It was quite a very astonishing and fearing sight. What was once a grassy field had turned into deep charcoal black grounds, mist of smoke and ash rising from the remains. from afar, he could see some trees having caught in the radius and were left blackened and barren of their once life filled glory. What a terrifying sight indeed.
And all it took was this single boy laying unconscious on the ground?
Ho-oh never thought he'd see this kind of power again. For centuries and millennials, this kind of power was forced to be forgotten by the world. A chain that binds the hearts and souls of both Pokémon and humans together, giving both a kind of connection between one another.
He barely remembered what it could do for both human and Pokémon, but among all of it is that it could make both kinds stronger and sharper than the have been. And creating a connection between them that brought them closer.
Ho-oh stared at the boy in contemplation of the situation. He had been told earlier about a few days ago of an upcoming phenomenon that would cause a slight shift in the planet. Small at first, but it would grow greatly as the time went on. And never did he thought this boy would be the one to awaken this power.
However, It does not mean it's permanent. From what he knew, there are other things in this chain that posed challenges, to see how far the bonds would go. Not to mention, the chain connects to both human and Pokémon as an actual link. Each other can feel the other's emotions, as well as their pain. What's more was that it was both a blessing...and a curse. A very, very heavy curse.
Ho-oh could remember the many souls that had perished during and after the time of the Supreme War, a war that had brought great chaos in the land of the mortals as great beings clashed against one another. Ho-oh still bore a weight from that war, as many lives had lost that day. As well as the lost of a dear friend.
'Caden Fayte...' he mused, 'What would this journey make out of you and Ash?'
"Hey, wait up!"
Ho-oh looked up and sees a Spearow and a human girl with red hair coming towards his direction. The one thing about this Spearow had brought interest to him was ever since the legendary had...well...disposed the Fearow who had tried to harm the unconscious boy despite the delusional tyrant's injuries. After doing so, all the flocks fled out of terror and panic. All but this one that is.
It was an odd sight. Those eyes, despite the fear in them, held curiosity and keen observance as the Spearow stared back to his. And to think this is the same Spearow that should've led the flock this place in that storm. Ho-oh is slightly intrigued of this outcome.
Though, he did question himself if this was that same Spearow, especially the way they just jittered and stuttered under that stone composure.
Ho-oh shook his head dismissingly. He has other things to focused on than wonder about things.
He watched as the human girl looked to him in shock. That is to be expected, humans rumored of him as a majestic bird that brings eternal happiness to all those who sees him-
"That's...a very big bird,"
-or a never before seen Pokémon that she had no clue about. Again, this is to be expected.
"I am either hallucinating, or am I seeing the actual Ho-oh before my eyes," voiced out a seemingly sick Pikachu, eyes wide as if not believing the sight of the Legendary before him.
"You must be Ash's Pikachu," Ho-oh spoke, then turned to the unconscious boy, "Or would it be an insult to say you're currently young Caden's,"
The mouse didn't get to answer when he felt Misty shifted as the girl rushed to the downed boy.
"Kid!" the Waterflower yelled in worry as she knelt down with her knees on the uncomfortable ashy ground next to the boy. Carefully carrying the Pikachu with one arm and sliding off the additional weights on her other arm, she reached out and pressed two fingers at the kid's neck to check his heartbeat. She was rewarded with the feeling of a steady pulse.
"He's okay," Misty breathed out in relief, glad to see the kid still alive.
However...
Misty looked all over the destruction that had taken place. She couldn't make sense of what had transpired here, it was almost unnerving to think of. One thing for sure, she knew she would have to file this if she gets back to the Cerulean City Gym.
'Hooray for paperwork,' she thought depressingly, being the one to experience the horrors at such a young age.
Meanwhile, Ho-oh watched her with a stoic look before glancing at the lone Spearow a leeway beside him.
"Your former flock is now gone, you are now free to fly on your own," Ho-oh then looked up at the sight of a rainbow, knowing he would be leaving shortly, "Mind if I ask this: what will you do now?"
Spearow glanced at the Legendary bird, finding it odd for a great Pokémon like Ho-oh to asked a mere Flying-Type like Spearow himself such question.
"I...I don't know," Spearow answered, eyes darting down the ground under his talons, "I dreamed to travel beyond the lands I know, but where to start is a decision I haven't made...or that was what I thought at least,"
Ho-oh just nodded and said nothing more. Truly an astounding small being. It is not everyday you would see such mind and dream in....what did the humans call this? Route One? Yes, that's the name. It is not everyday you encounter such thing in this Route One, may it be a human or a Pokémon. Or in this young Spearow nonetheless.
"Why are you curious about me and my choices?" Spearow asked suspiciously and turned his attention to the large Flying-Type, "I am nothing more but a common Spearow,"
'One that had tried to harm this boy,' Spearow thought to himself.
"A common Spearow you are, but one with a seeking wonder for understanding," Ho-oh said, smiling with a vast fondness, "It is true that we, beings above all, are marvelous and majestic, aspiring and empowering, enlightening and greatly praised.
"However, that does not mean we, both Legendary and Mythical, don't appreciate what you Pokémon can provide to the world we all lived in. It is what makes life, and connection between humans and Pokémon, a fascinating sight and an experience to behold," The fire bird spread his wings and with a big gust, took the skies before glancing back, "The world is small, but it holds so many possibilities and wonders. And also, be sure to give that feather to the boy if you can,"
Spearow watched as the Legendary flew towards the rainbow, a majestic sight that many Pokémon would stare in awe.
"Wait-aw, man,"
Spearow glanced at the human girl, who was kneeling next to the unconscious boy who's head rested on her lap, slumped her head and shoulders with that red metal box in hand. Those things, in his knowledge, were used to understand what species of Pokémon it was pointed to. He then shifted his gaze to the Pikachu who was now placed on those usable cocoons next to the boy, back turned against him.
*Vrrrrrr....*
If Spearow have actual ears, they would be perking as a distant noise sounding like a growl of a Magnemite coming from somewhere. He stretched out his wings and was about to leave before pausing. He turned to the humans before looking to that green carrier they bring around.
He pondered for a while, then turned.
He had decided where his first step will be to start his journey.
