Chapter 12✍️
(Do Not Copy Or Repost!)
Charlie grunted, standing up as he shielded his eyes from his eyes from the sun. He held his head that was really aching him. It felt like a thousand drummer were drumming on his head.
Opening the door, Evan entered his brother's room. He had expected to see him in the situation he was and so he wasn't surprised. He was holding a tray with a bowl of soup and walking to Charlie's bed, he dropped it.
"Morning", he greeted, slightly stirring the soup.
Charlie barely said a word as he grunted again.
"Close the damn curtains", he said in a muffled sound bringing the soup closer to himself.
Evan chuckled, seeing his brother's expression as he tasted the soup. He might not be very defiant but he's definitely a good cook.
Moaning in pleasure, Charlie slurped the remaining soup. He licked his lips and no one had to tell Evan that he enjoyed the meal.
"Thanks." He said, sliding into his flip flops and going into his bathroom.
Evan picked the bowl and went out of Charlie's room. He knew he had to ask Charlie about the last night but he doesn't know how to approach him. He's not even sure Charlie will tell him the truth even if answers him.
He sighed as he cleaned the bowl. He dried his hands on the hand towel and returned to Charlie's room. He met him on the couch and when he spoke, Charlie looked startled.
"Yo, you startled me." Charlie voiced out, confirming Evan's thoughts.
"Why? You looked so lost in thought." Evan replied. "And aren't you gonna talk about last night?" He questioned.
Looking away from him, Charlie sighed. He had been expecting him to ask. He just hopes he hadn't said anything that could make Evan suspect him.
"I was pretty drunk last night uhn?" He grinned nervously, touching the back of his neck.
Evan looked surprised and concluded that something was indeed wrong. He's never seen Charlie act that way.
"Is something wrong?" He softly asked.
"Nope", Charlie answered, his reply coming fast.
"But you came home drunk", Evan insisted, "and you were dressed in...."
"I went to a costume party", Charlie cut in, "and I got drunk".
"But you never get drunk", Evan said, looking at him suspiciously.
"Ann was there, with her boyfriend". He breathed out, showing a pitiful face to make it look real.
Ann is Charlie's childhood friend, also Sally's elder sister. Charlie, Ann, Evan and Sally grew up together and while Evan and Sally dated, Ann and Charlie remained best friends.
When Sally died, along with her parent, Ann was really grieved and travelled out of the country. She was however, still controlling her parent's company from there.
She had returned however but Evan didn't know and so Charli had to lie with her name. He likes Ann and Evan knows so it was easier.
"Oh! I'm so sorry." Evan thought it was something else. He had thought wrong. He really wished Sally will see through Charlie and know that he likes her but that is near to impossible since she likes him only as a best friend and has a boyfriend already.
"When did she return?" He questioned again.
"Yesterday morning." Charlie said. "I'll be going out today, I have work to do." He quickly added. He doesn't want to answer any question from Evan anymore.
"Okay....", Evan dragged, standing on his feet. "I suppose ya going to see her." He wriggled his eyebrows, causing Charlie to laugh, almost choking on his spit.
"Get out of my room", Charlie snorted in false anger.
Evan shoulders shook in laughter as he stepped out of the room, heading to his own room.

Outside Charlie's house, a man had been standing. He looked obviously weary from standing for too long.
"How much longer do I have to wait here?" He questioned through an ear pod which was small and hardly noticeable.
"Did he say anything about it?" Another voice asked from the other side.
"Nope." He grunted "So can I leave?" He asked again.
"Sure." The reply came curt and simple and the man walked away.

Louis was growing impatient. He's trying to wait till twenty four hours. He knows Charlie has no other option but he just couldn't be so sure.
His informant had told him he didn't say a word about it to Evan and he couldn't be happier. He stretched his hand on his table and picked the frame on his table. It was the picture of his family, when all was still rosy and he wasn't so attracted to money.
He had succeeded in converting Dave's company to his and he can't wait to get John, Ann's dad's company as well. Nothing matters to him in as much as he's the richest man on earth.
He loves his family but to him, money comes first. He knows how much value money worths as he's been poor before and knows what it feels like to be in want.
A knock on his door startled him and brought him out of his deep thoughts.
"Sorry boss but Dave is here to see you." A voice called out.
"Let him in", his hoarse voice replied.
Louis relaxed on his chair when Dave walked in. He smiled at the puppet he had made out of Dave. Having someone like him in his team is a credit to him.
Dave smiled back at Louis thinking it was a way to welcome him.
"What are you up to?" Louis asked, his voice, stern.
"Stephanie and Dolly are at my warehouse now", he answered, "and I don't know what to do to them." He concluded.
Louis smirked at his reply. He loves what he heard. He almost frowned when Dave took his sit. He doesn't allow anyone to sit without his permission but jr oet it slide. He should've invited him to sit as well.
"We're going to kill them." He said without a second thought. "We'll burn the warehouse and kill them in the process."
"The girl can get back at us if she comes out of that place alive;", he continued, "and that will be bad for us." He concluded.
Dave could only nod as he was left speechless. He's just been asked to kill his wife and daughter.
"Sure", he breathed out, "I'll do just that".
The chair screeched as he stood up. He halted when he heard Louis' voice.
"I'll send my boys with you to help.". Louis said.
"Alright." Dave walked out.
Louis couldn't help the grin that formed on his lips when Dave walked out. He'll finally get Dolly out of the way. All his dreams are coming to pass. Everything is falling into place.
