Chapter 20 - Segment 20

It had been half an hour since Jinjuso, Kaizeen and co split into two separate groups, they were going through trials and tribulations of their own, but they were pushing through as they all had one goal in mind, to complete the exam. Over on the Lactentem Valley, Jinjuso, Kaizeen and Lillian had made some great headway down the Valley, by now it seemed like a great clearing was about to open up to them as the dimming lights that now shone like torches was now starting to pierce through the rough branches of the ancient trees. All their faces now seemed to brighten with childlike excitement as they started to see their way being made clear. With a quick squeal Lillian said, "Gentlemen it seems our arduous journey wasn't for naught after all", "Finally I was gunna curse ever coming down this damn path", said Jinjuso abruptly, "well now that were finally about to leave this hell valley, lets find out if it leads where we actually need to go", suggested Kaizeen. As they got closer to the clearing the dim lights started to brighten, step by step they could feel the oppressive nature of the valley dispersing from their bodies, then they arrived. What stood before them was an open spherical clearing dotted with trees all around it. It was eerily empty. Sounds of the willow wisps of wind were the only semblance of noise that could be heard within their ears. "Ummm should it always be this quiet Lilli?", asked Jinjuso, "you've read this in a book, right?", remarked Kaizeen. With a quick rush of cold air through her spine and trembling teeth Lillian said, "I wish I had read about this place in a book, maybe we should backtrack a little, gentlemen", "to hell with that", Kaizeen said denying it immediately, "we can't have walked through that valley for nothing at all, and its quiet anyway there shouldn't be anything to worry about", he continued. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained", followed up Jinjuso, Kaizeen nodded, they were totally in sync with each other, they looked over at Lillian expectantly, with a deep breath she released her anxiety in one fell swoop and said, "you two are right after all I would not want to trudge back through that horrible valley again, shall we get moving?" They then proceeded to walk down the middle, Jinjuso spotted two separate alcoves in the wall of trees, "guys look there are two separate alcoves leading out of this clearing", he said, "maybe we should che..", before Kaizeen could finish he was halted by a slight rustle then hustle amongst the trees. "What's that", Jinjuso said startled, before getting in a defensive stance, everyone moved closer to each other until there backs were eventually touching, they stood in the centre of the clearing highly vulnerable to any sudden attacks. The rustling and hustling started to become shimmers then large tremors as the ground started to shake as if it was a one hundred magnitude earthquake. "Be on your guard everyone", suggested Jinjuso, both Kaizeen and Lillian took up a defensive stance also. The large tremors grew louder. And louder. And louder. Until. Four giant massive bears emerged from the surrounding forest, "GANABONS", shouted Lillian, she looked over at one of them to see its mouth covered in blood. "So she did not make it after all" thought Lillian as she fell to her knees, her eyes went blank, cold as a slate, she sat there clutching her head and murmured the words, "violence, blood, slaughter". A Ganabon rushed after Lillian as if trying to take advantage over her in her feeble state, "Lilli", called out Jinjuso as he leaped over to her aid and within three consecutive flame charged punches took down the beast, "are you ok", he asked, she didn't respond still clutching her head and murmuring, before he could finish another one came and lunged after him, but just like Jinjuso did for Lillian, Kaizeen jumped in front an within two slices of his lightening infused weapon he split the Ganabon in half blood squirting everywhere. "Don't worry about her Jinjuso, just protect her and don't make any harm come towards her". They both stood offensively and wiped out the remaining Ganabons that came after them. After awhile more of them started to emerge from the forest like a battalion they even started emerging from behind the group, "Kaizeen I'll stay here and hold of the ones here, you take out the ones behind me", "got it Jinjuso", listened Kaizeen. Kaizeen went behind and as soon as he did they were all already after each of them, they began once again with their disposal waste culling industry. One by one the Ganabons fell. Blood stained the grass in artistic like fashion. It had been well over five minutes since the boys began taking down the Ganabons but they still came in droves, "there's no end to them huh", remarked Kaizeen, "huff, yea", agreed Jinjuso. The boys were noticeably getting tired as it wasn't just the bears taking damage, they were also, countless claw marks adorned there bodies like a scratchboard, they were now drenched in blood, as was Lillian as blood splattered on her from all over the place. Lillian