Arc 1: Land of Saridia.
(Kinata wakes up in a bed inside what appears to be a royal palace, the curtains are closed. He sits up straight and looks around the room. Excitement grows on his face and he throws his fist in the air.)
Kinata: YES!!! Finally, my luck is turning around!!! Ahaha!!! All that would make this better is if two twin maids were here!!! That would turn paradise into HEAVEN!!! Now… where are my pants?
(An old man and the woman who saved him watch him through a small crack in the door of the room.)
The man: And you're certain that this… boy is the hero?
The woman: Yes, utmost certain, father. He may look like a bit of a buffoon, but he bears the mark of the Erol on the back of his leg. I had some of the maids check all over his body for it. (She starts opening the door.) I'll go speak to him.
The man: (She grabs her hand.) Wait. We'll let him find his way around here, if he gets lost then I'll let your sister escort him around… after all you have business to deal with.
The woman: *Sigh* Yes, father.
(Kinata puts on his pants, nearly falling over doing so, he throws on his coat and walks over to the dresser, he sees a chain with two swords crossed with a heart behind them hanging from it.)
Kinata: Huh looks just like the emblem of the Burenthalia family from Tales of Saridia- WAITAMINUTE!!! (He moves the curtains and looks out the window at the view of the city, the wall, the river running through the center of it, and buildings all look familiar to him.) Ainsley River, and those buildings… they burn down when you fight Ifrit. I'm… INSIDE TALES OF SARIDIA!!! Okay… by that logic; I should be freaking out right now, but, the game taught me never to get stressed or angry. (He takes a deep breath through his nose and lets it out through his mouth.) Alright, Kinata, you've been through worse, coding is more nightmarish than this. All it takes is focus. Commitment. And ambition. (He takes another deep breath, but starts suddenly having a panic attack.) I WOULD'VE RATHER BEEN SENT TO DARK SOULS!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
(His screams catch the attention of everyone in the castle. The old man from before starts face palming.)
The man: Kristeva… go talk to him, please.
(A young girl around the age of 14 bows down and says "Yes, father." She starts walking up a flight of stairs next to the throne the man is sitting next to. She walks into him banging his head against the dresser while screaming at the top of his lungs.)
Kristeva Burenthalia: Hey. (Kinata doesn't hear her through his screams.) HEY!!!
(Kinata turns his head to look at her. She is 5'1ft tall, with a very petite and young body. Her blonde hair falls down to her neck, with a braid hanging off of her left shoulder. She is wearing a black and red medieval dress with the crest of the Burenthalia family on the stomach, a short red cape falls at the back of her dress, covering her upper arm and the back of her shoulders, the colors neatly complement her dark grey eyes.)
Kinata: (He runs over to Bricteva and grabs her by the shoulders.) LISTEN!!! You gotta get me the fuck out of here!!!
Kristeva: What do you mean?!
Kinata: I'M INSIDE TALES OF SARIDIA!!!
Kristeva: Well… of course you are. You were chosen and summoned here because you were the first-ever person to finish the game, as such, you showed your strength by conquering the challenges upfront and honestly.
Kinata: (His jaw drops and his eyes widen.) Eh…?
Kristeva: You did complete the game, right?
Kinata: Y- yes.
Kristeva: (She grabs Kinata's hand and starts dragging him with her.) Well then come along, I have a lot to show you, hero.
(Kristeva gives Kinata a tour through the castle, showing him around the garden, the training grounds, the weapons, and just the general layout of the castle. She takes him to the throne room, a large room with a long red carpet lying on the floor, it stretches from the throne to the entrance, the images on the carpet detail the history of the land and how the kingdom was found. Banners with the crest of the Burenthalia Family hang underneath the windows. On the throne sits the old man, half asleep. He is wearing red royal garments fit for the king; his grey beard is scruff and long. His hair is neatly combed to the side and his eyes are the same crimson color as his eldest daughter.)
Kristeva: Father, I have brought him to you.
