Chereads / Welcome To Demon School DarkFall / Chapter 5 - Demon Lord Kerr

Chapter 5 - Demon Lord Kerr

Darien was looking at the document on his desk with great annoyance. It was a letter from that idiot of a demon lord. Lord Kerr was arguably the strongest demon lord among the demon lords. Yet he is also without a doubt the most impudent person he has ever encountered in his life.

He was contemplating ripping the thing to shreds but refrained himself. If Kerr was paying a visit to DarkFall it only meant one thing, he was coming to visit his castle and that was of great importance.

After all, if what is down there were to ever stepped foot on the surface there would be hell to pay.

Vincent who had left the orientation meeting was now in Darien's office looking through some files as well.

"Darien a rumor is going around about you having a son?" Vincent said. This caught the demon's attention. He thought Vincent surely would have met Riley by now.

"Indeed, my beloved son is now attending this very school. I had thought you would have encountered him at the first years orientation hall" Darien replied, his work completely forgotten as the demon hid his smile.

"Huh?" Vincent was now fully focused on Darien as he was surprised to say the least.

Now that he thought about it…how was Darien's son able to go unnoticed by him? The boy was sure to have receive a lot of attention from the students.

Was his presence that unnoticeable?

Before he could investigate on the matter a knock on the door interrupted the two demon lords.

Maxwell stood rigid and with the utmost respect for lord Darien he showed his black wings.

"Lord Darien I have failed my task and was unable to ensure the safety of your son."

The silence that followed was almost deafening as Darien looked at Maxwell like he had spoken a totally different language. Vincent on the other hand was not sure what to make of this situation.

"Maxwell…Where is Riley?" Darien asked. It would be more accurate to say it was a threat really.

"Lord Darien, I am unaware of his location" Maxwell tried to choose his words carefully but the truth was that no matter how he paraphrased it he was walking on thin ice.

"How is that? Actually no, I want to hear your excuse from the beginning so go ahead and tell me your story" Darien said.

"Before entering the orientation hall I had given him my cloak as to not draw too much attention. A few demons were affected by the sweet smell of young Riley but that was all. He was with me during the ceremony up until chair demon gave an introduction and then the grade representatives were called to the stage. I am sure it was around that time that he was gone. I searched in the orientation hall, then retraced our steps and searched every possible location. I found nothing and so I searched the entire school grounds. I am unable to locate him or say if he was taken or wandered off." Maxwell finished his summary of the situations that lead up to this moment.

"Wandered off?!" Darien just about lost it. He slammed his fist down on the table and it broke to pieces like a shattered glass.

"Without a doubt my Riley did not wander off and he certainly can not teleport so I'll ask again. Where is my son?" Darien's eyes looked shades darker and Vincent was for the first time rendered speechless.

Vincent had never seen Darien lose his temper like that. In fact the demon rarely ever showed emotions at all. Yet here he was, his killing intent unmistakable. As a father himself Darien's anger was not unfounded and the situation was rather odd, that too on his son's first day here no less.

Then there was also the issue of Maxwell. How on earth did one boy manage to elude him. Be it a case of kidnapping or something else. Maxwell was above average when it comes to these types of protection task. He never failed before.

Before more thought processing could be done by Vincent, another demon made a sudden appearance.

And of all the demons why did it have to be him?

"I'm back! Darry, Vince I'm here" demon lord Kerr burst into the office with a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm. It might have been a blessing in disguise that Darien was solely focused on Maxwell to even acknowledge Kerr.

But of course Kerr wouldn't be Kerr if he didn't do something stupid enough to annoy Darien.

"I heard an interesting rumor, why didn't you tell me we have a son! Where is he, I want to meet him. I'm gonna spoil him—"

Kerr was rendered silent as Darien ripped out his heart, and then he crushed it.

I looked at the heartless moron on the office carpet in a pool of his own blood. Sigh, now I have no choice but to get a new desk and carpet.

"Darien please refrain from attempting to murder your fellow demon lord" I said calmly, but when my gaze fell on Kerr, I rephrased.

"Actually what I meant was, please refrain from causing any more damage that will in turn cause damage to my paycheck."

Demon lord Kerr was currently undergoing massive regeneration which happened to be his unique bloodline ability.

Bloodline ability, a special ability inherited by demons of a specific bloodline of relatives in a family.

Demons are naturally born with a balanced level of healing power but Kerr's unique bloodline ability was an ability that made him practically invincible. He could not be killed by ordinary means. This and the fact that his level of combat skills were unparalleled made him a force to be reckoned with.

"My dear sweet Darien, that was not nice. If you wanted to play roughly you had only needed to say the word" Kerr said with a smug smile.

Maxwell who was stiff as a tree couldn't help but gaze at demon lord Kerr.

Demon lord Kerr was a stunning sight to behold. His midnight black hair and black eyes suited him quite well. Black next to red was the only other highly esteemed color in the demon world.

"Kerr, shut up. Maxwell I do not like repeating myself. Where. Is. My. Son?" Darien's voice boomed with anger.

"Lord Darien I'm ashamed to say, but I have no idea where young Riley is." Maxwell answered with his head still lowered and his wings on full display.

Kerr after hearing what was said lost all sense of playfulness and his already dark eyes turned even darker. Those black eyes once serious were not to be trifled with.

The room was once again filled with a deadly silence.

Vincent stood up knowing it was time to take action.