carried on chanting the words, "blood, violence, slaughter", whilst still clutching her head. She finally stopped and looked up to see Jinjuso and Kaizeen drenched in blood, tears filled her eyes and she now started saying, "stop, stop, you are getting hurt please stop", then following up on that Jinjuso responded saying, "I want to, but I must not for our success and life depends on this, I must not stop and you must not either". Lillian interrupted saying, "I can not bear to watch this anymore it's insufferable, I don't want to see any more bloodshed, we should just give up and run!", Jinjuso clobbered a monster then looked at her and spoke. "Is this what she would have wanted huh", Lilian gasped clutching her mouth, "she sacrificed herself so you could survive and win this exam, both you and her, take her spirit, don't let her death be in vain". As soon as Jinjuso said this a Ganabon seemed to have sneaked up on him from behind after breaking past Kaizeen and scraped his back arggh Jinjuso said as he fell to the ground, "ah hell no, don't get distracted Jinjuso, don't worry about her, she'll pull through I know it", said Kaizeen encouraging Jinjuso. Jinjuso leapt back on his feet despite the pain and started spinning viciously fast like a Beyblade all whilst fire formed around him, "BLAZING TORNADO!", he shouted as he turned all the Ganabons surrounding him into fried meat. A lot more Ganabons started to encroach on Kaizeen, so to stave them off he sent down bolts of lightning from the sky, "FLAILING BOLTS!", he shouted. The enemies were now statically stunned in place whilst he mowed then down with the spin of his sword. Lillian wiped the tears from her eyes looked up once again and thought to herself, "both gentlemen are fighting with all their might trying to protect me whilst I sit back and be a coward, Jinjuso is right I must continue to fight on, not just for her sake but everyone's too". With newfound determination Lillian jumped to her feet and said, "Lilli has now joined the fray". Lillian then looked around at the battle going on as if she didn't know what to do, "but what should I do gentlemen?", she asked, whilst busily fighting Jinjuso replied saying, "do anything!", "anything?", she questioned, "do what you think is right", Kaizeen added. Lillian smiled her lips sparkling in the diming sunlight she then said, "ok in that case I'll support you two", she then took a wand out of her pocket grasped it tightly raised it in the air and said, "Ova praesidium". With that a purple shell seemed to glow around Jinjuso and Kaizeen, "Wow, I hardly feel a thing from all the bears swipes now", Jinjuso remarked, "They aren't cutting through me like butter anymore", stated Kaizeen, she giggled raised her wand again and said, "boost robore tuo". Within seconds Jinjuso and Kaizeen were now slicing through the Ganabons like butter with it only taking one hit at most, "you're the best", said Jinjuso, "I agree", said Kaizeen, Lillian blushed and said, "you're welcome gentlemen".

Even though they were doing significantly better than they did before they were still coming but a noticeably less amount showing they made progress. Then they stopped coming, Jinjuso looked at the two alcoves then looked at Kaizeen and said, "yo Kaizeen get out of here go down the alcove on the left, I'm sure they connect somewhere so we'll meet up", "but bro you sure you'll be ok", Kaizeen said worried, "I'll be fine go", he replied, "I'll draw some away first though, to make it easier for you", stated Kaizeen. "Ganabons are attracted to strong scents and that's why they followed us, my mind went blank earlier on and I forgot this important fact", stated Lillian, she then took perfume from her pocket and said "take this and spray it all over yourself", she threw it over to Kaizeen, he caught it and sprayed it all over himself, "now run into the left alcove!", shouted Jinjuso, Kaizeen nodded and ran into the alcove with four Ganabons following him. "will he be fine?", asked Lillian, Jinjuso looked at her smirked and said, "It's Kaizeen of course he will", the four remaining Ganabons charged at Jinjuso, he planted his feet on the ground, sucked in the air, held his breath, his cheeks puffed up like marshmallows, his eyes went an orangey red colour, he then held his fingers around his mouth as if trying to direct whatever came out. Suddenly a jug full of fire dispersed from his mouth and turned the Ganabons to ash as he uttered the words, "breath of fire". He then started to fall to the ground exhausted, "Oh dear", Lillian said as she quickly caught him, she then kneeled down and blushing she lay his head to rest on her lap, "my hero", she said softly. Kaizeen ran through the alcove and down a tight corner, he got the Ganabons to walk in single file until getting down in a low stance charging his blade with lightning and charging them zapping through all four Ganabons as fast as a Ferrari, they fell to the ground smoking whilst lightning flickered around them, Kaizeen then fell to the ground exhausted, "what a workout he said as his eyes closed and he drifted of to sleep.
