SELENE
I felt my consciousness slowly coming back as I scrunched my nose and my eyes remained shut, not wanting the sun's rays to blind me as I seemed to have forgotten to cover my windows with the new curtains I just bought the other day since I had the last ones in the laundry basket. I felt something warm beside me but shrugged it off, thinking that I might still be half asleep or if I'm not, then it's probably just Onyx snuggling with me again like he always does and decided to just go back to sleep since it's still Sunday.
However, I realized rather quickly that Onyx is but a small puppy, he can't possibly be this big, I also feel something around my waist.
My eyes quickly shot open only to see a man around my age hugging me, his face resting unto my chest as I had my arms wrapped around his head and his own around my stomach. I blinked once and then twice out of confusion. I am confusion. That's not a grammatical error or something, I was referencing a meme I liked. I furrowed my brows, suddenly rethinking life.
'Maybe I'm still dreaming?' I thought to myself but then it took me a while to realize that I was in fact, pretty much awake.
Wait, then that means that this guy is real? I blinked twice once again before realization came over me, my face immediately heating up, biting my lip before, "Kyaaaa! Who the hell are you!? Get the hell off of me, you pervert!" I screamed loudly and pushed the male away from me before kicking him immediately with enough force that he fell off the bed with a loud thud and a groan.
"Son of a-" I heard a male voice spoke as I heard shuffling from below the bed while I quickly scampered and went to the furthest edge of the bed away from the pervert.
Before he even got to stand up and speak again, I quickly cut him off by doing it myself, "You disgusting vile deviant! Get out of my room! How the hell did you even get in here, huh!? What are you planning to do!? What do you want!?" I yelled loudly while I covered myself with the blanket and a pillow, holding it close to me for dear life.
"And wear some clothes or cover yourself at the very least before talking to me or explaining, vile pervert!" I once again yelled at him after noting that he was only wearing his pants and has no shirt covering the upper half of his body, letting his stomach and chest be exposed to the whole world, "Bold of you to be only in your pants and shirtless inside a girl's room, more or less, in my room! I can sue you! I can press charges! My dad owns the Deus del Luna Lawfirm and my brothers are studying law! I can really sue your butt so hard that you'll live in prison for the rest of your pervy life!" I added when he didn't speak yet, much to my confusion but I still took the chance to give him a piece of my mind anyway.
"Quit yelling at me, woman!" He yelled back, seemingly annoyed and not appreciating being yelled at which caught me off-guard, how dare he!?
"How dare you make demands!? How dare you cuddle and snuggle me too!? Don't you dare yell at me, you're in my apartment! How did you even get in here anyway!? I locked the doors!" I, needless to say, yelled again, pointing out the fact that I've done everything I could to make sure I'm safe inside my own apartment just in case some random thug or pervert decided to pay me a random unpleasant visit during the night as I sleep soundlessly, relishing in the comfort my bed, pillows and blankets can provide, "And put on some clothes, dammit!" I told him, it was basically a demand since it seems like he has some kind of habit of enjoying walking around a girl's room without a shirt to cover him, given that he just walked to my bedroom window and stared at the sun before he finally spoke up in a deep and smooth voice.
"You're acting like a fucking Karen." He spoke, further surprising me as he said it without even facing me as I stared on his back with a dumbfounded and confused look on my face, not even sure myself how to react to that comment he just made.
When I finally regained the will to react, I shouted at him with an obviously offended tone, "What the heck!? Don't you dare compare me to those!" I normally wouldn't care about being compared to someone else but being compared to a Karen who thinks she's always right and refuses to admit she's wrong? Now that's offensive!
"Also, quit acting like you're surprised," He replied, finally turning to me, his face blank, "You were the one hugging me and putting my face in your damn chest. I almost couldn't even breathe thanks to you." He said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Hey, that's sexual harassment! This is an outrage! Damn, I hate you already!" I yelled back at him, staring at him with the most angered look in my face I can muster while maintaining eye contact, when I looked into his eyes, I felt a certain familiarity, it was like I've seen him before, "Wait a second, you..." I paused, trying to recognize him and taking note of his appearance while trying my best not to look at his body and only look at his face to try and recognize him and where I saw him along with when I saw him and that was when it hit me, those narrow and glowing golden eyes, spiky brown hair, perfect and sharp jawline, pointed nose and that resting bitch face. There's no mistaking it, I can't be wrong, I'm never wrong! It's him.
"You're the man at Sheila's party!" I finally said after fully recognizing him, pointing a finger at him as I sat up, not leaning on the bedframe anymore, "The one who talked to me while I was drinking the dreaded liquid poison! The one who quietly disappeared as quick as he appeared!"
"Oh, so you do remember me, Miss I-have-low-alcohol-tolerance?" He smirked at the new nickname he gave me as I gave him an unamused look. I wasn't at all impressed with his nickname, so I glared at him.
"Ha-ha, funny. Don't call me that again."
