A knock sounded on Ann's office door, jolting her from her deep thoughts. She had been thinking about her family. How much she misses them. She cleaned a stray tear from her face.
"Come in." She shouted to whoever was outside. She grinned when she saw who it was.
"Long time no see Lee." She exclaimed, throwing herself on Lee as she calls Charlie. Only her calls Charlie Lee.
Charlie snuggled with her tighter, inhaling her scent.
"How are you doing?" He asked, still clinging to her.
"Great." Ann smiled, releasing herself from his grip.
"I've missed you so much." Charlie pouted, earning a chuckle from Ann.
"I've missed you too."
She held his hand, dragging him to the couch at the centre of her office.
"What do I offer you?" She asked, still smiling but got a glare from Charlie.
"Have you been crying?" Charlie asked, staring deep into her face and trailing his hands on the little traces of dried tears.
Ann tried to lie but the look from Charlie silenced her immediately.
She sighed, trying so hard not to break down in tears.
"I just miss my family." She whispered.
Charlie hugged her tight and this time, Ann let the tears flow.
Charlie rubbed her back in a comforting way.
"Let it all out." He whispered soothingly, feeling hurt at the pain she's feeling.
It's more hurting that he's liable to cause her more pain. It's either that or his brother dies and he's sure his dad isn't just bluffing.
After few minutes, Ann got a hold of herself and raised her head off Charlie's shoulder. She looked embarrassed and couldn't look him in the face.
"I'm sorry, your shirt is ruined." She muttered apologetically.
Lee smiled at her. "It's fine." He said. "I wasn't going out anyways. I just came to spend the day with you."
"And you should wash your face, you look like a zombie." Lee mocked.
Ann sprang to her feet and rushed into the bathroom, causing Lee to laugh.
"You better stop laughing now." Ann screamed from the bathroom making Lee laugh the more.
"Lee I'm warning you." She thundered, marching into the office.
She turned to Charlie as he took off, running around the office. She laughed and pursued him, screaming his name like there's no tomorrow. How much she's missed this.
*************************
Dolly stood up from where she was sitting. She was waiting for her dad to come so they could talk and he could perhaps tell her how he lived.
She is tired of waiting and hungry as well. She removed her wig from her head and brought out the bomb in it. It's a flat and tiny bomb she and her gang members created to break through doors and gates like the one she's locked in.
"Her dad is really stupid to think she'll really come in unprepared and harmless", she thought, smirking to herself and leaving her mum confused.
"Mom, would you move back a little?" She asked her already confused mum.
Stephanie doesn't know what Dolly was holding but she knows that whatever it is will keep them safe.
Dolly wasn't surprised her mum didn't know what it is. The bomb looks like tiny bars of chocolate and her mum must tink she's crazy but she moved back all the same.
Dolly threw the bomb on the gate, moving back and shielding her mum's body with hers.
They both coughed as the bomb exploded, erupting dust. The door gate opened widely and she held her mum's hand, moving towards the gate.
Pushing her mum to go out first, Dolly looked around for anything she could use to protect herself just in case of anything. She found a rod and picked it up. Anything is better than nothing.
As they walked towards the door, she saw thick smoke and knew immediately that the place was on fire.
Stephanie panicked and cried out.
"We're going to die", she kept muttering.
Looking around for an escape route, Dolly couldn't find any. The windows were wooden and locked, the door was obviously looked and the thick smoke was coming from there.
Stephanie screamed as a rod fell from one of the burnt curtains. The fire was approaching them faster and the smoke was chocking them. If they didn't die from the fire burns, then they'll die from the smoke.
Rushing back to the dungeon, Dolly looked around and saw a small window, just what she needed.
"Mum, come over." She called out to her panicking mother.
Stephanie went to Dolly, coughing and almost chocking.
Dolly wasted no time in pushing her mum out of the window. As her mum went out, the fire spread to the dungeon. Dolly could feel the heat and she knew if she didn't leave, she'll be dead.
As swiftly as she could, she jumped out and missed getting burnt by the fire just narrowly. She got on her knees and saw her mum coughing, still trying to catch her breath.
She herself inhaled some oxygen before helping her mum to her feet to leave the place. As she left, her gaze moved to the front side of the house and she saw her dad. The one who had tried to kill her.
She stood still, not knowing what to do. Stephanie noticed Dolly stay still and followed her gave. She gasped when she saw Dave.
She shrunk and moved to Dolly's back, trying to move away from his gaze.
Dolly however stood still and like a warrior, tried to safeguard her mum.
Standing at her mum's front, she held the rod out. She won't let anyone get to her or her mum. Not even her dad.
Stephanie was trying to keep her breathe steady but failed miserably. She just escaped death and now she's about to die again. She knows Dave is the one who set the fire and now that he's found them, he's definitely going to kill them.
Dave smiled sinisterly and walked towards them. The boys Louis sent to help him were just outside the house and a call from him will bring them over.
Killing them wasn't so hard. He had an amused smile as he took in Dolly's fierce look but his smile dropped at his Stephanie's sacred look. She was trying to hide from his gaze.
"Should he just call the boys to finish the work or let them go?" He thought critically. He finally made up his mind and spoke.