Elijah Burenthalia: So you're the hero who'll save us from damnation?
Kinata: Umm… hi, Kinata Seikatsu.
Elijah: Hmph, tell… Kinata do you know of the history of this land?
Kinata: Well, I got here like 5 minutes ago, do you mind explaining it to me, please?
Elijah: Hmmm… didn't pay attention to the story now, did you? *Sigh* Fine.
("Centuries ago Mankind was placed on these lands by a mysterious force, known only as 'God.' He let Mankind build their cities and grow their crops, but his rule over them was strong. They had no true 'free will' a group of 13 knights banded together to bring down God so that they may live as they please. The forces of God put on a strong fight, at the end only one knight remained, his name was Hildith. He picked up the weapons of his fallen comrades and challenged the Hand of God itself. Their battle shook the entire world and at the end of the day he managed to cut off one of God's fingers, the being retreated and it is said Hildith consumed the finger, gaining some of the powers of God, he used this power to protect the land from God's powers and gave his people the will to do as they please, build where they please. Saridia evolved into what you see before you today.")
Elijah: But, the barrier has started to fade and soon God will come for his revenge. And as such, we need a hero who can match the will and prowess of Hildith. As such, we created a "video game" using Magic and sent it to your world. The first to complete this game was you… Kinata. You gritted your teeth and pushed through to the end, in many ways, you are similar to Hildith. All the abilities and the strength you gained while playing, will be available to you right here and now. In two days, you shall have a sparring match with my finest swordsman, just so we can test your strength. As for now… go cheer up the people of Saridia, hero.
Kinata: Y- yes, sir.
(Kinata follows Bricteva outside, they climb into a carriage, and Kinata is taken by surprise due to the comfort of the seats.)
Carriage Driver: Where to, ma'am?
Kristeva: First to the tailor, then town square.
Carriage Driver: Yes, ma'am.
(The carriage starts driving through the streets of the city.)
Kinata: Tailor?
Kristeva: Yes, we can't have you make a heroic speech while looking like a homeless peasant.
Kinata: Hey! I'll let you know that this coat was very expensive; it is an exact copy of Dante's coat in Devil May Cry 3. I used all my money I earned mowing lawns for some golf course on this!!!
Kristeva: I do not understand a single thing you just said. You could've at least worn a shirt.
Kinata: I was gonna, but how was I supposed to know I was going to be summoned here?!
Kristeva: You are correct, that still doesn't mean I agree with your attire, however.
Kinata: (He turns his head to look out towards the street.) You're a very mean 14-year-old.
Kristeva: And you're not the first person to tell me that. As such your jokes are unoriginal and unfunny.
Kinata: Come on there's no need to roast a man after you've already cooked him.
Kristeva: (She takes out a small notebook and starts writing something in it.) Hmmm, noted.
Kinata: What are you writing?
Kristeva: Your jokes, I'm going to use them if I haven't heard them before from someone else.
Kinata: YOU HYPOCRITE!!! *Sniff* You're mean.
Kristeva: (She gives him a small pat on the shoulder.) Don't worry, I'm just playing with you.
Carriage Driver: (They stop in front of a tailor.) We're here, ma'am.
Kristeva: Thank you, Sebastian.
Sebastian: (He is around 15 years old, with straight brown hair and green eyes. He is wearing a formal black suit, with a white shirt underneath.) *Thinking to himself.* AAHHHH… she called me by my name!!! This may just be the best day of my life. (Kinata calls out to him and he starts talking formally again.) Yes, sir?
Kinata: Don't you look a bit young to be driving around the Royal Family?
Sebastian: Well… don't you look a bit old to be asking dumb questions, which only 3-year-olds would ask their mommy?
Kinata: (He looks at Simon for a second before walking into the tailor.) *Under his breath* Jees, why does everyone in this place have to be so mean?
