Chapter 9 - The Alchemist Guild

Under the dim lighting, it was not easy to read Ye Shu's expression. Chu Yao's heart was in turmoil as her countenance changed.

Ye Shu's eyes flickered slightly. She looked at the jade pendant on Chu Yao's waist quietly. It was a jade green jade with flowing lights. It was obvious that it was an extraordinary item.

After a while, the corners of her eyes curled up, and her clear eyes had an evil glint. "Sure, I have a condition."

Chu Yao returned to her elegant self and smiled, "Young Lady, please go ahead and state your condition."

"I want that jade pendant on your waist."

Chu Yao was a tad surprised, and she looked at Ye Shu with more admiration. She gently said, "You are also someone who knows what's good for you." Her expression was indistinct, but there seemed to be a tinge of nostalgia.

Ye Shu was a little puzzled, but she smiled without batting an eyelid. "I like this jade pendant a lot. I wonder if Young Mistress can part with it?"

"Of course. Since Young Lady has an affinity with this jade pendant, I will gift it to you." She removed the jade pendant and passed it to Ye Shu with a calm expression.

Seeing that she agreed without any hesitation, Ye Shu mumbled to herself, "Is this jade fake?" She had originally taken a fancy to this jade pendant and seemed to have a connection with Chu Yao. She had been afraid that she would need to spend more time to talk Chu Yao into giving it to her.

After receiving it, she examined it carefully. The jade pendant in her hand was warm and cool. The carvings on it looked as if they were about to fly to the ninth heaven. When Ye Shu wanted to take a closer look, she could not examine it clearly. It was as if it was shrouded in a layer of fog.

"It did not look like a fake."

She put away the jade pendant and raised her head to look at Chu Yao. The corners of her eyes were like crescent moons, making her look like a fox. Although Chu Yao was smiling, her heart was pounding.

"Young Mistress, you are also a discerning person. The purer the medicinal liquid, the more beneficial it is to the growth of cultivation. I believe you already know the value of it."

Ye Shu smiled. "You can determine the price."

Chu Yao let out a sigh of relief. She didn't lack money.

With a spell, a pouch appeared in her hand. Said with a smile, "Young lady, there are 50,000 gold coins, the herbs you want, and the badge of the Alchemist Guild. You can check the contents."

Ye Shu casually kept the waist token and carefully looked at the pouch which was the size of half a palm.

Chu Yao's elegant smile was about to fall off her face. Her body twitched slightly. There were so many people in the Southern Dynasty who were begging to enter the Alchemist Guild, but Ye Shu didn't care for it at all.

Could those tens of thousands of gold coins be more important than the waist token of the Alchemist Guild?

Ye Shu did not notice her expression. She played with the storage bag in her hand and saw that it was dark and slightly petite. She looked at it curiously and stretched out her hand to find that there was indeed more to the pouch. The piles of gold coins were shining brightly.

Ye Shu's eyes flashed as she curled her lips and played with the storage bag in her hand. "50,000 gold coins is enough to buy the next mansion. The Young Mistress is indeed willing to part with her money."

Chu Yao smiled. "No, it's because your medicinal liquid is worth this price."

Ye Shu put away the pouch. "Since that's the case, I won't stand on ceremony with you." After saying goodbye to Chu Yao, she stood up and left.

Chu Yao's smile faded as she watched Ye Shu leave. She looked at the medicinal formula in her hand. Under the dim light, her expression was dark.

Someone walked out from the shadows. It was a young master in a white robe. His voice was low and pleasant to the ears.

"I didn't think that the famous Iron Rooster would be willing to pluck its feathers. These few medicinal herbs are worth quite a lot. Just the icicle grass inside cost a lot of manpower and resources to obtain from the land of extreme cold. The other medicinal herbs are even more so… Are you really willing to give it to her just like that?"

Chu Yao said indifferently, "Don't forget, not only am I the boss of the Hundred Herbs Hall, but I'm also a dealer. Dealers all seek profit." She played with the medicinal formula in her hand. The medicinal fragrance on it refreshed the heart and mind. Suddenly, Chu Yao laughed lightly.

"Do you think that the person who can afford these medicinal ingredients is an ordinary person?"

That young master hesitated, "What do you mean?"

She focused her gaze, her eyes dark and deep. Her lips parted slightly as she slowly spoke her conjecture. "I guess she's an alchemist."

"What kind of joke are you playing?!" He sneered, clearly not believing her words. "Chu Yao, don't speak nonsense. Alchemists are extremely talented, and even in that place, they are of supreme existence, let alone in this barren lower realm! Not a single one has appeared in the last thousand years!"

Chu Yao raised her phoenix eyes slightly. "Have you forgotten that there was once one?"

The young master thought of that mysterious and peerlessly beautiful woman; she had once shaken mountains and overturned seas by herself. She had not retreated even a single inch under the siege of the ten great se

He felt a chill and took a deep breath. His eyes were filled with respect as he berated in a low voice, "Are you crazy? That person is a taboo in the lower realm."

But Chu Yao didn't care. She played with the jade bottle in her hand and suddenly laughed. "Go give this to the High Lord. He'll definitely be pleasantly surprised."
