Chapter 74 - Vol. 2: Chp. 74 Coordinated Moves

Returning back to the holy village of Ryakudatsu, we can still see Instructor Oshieru and Akushon going up against the Furusato member, Gimu. Even after Akushon's valiant attempt to subdue the unknown man, his smile remained.

Oshieru tightened his grip on his tachi sword's hilt. It was now going to be two on one. The odds were in their favor, right? No matter the odds, the instructors had to get to their students. It's their job to keep them safe as instructors.

"Stay focused, Oshieru." Akushon suddenly said to the blue-haired instructor, breaking Oshieru out of his thoughts.

Oshieru nodded. "Yes, right. Thank you." Being on edge will not be helpful in a fight. Especially one like this.

Gimu, who was standing still a few feet away from the instructors, sighed in annoyance. He's growing tired of waiting. "Come on! Don't make me wait!" It was getting cold out, after all.

"Hey," Oshieru called out to Akushon. The red-aura sense instructor glanced over to Oshieru, a questioning look on his face. "...Do you remember our favorite move we always used back in our academy days?"

Akushon seemed to know what Oshieru was talking about, especially since his eyes glinted with a slight remembrance. Akushon clicked his tongue at the blue-aura sense instructor. "Really? Of course, I do." But why would Oshieru bring that up now? Wait. He wasn't insinuating that they use it now, was he?

Oshieru smirked slightly. At least he wasn't worried anymore. "With how this guy can analyze us, it might prove to be useful." So he was insinuating such a thing.

Considering the situation, they probably didn't have much longer until this unknown man would eventually decide to initiate the fight himself. So, with that in mind, Akushon made a reluctant decision. "Fine." With a grunt, of course.

Both of the instructors steadied themselves, rubbing their feet into the ground in preparation to dash forward. Akushon poured magic into his legs as Oshieru did the same, but instead of putting it into his legs, he directed the flow of his aura sense to his blade. He didn't want to break his legs now. Gimu was also prepared to clash, hunching over and twirling his blade in his right hand. Excitement was brewing within the Furusato Unit member.

"Finally! I was beginning to think you guys were chickening out!" Gimu hollered, eyeing both of the instructors. Gimu really has to learn to keep his emotions in check.

Suddenly, Oshieru darted toward Gimu alone. With a heavy swing, Oshieru's blade collided with Gimu's, even causing his feet to slide from the force of the impact. Oshieru then shoved Gimu's sword to the side with his own, giving Oshieru the perfect opportunity to jump up, removing his left hand from the hilt of his tachi blade and directing his palm upward toward the sky. Without a moment's notice, a blue genso-kyu began to form in Oshieru's hand.

As Oshieru was in mid-air, he spun his tachi blade around, making the blade face downward. Then, once Oshieru was ready, he exerted a beam from the genso-kyu, propelling the blue-aura sense instructor down to the ground. As Oshieru was flying down, he aimed his blade at Gimu and sliced, only managing to cut Gimu's arm as the Furusato Unit member went to block with his own Kanji-marked blade.

As Oshieru hit the ground, the dirt from the path they were fighting on flew up, momentarily blinding Gimu from his surroundings. It was as if a cloud formed all around him. Once Gimu balanced himself, he suddenly saw two Bowie knives emerge from the cloud of dirt, prompting him to move his head to the side. Shortly after the knives flew by, Akushon then appeared, running out from the cloud of dirt. Immediately, Gimu noticed two strings of red aura shoot out of Akushon's hands. What was shocking, was that the string that shot out didn't even try to hit Gimu, but to only shoot right by him.

"Hah! You missed!" Gimu yelled out, readying his blade to strike the red-aura sense instructor.

With an expression that lacked enough emotion, Akushon replied with a question that confused Gimu, "Did I?"

Then, Akushon tightly gripped the two strings, yanking them back. Gimu had very little time to dodge as the two Bowie knives that had once sped past him had returned at a rapid speed. As both of the knives returned, they left clean cuts on both Gimu's shoulder and cheek. Good thing for Gimu's speed. That would've certainly been fatal.

With the cloud of dirt practically dissipated, Gimu could see Oshieru slash his tachi blade at him from behind. 'These guys are trying to bait me into falling into their next attacks! Damn it!' Gimu mentally noted, cursing in anger. 'These pussies must've planned this out when they were making me wait for so long!'

