Chapter 13 - An Invitation From The Enemy

"We are all going to die" Riley said calmly.

The group stopped and looked at Riley with a mixture of different expression on their faces.

"Why would you say that!" Kai yelled exasperatedly.

"I mean.. I don't disagree but that was rather blunt" Louis said.

"My adorable baby I won't let any harm come to you so don't think such awful thoughts" Kerr said.

"Everyone needs to calm down," Riley said gazing at a raging Vincent pointedly. Vincent who was about to cause great destruction to all the prisoners stopped when he felt those red eyes on him as if warning him to stand down.

"I was not finished, don't interrupt me until I am. As I said we are all going to die. But that will only happen if we remain here. Therefore, we need to leave and stop wasting our time fighting this battle when we're clearly out numbered and unprepared. Someone was definitely behind this pulling the strings but if we die here we will never know the truth and punish whoever caused this devastation."

Vincent looked at Riley in utter shock, his tone was enough to tell him that this was an order not a suggestion.

"An escape, well I tried using teleportation before to get the younger ones out but for some reason my space magic ability has been nullified by someone else that possesses the power to stop me from using that ability" Vincent said.

"If that's the case then why didn't they stop Kai as well?" Louis asked.

"That's right, I can still use my space magic I used it to teleport all of us from place to place when we were fighting through the first year halls" Kai said.

"Does this mean the enemy behind this was not aware that Vincent had a son that inherited his ability?" Darien asked.

"No. They must have done their research so that is out of the question. Space magic is not easily controlled but Kai has always been very good for his age it would have made sense to stop my son from teleporting but instead they didn't, why?" Vincent had a puzzled look in his eyes.

"Hmm…" Riley looked at Kai causing the boy to looked down shyly.

"Your thinking something, what is it young master?" Lincoln asked curiously.

"Kai I want you to use your teleportation magic on him" Riley said pointing at the body of a dead prisoner. Kai did as told and was surprised to learn that he couldn't use his power on him at all.

"Kai isn't in control of his power now, someone else is. It seems someone is inviting us somewhere" Riley said, his lips lifting into a beautiful but dangerous smile.

"If they're controlling who can be teleported then they must also have a place in mind they want to send those persons" Kerr said.

"It shouldn't be able to work on my Riley" Darien said and Kerr looked at him waiting for an explanation.

"Why is that?" He asked.

"Because, they simply couldn't have known about my son and even if by the slightest chance they were watching us right now it still would have been too late to change whatever they did to Kai and so Kai should not be able to take Riley with him when he teleports" Darien informed.

"Maybe it has something to do with his ability? What is his bloodline ability anyway?" Louis asked.

Both father and son looked at each other knowingly. Riley was a half demon and Darien was not aware of the extent of his demon ability and so a bloodline ability was also an unknown factor.

Lincoln feeling Riley's unwillingness to answer stepped in. "My master is simply too powerful to be stopped or controlled by this invisible enemy you all so fear" He said without even the slightest bit of hesitation.

'Thank you Lincoln' Riley said through their mind link and Lincoln hugged him closer to his chest.

"Whatever the case, should we go?" Niklaus asked finally recovering from that high pitched scream.

Simultaneously all seven demons turned to look at Riley. Kai was angry about being controlled but he felt relaxed when he knew Riley was with him. Niklaus and Louis had both willingly started following Riley's wishes since they met the young demon. Darien and Kerr were undoubtedly bewitched by Riley from the moment they saw him and would follow and protect him anywhere and at anytime. Vincent for the first time had put a great deal of trust in someone outside his little circle and that demon was young Riley and Lincoln was just awaiting his word. So they all looked to him for the final say.

"Yes, it would be rude to decline their invitation" Riley said sweetly surprising the demon lords with such calmness and indifference.

Only Lincoln knew his true feelings. Only he could see his hidden smirk and the dangerous aura emitting his slender body. There was no mistaken it, his master was thrilled with the idea of playing chase. This brought a smile to Lincoln's face.

He nuzzled his nose against Riley's neck and placed feather kisses up and down as he found his sensitive spot and without meaning to his fangs came out ready to bite into his neck.

'I don't mind, do as you wish' Riley told him sensing his hesitation.

He titled his head to the side giving Lincoln more access. Sinking his fangs in deep he drank happily feasting on Riley's blood which had become his favorite taste. A pleasure he didn't plan on sharing with another.

Riley fell in his embrace from the pain and pleasure of Lincoln's sharp fangs. A moan involuntarily escaped Riley's lips and Lincoln froze upon hearing it. The sound drove him crazy and dark thoughts of the many ways he could pleasure this young master filled his mind. If he didn't stop now, it would be too late there was no way he would be able to control himself.

Licking the two bite marks on his neck the wound closed up and he kept Riley in his embrace inhaling his sweet scent. It did nothing to calm his nerves, in fact it made it worse.

"Such a tempting master, what should I do with you?" Lincoln asked.

"Lincoln…" Riley softly called as if teasing the demon. Just as Lincoln was ready to give into temptation his razor sharp senses were alerted as he sensed danger coming.

"Everyone be on guard, something is coming" Vincent said.

"I feel it too but I can't pin point where" Niklaus said in irritation. Riley closed his eyes and relaxed into Lincoln's embrace.

Where? Where is it coming from? As if responding to his desire to know, he felt a burning sensation in his eyes but it was gone as soon as it came. He reopened his eyes and just like before he felt as though his senses heightened.

"It's above us," Riley said in an authoritative tone. Simultaneously looking up everyone saw the purple smoke dispersing through the air and slowly threatening to cover the entire school.

"Is that poison gas?!" Kai was itching to punch the wall out of anger and frustration but he felt even the slightest hit would damage the already crumbling school.

"Tsk, its burning my nostrils" Niklaus complained.

"It seems they don't plan on letting us take our time. They want us in their reach now" Riley said.

"What is going to happen to the rest of our school mates if we go now? We can't just leave the—" Niklaus abruptly stopped when his eyes caught sight of his fellow school mates.

They had just taken their eyes off them for a second and yet in that moment every single student of DarkFall fell.

In a pool of their own blood they all laid unmoving.
