Dolly locked the door and went to the living room where she's sure her parent will be. She had just returned from seeing Evan off.
She apologized to him about her behaviour and he of course, forgave her.
They shared a quick kiss before he left because her mum had ordered her to return early.
She went towards the living room and found them sitting opposite themselves, saying whatever it is that pleased them.
They both kept quiet immediately they saw her.
Dolly sat beside Dave, looking at him, she rose her right eyebrow.
"Aren't you saying anything?" She asked when he didn't speak up.
"I'm just surprised you're sitting beside me, and not your mum." Dave replied.
"Anyways, I'm to kidnap you tomorrow so you both be prepared." He began, clearing his throat a bit.
"I'm to "kill you" after kidnapping you." Making emphasis on the "kill you".
"Then what happens after that. I suppose Louis would've explained everything to you." Dolly was so eager to know.
"Relax." Dave cautioned her. "I'm not running anywhere.
"Whatever." Dolly rolled her eyes, resting her back on the couch.
"I'm to help him kidnap Evan so that he can reach Charlie." Dave continued.
"Which Evan?" Dolly's eyes were almost popping from her eye socket.
"Same Evan, your Evan."
"But why?" Dolly questioned, sincerely hoping it wasn't because of her.
"Louis is Evan's father, also Charlie's father. He's trying to get the company from another of our friend, John, who's dead."
"How is that related to them?" She curiously asked.
"Charlie and Ann, the last surviving child, and first daughter of John were friends since childhood and well, Charlie fell for her."
"Are they together?" Dolly inquired.
"No, but he really likes her and can do anything for her." He said.
"Okay...." Dolly dragged, expecting more explanations which Dave willingly gave out.
"Louis wants Charlie to get him the company's company and since Charlie likes her, he has to bring the company's paper to release his kidnapped brother." Dave calmly explained.
Dolly remained silent, thinking about her latest discovery until she suddenly spoke up.
"I'm not going to allow Louis use Evan as a bait for Charlie." She said with determination. "I can't allow that." She spelled out to Dave.
"That's why we have to do something and you have to help." Dave stroke his chin.
"I have a plan." Dolly added. "Something to get him completely.
***************************
A stout boy, rough looking with almost a week old beard and unbrushed looking hair knocked on Louis' door repeatedly.
He had been standing there for almost five minutes, wondering where his boss had gone to.
"What are you doing here Sam?" Louis called from outside, walking out of the room opposite his.
Nobody knows what he does there. Not even his most trusted men. The room is said to be soundproofed and so he can't hear whatever goes on outside the house.
Rumour says he goes there to meditate, saying that's where he gets his power from. Nobody really knows though.
"Dave says he wants to see you. I wanted to get your permission before letting him in." He bowed his head as he spoke.
"Let him in." Sam walked away while Louis went into his room. He looked around to check for any missing stuff or sign that someone touched his property but he didn't see any.
He can't just trust anyone. There should be limits to his trust, especially since Sam is the new guy he met in the factory few days ago.
He's still very new to the industry and he doesn't know him enough to trust him that much.
Dave barged in, not even caring to knock. He had been waiting for ages since Louis' men won't let him in unless they ask for confirmation.
"Why have you been keeping me waiting?" He was looking really pissed.
"I wasn't inside my room. I was in the opposite room." Louis' voice was really calm.
Even Dave understood the sacredness of that room. He, as everyone, doesn't understand the depth of that room but he knows the room is special to Louis.
"Whatever." He sat on an armchair.
"So... whatsup?" Louis casually asked.
"What do you have for me?"
Dave pondered on telling Louis. He wasn't sure if it was a good idea. He really hoped it was.
"C'mon man. Tell me." Louis pressed on.
"Okay. They both think I'm not really kidnapping them. They think it's just to fool you into thinking I'm killing them."
"I can't wait to see their reaction when they find out you betrayed them. The look they'll give. Oh, how I wish I can see that look. It will sure be something to see." Louis said, chuckling.
Dave laughed along, hoping that he isn't making a mistake in telling Louis this.
"Am I still the one kidnapping Evan?" He casually asked though he was very anxious within.
Dave internally gasped when he saw the change in Louis' demeanor.
Louis just remembered what a little birdie of his told him.
"A little birdie informed me of Evan leaving Stephanie's house hours after you went in." He paused, trying to see if a guilty or terrified look will show on his face but he didn't see anything.
"Any explanation to that?"
"i should be expecting an explanation from you." Dave retorted.
"For what?" Louis asked curiously.
"Why would you be stalking me? Sending your men after me?" He asked, almost angrily.
"For reasons like this. I can't allow you to betray me.... Again." He answered nonchalantly, whilst keeping his anger at bay.
Dave sighed as he rubbed his forehead. He thinks the betrayal Louis is talking about is not killing his wife and daughter when Louis is actually talking about Dave and John, building their company without him.
"He is Dolly's boyfriend and it's normal for him to visit her and vice versa." Dave relaxed and continued.
"She didn't even know that we know each other."
Louis nodded, thinking deeply.
"I hope it remains that way."
"What?" Dave was confused about what was remaining what way.
"I hope she still won't know that you know each other." Louis explained.
"Of course not." Dave smiled. "I'm not a kid."
If only Louis knows that Dolly knows already. Dave was wondering why Louis doesn't want Dolly to know, but to Louis, he knows best.