Gimu quickly redirected the tip of his blade to face downward, twisting his torso back to block Oshieru's slash. Gimu then extended his hand out, allowing a yellow aura to encompass his whole hand. Gimu then thrust his hand toward Oshieru, allowing a beam of his own magic to shoot toward Oshieru. The beam hit the instructor directly in the shoulder, knocking him back a few feet.

As Gimu dashed toward the knocked-down Oshieru, the blue-haired instructor adopted a hardened expression. "I think now would be the right time, Akushon!" Oshieru yelled, alerting Gimu and making him halt.

Gimu looked back in an attempt to see the red-aura sense instructor, only to realize that he wasn't in sight anymore. A bright red light then shone from above, prompting Gimu to snap his head upward. 'Shit.'

Akushon, who replaced his right hand's Bowie knife with a newly formed genso-kyu, could be seen reeling his arm that contains the genso-kyu back in preparation to send off a beam of red aura. Footsteps could also then be heard behind Gimu, notifying Gimu of Oshieru's sudden dash. It seems that Oshieru formed another genso-kyu of his own, ultimately trapping Gimu between the two in a matter of seconds. As the two instructors were quickly closing in, Oshieru yelled, "Now!"

*BOOM*

Two differently colored aura senses came to an immediate clash as the two instructors shot out a blast from their genso-kyu's at their opponent, Gimu. The result of the attack was a giant bright ball forming in the middle of the two beams. Eventually, the blast calmed down, dissipating into nothingness.

"D-did we get him?" Oshieru could be heard questioning through the falling debris caused by the blast. A cough or two eliciting from his throat.

Akushon, who was busy standing back up from landing onto the ground, glanced up to where Gimu originally was. With the debris gone, they still had no sight of Gimu. 'Not good.'

"Hey," A familiar voice suddenly called out, garnering the attention of the two instructors. Standing only a mere few feet away, almost at the edge of the pathway they were standing on, Gimu remained. But, something was different. Gimu's hair was slightly gray, with a few of the strands transitioning from their original brown to a dark gray. Another thing was that yellow veins that looked like mini tendrils were bulging out from inside Gimu's arms and tracing all the way up to his eyes, where the instructors could see that his exposed pupil was also changing, becoming a slightly brighter yellow. "...I'm still standing!"

To the instructors' shock, Gimu looked relatively unharmed. He had a few dark patches on his skin from being slightly roughed up, along with those cuts from Oshieru and Akushon's attacks from earlier.

Gimu took a slow step forward, alerting both of the instructors. Gimu then parted his lips to speak out loud, "Why don't we finish this? I feel refreshed!" That doesn't sound good to either Oshieru or Akushon.

Suddenly, when Gimu took another step forward, a battle cry could be heard, "HRAAGH!"

Gimu glanced in the direction of a newcomer. Surprisingly enough, it was Haishi, the chief warrior of Buraun. Haishi sliced at Gimu with his glowing sword, prompting Gimu to jump back. Shockingly, Gimu was able to move fast enough to the point where his body practically vanished in an instant.

After reappearing a few feet away, Gimu growled in anger. Of course, someone just had to intrude on his fight. He's been longing for a fight. Could you blame him? After walking for a long time in a forest, only to be told to wait for the majority of the day once they finally arrived at their destination, all because his king was looking…for…the…'Shit!' Gimu suddenly cursed.

He had just remembered! The only reason he was out here was to find those brats! Gimu foolishly let his emotions get out of control once again. Regashi was right; he did have a bad temper.

"Are you alright, guys?" Haishi asked the instructors, keeping his eyes on the currently enraged Gimu.

Oshieru nodded, answering for the both of them, "Yeah, we're both okay."

Gimu, on the other hand, forced himself to steel his emotions. "On second thought," The Furusato Unit member suddenly spoke. "...I have to depart." Gimu declared, looking back at the two instructors he faced. "I hope you stay alive long enough for me to kill you." And with those words, Gimu dashed off in a direction that no one present could decipher. His new speed was remarkable.

"Haishi," Akushon called out to the chief warrior, prompting Haishi to look in the black and blonde-haired instructor's direction. "We have to get to the students, do you know where they might be?"

Hey! I hope you enjoyed the conclusion of the fight between the instructors and Gimu! If you didn't expect that ending, then what ending were you hoping for? It's still early in the story! Of course, our guy Gimu, nor the instructors could just die like that! Right?

Have a Great Day!
