed that Shere Khan was a male. Then Shere Khan went back to moaning and chuffing. He even cheek-rubbed me in the face. I slowly stroked him in the head. He seemed to like that. After stroking him, I asked Mieu to speak with Shere Khan. "Yes, ma'am," Mieu said. He hopped in front of the tiger. "Mieu mieu mieu mieu mieu," Mieu cried. Shere Khan moaned at Mieu. "Shere Khan said 'I hate to bother you guys, but what are you doing?'" Mieu said. "We're looking for the golden Serpent Deity in nearby ruins," Tenebrae said. "But the tour guide told us to watch out for Kaa the snake," I said. Shere Khan replied with a moan. "Shere Khan says 'I can help you defeat Kaa the snake'," Mieu said. We walked to the ruins. In front of the ruins were Indian fig trees. Shere Khan came with us. We walked into the ruins, which was an ancient Hindu temple. Raine was in her 'ruin mode' again. "Why does she like ruins so much and what's so great about ruins anyway?" Anise asked. "Ruins could be great proof of ancient religions in the past," I said to her. And Genis told Anise why his sister loved ruins so much. "Isn't Raine carrying this a little too far? I think we've visited too many ruin sites," Jade said. "She sure seems carried away," Ryo said. While Raine babbled about the statues and pottery, the rest of us looked around. Then Raine found a wall painting that shows us a warning. "This wall painting must mean this temple is infested with-" Raine said and paused at the sound of a monkey screeching from above me. The monkey must have been falling from above because I heard the screeching from above me and a small monkey landed on top of my head. "Temple monkeys," Raine and Anise said together. Raine said it with an adoring manner and Anise said it with surprise. "Man. This place actually could be monkey-infested," Zelos said. "Oy," I said. Then the monkey got off of my head and climbed up Anise to get her doll. "Hey! Get off of me," Anise cried. Presea grabbed the monkey and it grabbed Anise's doll. "Let go of Tokunaga! Mama gave me that," Anise cried, grabbing her doll from the monkey. "Tokunaga?" I asked. When the monkey released the doll, Anise told me her doll's name was Tokunaga. When the monkey let go of Tokunaga, Presea dropped the monkey so it wouldn't attack her as easily. The monkey screeched and jumped with rage. Then I remembered the Indian fig trees. "Ryo, go get some fruit for the monkey! Please, hurry," I cried. "Right away," Ryo said running out of the ruins. Mieu wanted to calm the monkey by talking to it. Then when Ryo came back with figs, he saw the monkey jumping on top of Mieu, pulling his ears. Poor Mieu. "Miiiiiiieeeeuuu," Mieu whined. Ryo grabbed the monkey and it let go of Mieu. I picked up Mieu, trying to comfort him by stroking him. "Mieu, are you okay?" Luke asked. "I'm fine now. Thanks to Kaede's comfort," Mieu said, hopping out of my arms. "Kaede, you're nice," Luke said. "I don't approve of animal cruelty. I love animals, especially felines," I said. Shere Khan chuffed. "I not only have a soft spot for animals. I'm mostly kind to the dead and to cute guys like you, Luke," I said. Luke blushed and Tear grabbed me by the arm again. "Kaede, I met Luke before you did," Tear growled to me. Then Natalia broke us up. "What's going on?" Ryo asked. He was feeding the monkey. I wanted to feed the monkey so Ryo put the monkey down and gave me a fig. I gave it to the monkey. Soon we saw lots of other monkeys. They were every where! "Eep," Ryo said, dropping the figs. Then the monkeys ran towards the figs that he dropped. Shere Khan let out a loud roar, scaring the monkeys out of our way. We moved on deeper into the temple. We had to fight a bunch of snakes on our way. Soon we heard Natalia scream. We looked to see why she was screaming. We saw a giant snake coiled around Ion. It began to suffocate him. I assumed the snake was Kaa. "Let him go," I cried to the big snake. Kaa hissed and striked at me. Before he could bite me, I scratched him across the nose and knifed and bit the snake in the side. "Kaede, you animal," Tear said. Then the snake picked me up by biting me in my side and dropped me. "Kaede," Regal cried, catching me in the air. Then Shere Khan pounced on the giant snake, killing Kaa. The monkeys started to cheer. Regal put me down on my back. "Good thing Kaa was a non venomous snake," Ryo said. Raine came to help me. She lifted my shirt up and put her staff top above my wound and it started to glow green. My wound healed fast do to the magic that Raine used on me. She told me that my wound was deep. I got up and pulled my shirt down after my wound was fully healed. The monkey that we fed gave us the golden Serpent Deity. The monkey smiled as it gave us the statue. I gently grabbed it from the monkey. The monkey seemed happy. Shere Khan helped Ion free himself from the dead snake's grasp. "Shere Khan, thank you for saving my life," Ion said, petting the tiger. The tiger moaned and Ion came to me. "Kaede, thank you for attempting to save me," Ion said. "You're welcome," I said. Then Shere Khan moaned at me. "Shere Khan says 'please be careful next time you try to save someone'," Mieu said. "I should be careful next time," I said, petting the tiger. Then I heard the pharaoh's voice again. "The next treasure is the bronze leopard. It's located in El Castillo in Chichen Itza at Mexico," King Tutankhamen said. Raine got excited. Chichen Itza was once a capital city of the ancient Mayan empire. I'm assuming we had to go into a pyramid.