(Meanwhile. Inside a meeting room within the castle, various military officers sit around a table all of them wearing officer uniforms. A dark green formal suit, with thin red stripes on the arms and legs, the collar of the shirts are closed and on the left side of the chest sit their badges of honor. At the front of the table sits the woman from before.)
Lefleda Burenthalia: (She is wearing a white and red uniform. She is wearing a white wool coat with a scarlet red skirt and shirt which closes tightly at the collar underneath a white vest that has red pieces of string sewn together along the stomach area. She is also wearing black stockings and red heels. Her long white hair is tied neatly into a ponytail at the back of her head.) Well… I was called here for a reason, wasn't I?
Ravenor Von Aimer: (He has light brown middle-parted hair and hazel eyes. He looks around the age of 43.) Well, miss… this problem concerns the Kingdom of Englito and their… "deals."
Lefleda: (She starts rubbing her forehead.) Oh, you've got to be fucking me.
Michael Everett: (He is the youngest of the officers at 31 years old. He has long black hair and brown eyes, with glasses over them.) We wish we were… not in like… a weird way. They've threatened to send thousands of troops towards Saridia if we do not agree to their deal.
Lefleda: And their deal is?
Simon Hindman: (He has greying hair that falls to the side, his eyes are black in color and he is 62 years old. He jugs the entire glass of Saridian Brew and slams it down on the table. He picks up a piece of paper and starts reading it.) *Clears throat* "The newly crowned king has your hand in marriage and has access to Saridia's military resources. In exchange; Saridia shall have unlimited access to ALL of Englito's materials, spices, and minerals. As well as aid should the barrier fall and God attacks."
Lefleda: Hmmm… so let me get this straight; that perverted AND idiotic bastard known as Efric Sidindor wants me to marry him. *Under her breath.* Most likely because I dumped him last we met… *Speaking normally* They have access to our military, the most powerful in all the seven nations. In exchange we get their materials, spices, WHICH MIGHT I ADD, gave my father a week of stomach pain when he ate it, and their minerals? And jokes on them, we already have the hero for the barrier. None of this makes sense, honestly, are you SURE this wasn't written by a 7-year-old?
Michael: No, it has Englito's seal of approval on the back.
Lefleda: (She stands up from her seat.) *Sigh* Tell them I'll consider it and also you bunch send a spy in there and find out why they want access to our military, and just how many resources they have at their disposal before I sign this contract and end up sending the nation into havoc!!!
(Everyone around the table stands up and says "Yes, ma'am!!!")
Lefleda: (When everyone leaves the room, she lets out a big sigh of relief and falls back in her chair.) Ahh… I'm starting to hope an assassin would just take me out, on a date or with a sword. I don't care! (She turns her head to the window.) I should be out there, fighting as a knight… not in here, a politician bored out of their mind. (She slams her head onto the table.) UGHHH!!! Mother, what should I do?!!! (Suddenly a gust of window bursts open one of the windows, she stands up to close it and notices the window with a thick layer of iron covering it on both sides.) Father told me never to go in there, as did mother before she died of that sickness. You know what?! I'm an adult… I deserve to know!
(In the streets of Saridia, Kinata walks out of the tailor wearing a suit, with a black jacket, black pants, and a white double-breasted suit over a dark grey shirt. He straightens his jacket, claps his hands, and starts dancing like there's no tomorrow, while silently singing to himself. Everyone that walks past him just looks him on with confusion and somewhat concern.)
Kristeva: Uhh… what are you doing?
Kinata: What I was born to. (He starts walking into the streets, with a pep in his step and finger guns pointed at everyone woman he walks past.) Now let's go, my loyal sidekick.
Kristeva: (She walks out of the tailor and points at the carriage.) Umm, hero? The carriage is over here?
Kinata: (He immediately turns around.) Oh.
Sebastian: *Whispering.* That's the man we're trusting to save the kingdom?
Kristeva: So it would seem.
Sebastian: This man is going to be the death of us.
Kristeva: (Hanging her head.) *Sigh* So it would seem…
