Chapter 13 - questioning

"So, Victoria got lost in the forest after doing narcotics and called you to go get her?" Elizabeth Forbes squinted her eyes as she scribbled on a small notepad.

"Umm," Jeremy nodded silently.

Jeremy looked down, his eyes twitching and showing shock. Jeremy's his skin was pale completely, much whiter than normal

"So, did you find the body?" Elizabeth asked once again looking deep into Jeremy's eyes.

She searched his expression for any sign of a lie. But, all she could see was real fear and shock from a child who had just been traumatized.

Sighing, Elizabeth scratched the notebook once more and closed it. Her eyes flicked to Jeremy's bed to where a pale-faced Vicky Donovan sat.

She had a blanket over her body and was shivering. Her hair was a little wet making Liz sure that Vicky had taken a shower before the police arrived. She then looked directly into Vicky's eyes and realized they were also completely lost in something Liz couldn't fully see.

It was a sea of fear and detachment to the point of reaching transcendence of consciousness. a look from someone who was in the final state of an addict or who has suffered permanent trauma

Liz leaned towards the bed kneeling in front of Vicky taking Vicky's hands gently and looking straight into Vicky's eyes, "Victoria, that was the story? Are you sure about that?"

Vicky brought her dead eyes to Liz and nodded. Vicky didn't say a single word. Only her body trembled and her eyes kept fluttering, not once looking one way or the other

it was very clear that Liz was trying to get to a very crucial point in the story. a point that Vicky who was a very smart girl has already noticed from afar. For having experience with this type of case as she was drugged with boys and girls many times and almost none of them were as gentle as Jeremy

Vicky would not create evidence for herself or Jeremy.

Liz in turn squinted her eyes again asking Vicky. She looked smug, such a weak response Vicky gave. even the victim was in shock. There would still be a stronger answer.

Unless the victim was being threatened. She glanced sideways at Jeremy, avoiding as much as he could noticing that she was looking at him.

Liz didn't want to suspect the son of her dead friends who were big city personalities even if Anonymous, they kept the city safe from the plagues called vampires

"Victoria, we need to take you to the police station to do some tests, are you coming with us?" Liz asked calmly

Her eyes landed on Vicky with complete attention. she was looking for the smallest of clues that what she suspected happened.

Although she wishes Vicky wouldn't even give a sign and she only found her body when she was drugged in the woods and called Jeremy to go get her.

Jeremy looked at the back of Liz's head through narrowed eyes. He realized right away that Liz was suspicious of him. Perhaps the incident at the park where he almost killed Elena gave clues to Liz that Jeremy was a vampire.

He clenched his fist and small sparks of electricity started to fly across the room, they didn't spark visible to human eyes, but it was clear that they would do some damage if they touched someone.

Jeremy's eyes locked on the back of Liz's head with the only thought of if I kill her then I'll save myself in trouble in the future.

The tension in the air was so strong that within a few minutes the lamps began to blink when they were hit by the sparks and began to blink. The officers in the room looked around with a bit of trepidation as they saw the lights flicker.

Jeremy then made the move to raise his hand and send a small wave of electrical energy over Liz killing her with a heart attack.

'Jeremy, are you coming today? you know, see your parents at the cemetery?' A moment before he made his decision, a blonde appeared in Jeremy's mind calling him to go to the cemetery.

His eyes snapped open and sparkled as he remembered such a memory to the point where he bit his lip and relaxed his body. His gaze was neutral again.

The surrounding guards form the targets of the sacred face when they feel a shiver when they see the lights flashing a while ago that ended up making them not notice the face that Jeremy made to Liz.

If not, they would have quickly noticed something odd about Jeremy.

Jeremy nodded to Vicky discreetly earning a glint in the eye from the girl who accepted Liz's proposal to go to the police station with a nod.

Outside the bedroom. they were Elena and Jenna at two arguing with the cops. Elena was calmer just looking at the scene as a whole

She knew the cops wouldn't do anything to Jeremy at Gilbert's house if they knew he was a vampire. Not among everyone.

