The steely silence was punctuated by the soft crunch of sand under someone's feet. Luo Muchen appeared, his silhouette framed by the moonlight, carrying two ice cream cones that seemed to glow against the darkness. He settled beside his man with one of the ice creams dripping slowly down the cone.
"I got your favourite," said Luo Muchen as he glanced down to find a place to sit. He wanted to sit right by Qie Xieling but he saw there was a cushion in the way.
"Baby, can you move it for me? My hands are full," he asked and Qie Xieling moved it out of the way.
He sat down and handed one of them to Qie Xieling. The sweet scent of vanilla and matcha wafting up made Qie Xieling's mouth water. "Thanks, babe," said Qie Xieling with a smile tugging at his lips.
As Luo Muchen settled down, he felt a drip of ice cream slide down onto his fingers. "This is really nice. When did you plan all of this?" asked Qie Xieling while Luo Muchen was looking for a napkin.