"Now that I thought about it, I never did get your name, huh? Mind telling me about it given that we already cuddled and slept together?" He said smirking wider as he inched closer to the bed, dragging a couch behind him and stopping once he was right in front of me, sitting at the couch. Geez, how strong is this guy?
"Cuddled and slept together? You know if you put it like that, you'll cause a misunderstanding. I'd rather not have any more rumors spreading about me and keep my dignity, thank you very much, o kind sir."
"I like your sass. So, you're going to tell me your name or not?" He said making me sigh, finally giving up for a while.
"It's Selene. My name is Selene Jade Young." I told him, introducing myself in a rather conservative fashion, not telling him anything more than he asked since why should I? "Although I thought everyone at school already knows my name."
"I see, so you're 'the' Selene Young, huh? Well, Selene, I'm not everyone," He said as he chuckled before resting his chin on one hand, "Your name's Selene, huh? Like the goddess of the moon Selene." He remarked, staring right at me as I just nodded at him even if I'm unsure about the origin of my name. The important thing is, I have a name, not its origin. I'm not even sure why I'm named like that, all I know is that mom came up with that name even before I was born since they calculated that I'd be born at a full moon or something along those lines.
"So, are you going to tell me your name too? After all, it's only fair for you to introduce yourself to a girl you cuddled and slept on the same bed uninvited with. It's proper manners and apparently, you seem to obviously lack some." I said in a monotoned voice, still slightly annoyed at him and his attitude although I do admit that I like his approval of my sarcastic personality, given that he just gave another smirk before he chuckled yet again.
"The name's Night." He said as if it was his one and only name, I gestured for him to continue with my gaze but I gave up and just spoke when he just shrugged.
"Just Night?
"Yeah."
"You're worse than I thought."
"Why?"
"I gave you my full name, I'm expecting to receive the same from you, Mister I-have-no-proper-manners." I sighed, copying his thoughtful gesture of coming up with a random annoying nickname to give me.
"Don't call me that, I told you my name."
"I'll do whatever I want and say whatever I want." I told him with a blank face, "I don't call the people I just met with their first names, I think it's rude for me to do so. So unless you give me your full name and last name, then I'll refer to you with some nicknames I can come up with." I said making him growl and narrow his eyes at me. It might've just been my imagination but his eyes seemed to glow for a second before he shrugged and decided to finally answer me.
"If you want to marry me, no need to be cryptic about it, sweet cheeks. Instead of saying that you want me to give you my full name and surname, just tell me you want to marry me." He smirked as I once again gave him a dumbfounded and confused look before massaging my temples, feeling a headache coming up just because I'm talking with this guy for a few minutes. I can already feel my energy draining.
"Just kidding, Princess. Night Ethan Clark. That's my full name but I'd prefer you calling me by my first name, no formalities or honorifics also, given that I refer to you by your first name despite us being technically strangers."
"I see. All right, I'll call you by your first name." I answered, I've heard that name before, I'm sure of it, "Are you a classmate of mine in a subject? I'm sure I've heard one of my professors call that name before. But I'm not sure which one."
"We have all the same classes, idiot. We're classmates." Night said, stretching as if he just woke up and yawned. Well, he did just woke up with a good old push, kick and small fall to the floor from the bed, courtesy by yours truly. But I don't really feel bad about it. I felt violated after all.
"Ah, I see. But how come I never saw you at school and I've only seen you at Sheila's dreaded party?" I asked, confused.
"Because I don't always go to class. I always just usually hang around the rooftop or just anywhere around the campus but if I do go to class, I'd sit at the furthest end away from every human and just sleep." He answered with a bored look in his face. I wanted to ask why he refers to others as 'humans' but then again, for the few moments I've known him, it seems that he's an eccentric guy so I didn't question it. Maybe he's a chuunibyou. You know, those people who are convinced that they are some kind of magical beings with magical powers or something like that which I mostly prefer to not be around with all the time. I was about to stand up, go downstairs and prepare breakfast for both me and this guy because I'm so kind when I thought about something.
"Wait," I said, trying to temporarily pause our little introduction and conversation, "Where's my puppy?" I asked, concerned since I haven't seen Onyx in a while.
"Seriously? That's what you're concerned about?" He asked with furrowed brows and a scowl. Geez, the attitude of this guy.
"Of course I am! Onyx is my dog! I've only had him for a few days!" I said, feeling myself start to panic. I get easily attached and it's one of my weaknesses but I'm way more attached to Onyx that I feel like I might cry, jump or break down!
"Now, you're worse than I thought," Night said, copying what I previously told him which did sort of offended me, by the way, before he continued, "I thought you realized it already."
"Well, I didn't, okay? Realize what? Now, stop talking in dang riddles and just start answering me already!"
"It's me."
"What? You're what?"
"I'm the puppy." He said, clicking his tongue right after saying that as if he's annoyed.
"Of course, you are." I said and rolled my eyes while getting out of the comfortable and warm covers before I realized what he just said and immediately processed it with the best of my ability, turning to him immediately with a shocked look in my face, "Wait, what!?"
