When Nathan looked down at the sleeping mess on the bed which seemed so care free he could not help but smile sweetly. He hadn't smiled like that in a really long time. It took him a few minutes to realize that he was smiling. It was shocking to him just as much as it would be to the people around him who never saw him smile.
He was tired from having to carry her from the airport. He carried her to the car all by himself and then even carried her to her room. His shoulders were not fully healed yet and it was stinging with pain now. He just shaked his head thinking about the trouble this girl brings in his life. He called the front desk of the hotel and asked them to send sobering medicine to her room. They have an evening meeting and it was only 3 hours from now. He needs to freshen up himself too.
He thought about it and decided that he could do this meeting without her so he wouldn't try to wake her up, besides its better that she isn't there to bother him.
'I'll just leave after putting that sobering medicine on the table. I feel so tired now ugh.'
One of the hotel staff came and gave him the medicine and while Nathan was putting it on the table beside the bed he noticed Lou's red face and then saw her clothes. Since the weather is really cold she wore a coat along with a muffler and even wore a sweater underneath the coat. The hotel had a heater so it must be really warm that's why her face was looking so flushed (not forgetting the wine she drank). He decided to take the coat off and open the buttons of her sweater before pulling the bed covers onto her.
He removed the coat and was just unbuttoning the sweater he heard a ear piercing scream. He was so started that he fell onto her in a rather compromising position as he was leaning down on the bed earlier. His leg stumbled and knocked him down above her.
Lou screamed even louder. She panicked when she saw him taking her clothes off when she first opened her eyes. She was scared of what he was trying to do to her. Her heart was beating so loudly at this point. Her brain was still dizzy as she was drunk but the shock she got made her sober up pretty fast.
Nathan didn't know how to stop her from freaking out and he was really annoyed and tired now. Her screaming was turning him angry and he even fell because of her. He somehow managed to prop himself on his arms and knees. He swiftly took Lou's hand into his grip and pulled her arms above her head.
Lou had her eyes closed and she was screaming but when she felt him pull her arms up she opened her eyes and stopped screaming. Her chest was heaving heavily. Nathan growled near her ears. "Stop this nonsense. You've shattered my eardrums already."
Lou swallowed back the screams. Her eyes were so red and she felt so hot right now that she thought she'd melt if he didn't let her go soon.
She didn't know what to do and all these emotions were too much for her and bursted into tears. She was still drunk so her confusion was just too much for her to handle.
All the anger in Nathan disappeared in a matter of minutes when he saw her crying like that. He knows he can be cruel at times but he never means to make anyone cry especially a girl. He didn't think she'd cry like this. His headache was getting worse by the minute.He released her hands and shifted away from her. He sat down beside her and saw her hands were now on her eyes and she was staright up bawling her eyes out. He sighed in worry for the first time and thought how confused and scared she must be after waking up from her drunk state and seeing that. He could understand her feelings but she was too quick to react and he didn't get time to clear up this misunderstanding. Something he so wishes for never to exist. They've made his life colourless but that's not the issue right now.
Right now he needs to calm her down and explain the situation to her. He raised his hand and slowly started to stroke her hair and said in a gentle voice "Lou let me explain. Don't cry like that. Nothing happened to you. You're okay. Please calm down."
Lou sniffled after hearing him and took a few deep breaths before removing her hands from her face. Her face was wet from the tears and eyes were bloodshot but she had stopped crying and was waiting for him to say whatever he was going to tell her. However big of a jerk he might be, she still believed what he said because he never did or speak anything that he didn't think was right.
"Have you calmed down Lou?" Nathan asked still stroking her hair without even realizing that he was doing it.
"Mmh mmh" Lou could only sound this out. She also didn't notice that he was still stroking her hair as she liked it too much to even think there was something wrong with it.