Jenna was annoyed with red eyes as she pointed her finger at the chest of the officer who was at the door preventing her from entering her nephew's room.

"You can't do this. Jeremy needs support, my support, get out" Jenna growled at the cop

"Ma'am, we can't do this" The policeman held up his hands apologetically and tried to calm Jenna down "your nephew is not a suspect, you don't have to worry"

"I don't need to worry my nephew is stuck in his room with 3 cops plus the sheriff and I don't need to worry?" Jenna gritted her teeth aggressively releasing her voice and leaning forward causing the cop to back away. "Don't you dare tell me no and worry"

"Ma'am-- please calm down" The policeman backed away slamming his back on the door as he tried to calm Jenna by making a hand signal for her to stop moving forward.

He looked from side to side with frightened eyes showing that he wasn't prepared to deal with someone excited to the point that her hand itched and he clenched his wrist.

"Come on Aunt Jenna-- calm down" Elena didn't miss it and stepped in front of Jenna putting her hand on her chest and pulling her away from the policeman. Elena pulled Jenna to a safe distance from the police officer as she sighed in relief.

"Elena what are you doing?" Jenna broke free from Elena's grip as she reached the front of Elena's room.

Elena looked both ways for police officers nearby and then looked directly into Jenna's face.

"that cop would hit you if you don't back off" Elena complained turning her eyes to the cop standing at Jeremy's door

"I know-- that's why I did it" Jenna bit her lip as she shook her head with an annoyed look "We have to get Jeremy out of there"

Elena shook her head. Was Jenna crazy? did she want to be hit? Elena didn't understand and asked, "Why would you do that?"

"We have to get Jeremy out of there" Jenna gripped Elena's shoulders tightly making her niece flinch "we know they went into the woods to be alone"

"Yeah what about it?" Elena asked "I don't think that's a big deal. They just found the body! (I believe)"

Jenna sighed as she hugged Elena to make it look like a scene of a mother crying over the oppression of a child being framed by the police unjustly

"If Vicky has a single drug trace in her system and it's proven she had sex before finding the body-- Jeremy could be arrested for vulnerable rape" Jenna replied in Elena's ear causing the girl to shiver

"What? But? She's always stoned and having sex with everyone!" Elena crossed her arms with a grimace and then her eyes flashed with an idea. The hand went to her head and she gulped "Damn! Jeremy will be screwed if she had sex with someone else before Jeremy"

"Did you see why we have to get Jeremy out of there?" Jenna replied with the corner of her mouth twitching "Jeremy is going to be screwed anyway and he can't go to jail"

'If he goes to jail it's going to be a disaster' At the same time they thought 'he's going to eat everyone in there (literally)'

Jenna and Elena then nodded to each other and headed towards the guard once more with a mission in mind. they had to make that guard attack one of them.

It wasn't an option but the only choice they had. If Jeremy goes to jail it's all over for him First he would be discovered as a vampire and second it would be in statewide news maybe even in the world that a vampire has dried up all over a prison

When at two they arrived in front of Jeremy's door. The door opened causing the guard to step out of the way and let out a sigh. at two they stopped right away when they saw Liz beside Vicky who had a dead look on her face.

"We will?" Liz took the lead and Vicky nodded following her

"Sorry to inconvenience" Liz walked past Jenna and Elena with an apologetic nod and left. Elena received a nod from Vicky as her eyes shifted to dead fish and back for a second to something more aware of what she was doing.

Elena can read in Vicky's expression the word it's going to be okay and I haven't had sex with anyone. That's what Elena managed to read when she sighed and Relax

"Step out of the way" Jenna yelled, pushing the cop and stepping into Jeremy's room. "Jeremy are you okay?-- we have to talk seriously--did something happen between the two of you?-- Was Vicky on drugs?"

Elena glanced at the departing policeman, holding his shoulder and gave him a wry smile before stepping into Jeremy's room to join the rest of the family and scold Jeremy.
