Chapter 188 - Vol. 5: Chp. 188 When Heaven Crumbles

'...This should be… impossible!'

Floating in the far distance, a woman with brown hair and a white dress looked on with a distressed visage, nearly incapable of believing what was visible before her. Mass destruction of the heavens, the Realm being torn apart piece by piece.

Further examination revealed that the woman was the goddess Aphrodite, who had previously been tasked with keeping a watchful eye on Tanjo. She had returned to the Realm because a sign of distress had alerted her, as had several others.

Aphrodite watched on as the army of Valkyries was decimated by one man. Before this moment, it was thought to have been implausible—entirely unfeasible—to even damage the Realm to any degree. The Realm was an infinite dimension that lifted every universe in the multiverse—it was a gateway for souls bereaved of their own lives to enter a protected sanctum for all of eternity; however, it was in total chaos.

'Wait…' Aphrodite's labored breathing ceased momentarily, her eyes dilating at a new discovery. 'That man… he's from the same universe as Tanjo!'

Fear struck the goddess in unparalleled proportions, her eyes broadening.

Aphrodite observed as the fight proceeded gruesomely, the bodies of numerous Valkyries crashing into the unlevel ground lifelessly. Shockingly, there was someone who was not a Valkyrie who caught Aphrodite's eye, and that individual happened to be Hades, the lava-orange-haired god himself, struggling greatly to subdue the brown-haired fiend.

"Even a god can't overpower him…" The beautiful goddess reflected, daunted.

The goddess didn't dare to step into the fray of the battle; she had been dutifully tasked with maintaining a vigilant eye on the jet-black-haired boy Tanjo, so she could not endanger her responsibility haphazardly.

Indeed, that's her reasoning. Kronos certainly would not be disappointed if she refused to assist a fellow god…

"Come on! Is this all a god has to offer?" Regashi shouted, unleashing a mighty slap with the back of his hand, which sent Hades through the air.

The aggravated god landed on the ground roughly. Though his hair was set ablaze, signifying his hostility, his temper was hotter than anything. Hades, no matter what he did in the heat of battle, could not land a single solid blow on the supposed mortal in front of him.

Most of the Valkyries had been slain, the surviving warriors hesitant to incite Regashi's audacious wrath any further—the brown-haired male was playing with them, but he was simply too powerful to conquer.

"What are you!?" Hades hollered, his bark certainly mightier than his bite. "You are no human!"

Regashi's lips were tugged downward into a faux frown. "How rude, asking questions after you already attempted to take me out!"

Regashi sent a wave of invisible, impending power through the air with a careless flick of his finger, aimed at Hades. The ground was destroyed as the attack grew stronger by the second, prompting Hades to raise his arms and shield himself with a wall of his orange fissures that tore space apart.

*KRRSHH!*

Hades raised his head, noticing that the air cracks had prevented Regashi's attack from colliding with his body. Throughout the battle, Hades' only power that had achieved anything was his Disruption of Reality, a power that, as the name implies, disrupts reality. If it is a concept of the reality of a universe, the Disruption of Reality would destroy it. Physics, for example, is a concept that is significantly eclipsed with this ability, and the power was proving to be a great asset against Regashi.

"Yeesh, not even Tadashi managed to do that…" Regashi rubbed his chin curiously, his other hand on his hip.

XXX

Back with Aphrodite, the goddess had noticed how the Disruption of Reality had a positive effect with clashing against Regashi's unfathomable power.

"...So his attacks aren't entirely unstoppable…" Aphrodite voiced quietly, still immensely astonished at the continuing series of events. "Perhaps he isn't a second Reiwa, after all."

XXX

Hades hated everything as of this moment, his heart thumping incessantly and his body shaking uncontrollably. Was it fear that invaded Hades' mind? If it was, the god would never let himself fall in such a cowardly manner—not in a million years.

"No more tricks, boy! Cease your playing and fight me—hand-to-hand!" Hades roared, his body tense.

Regashi gazed at Hades with a lingering stare, standing still for multiple seconds. Finally, after a few moments, the brown-haired male smirked.

"How bold!" Regashi claimed, lowering his arms to his sides. "But so entitled: you lost in overall power, so you choose to level the amount of power used through a more primitive version of battle?"

Hades rolled his shoulders. "You just sound scared to engage!"

"...Fine."

The god grinned, cracking his knuckles. In all honesty, Hades did not expect Regashi to accept the brazen invitation to a mere fistfight, but the god could not squander the opportunity.

"So, are you going to swing first?" Regashi queried, looking on with interest.

The remaining Valkyries from before seemingly disengaged, stationed motionlessly in the air, far away from both Hades and Regashi.

"If that's what you want!" Hades began to holler, "then that's how it'll be!"

Hades took the initiative by lunging angrily at Regashi, launching a barrage of punches at the brown-haired male. Regashi responded by raising one hand and blocking every punch with his palm.

"I told you to stop with the tricks, boy! No more altering reality!" Hades demanded, angered that his punches were fruitless.

Regashi smiled. "I'm not doing a thing… swing harder!"

And so Hades did, infusing all of his strength into each of his swings, which only tired him further. Eventually, Hades lifted his right leg and attempted to slam it into Regashi, which was also blocked by the male.

"Stop blocking and fight back!"

*CRACK!*

In compliance, Regashi instantly rammed his knuckles into Hades' cheekbone, stunning the god temporarily.

"Like this!?" Regashi asked rhetorically, moving forward.

With ease, Regashi assaulted the god with an innumerable amount of punches, treating Hades' body like a ragdoll, meant to be beaten and thrashed around.

*CRASH!*

Almost as wildly as Regashi's cloak swinging back and forth, Hades was then clobbered into the uneven ground of the Realm, all of the fire in his hair diminishing immediately.

"What now!? You got what you wanted, you fiery oaf!" Regashi mocked, raising both of his arms.

Slowly, Hades picked himself up from the ground, limping as he stood tall once again. "I'm not done yet!"

Regashi's eyes brightened after hearing those words.

*CRUNCH!*

Regashi tore through Hades' torso with only his hand, ripping the god apart internally, with insatiable curiosity. Hades' eyes widened in disbelief as blood spurted from his mouth.

"Would you look at that… you excited me too much." Regashi admitted, retracting his hand from Hades' torso.

The god stumbled backwards, clenching the hole in his body. 'Why am I not healing!?'

"I must ask," Regashi spoke out, "do gods go to heaven, too?"

Hades then slipped to the ground, his eyes darkening. It was far too late for the god to escape, from either Regashi or the massive wound in his torso.

"...Kronos… kill this bastard!"

The god, after some struggle, soon faded away.

Regashi stared at the god's lifeless body, his eyes no longer shining vibrantly. After entering the Realm for what felt like five minutes, he had already shattered the infinite dimension entirely, ending the lives of many as well. It definitely did not resemble heaven any more.

"...Now to find my way back home in all this mess."

XXX

Horror flooded her mind as Aphrodite witnessed Hades' death. A whole new threat, one that may be as perilous if not more so than Reiwa Takuetsu, has appeared abruptly, and, sadly, Aphrodite could do nothing about it.

Surely, the goddess would have been killed just like Hades and the Valkyries had she joined the fight.

Suddenly, a thought slipped into the front of her mind: 'I have to tell Kronos! It's unsafe to go anywhere with that man around!'

XXX

Despite its shortness, it's going to allow me to continue with the story without any more needless dialogue or clashing! I really do hope you enjoyed this, and, even though Hades has barely made himself known, what he participated in will shape the story indefinitely. What will happen next? What will Regashi do now? What has Tanjo been up to during these recent events? Stay tuned for more!

Have a Great Day!
