"An earth magic user, a fire magic user, and a life magic-user. The last two will be wind users." Will muttered as he and Aiden saw Alex rising from the earth.
The reason Will had been able to predict the element of the last two men was because the men were using a standard war formation.
The life magic-user would heal the group, the fire magic user would throw major attacks and the earth magic user would act as a shield.
The wind magic users on the other hand were also called runners. Their only job was to make sure that they could take any important information they found, back to their base.
They would leave all of their teammates behind and would run away as fast as they could.
But currently, the wind magic-users just stood silently as they were assessing Alex. The oldest member of the group looked extremely calm despite having five grown-up men standing in front of him.
"Zoe, run away. You should go and call for reinforcements. I will try to hold them till that time." Even though it sounded as though Alex was only speaking to Zoe, he was actually telling this to Aiden and Will as well.
"He underestimates us too much." Will then sighed as he glanced at Zoe.
She had a calm expression on her face even as she got into a battle position.
"Alex, you are an idiot." She sighed while looking at Alex's shocked expression. "Why did you think that out of all the children in the academy, only the imperial class was chosen for this? It's not because we are privileged and will the future ruling families…"
She didn't finish her sentence as she already knew who would do it.
"It's because we are powerful." Both Aiden and Will said at the same time as the five men turned to look towards the bushes they were hiding in.
"Alex, with all due respect, stop thinking that we are as helpless as little children." Will sighed as he and Aiden walked out of the bushes.
The man who had caused the earthquake earlier took a sharp intake of breath when he looked at Aiden.
Pure black hair that went down to the nape of the neck and shining blood-red eyes.
'He is the child the boss asked us to look for.' The man thought as he turned to look at the faces of his companions who had also realized who Aiden was.
He was the demon king and queen's heir and was also the heir to the throne.
< You were right host. Their expressions changed the second they saw you. They are most probably here to take you. >
'But the question is, who is helping them from the inside?'
Aiden then took a deep breath as he could sense that there were no shadows around him. But he had already found out three ways to counter this problem.
The first way was the 'One with the Shadow' skill. But after maxing the skill out, Aiden had found out that the elemental energy required to use the skill was very high.
So unless he was stuck in a very dangerous situation, he wouldn't use it.
As for the second way…
"You guys are either just brain dead fools or you have a plan," Alex muttered while facepalming as the five men continued to look at Aiden.
"Hey, stop staring at him as though he is a god. I am much more handsome and powerful than this guy. Unless you guys like looking up to the weak, continue staring at him."
"Will, shut up for once," Alex replied as Will rolled his eyes.
"We will continue this discussion later. Let's defeat them first."
"Aren't you taking us too lightly brat?" The earth magic user's jaw twitched a little when he realized that the purple-haired kid had casually been saying that he and the three other people could easily defeat the five men.
"But I never said that. Do you have some kind of hearing problem?" Will asked with raised eyebrows as all of the men were now annoyed.
"Kids should know their place." The life magic-user said while he was getting ready to bless the other four men.
"I have no idea how powerful humans kids our age are but all I can say is that they must not be that strong. After all, you definitely underestimate us, just like Alex."
"Will, just do that," Aiden said with a sigh as he was tired of his friend's speaking style.
If Will wanted, he could make people spit blood just by talking to them which was a really fearful power.
"O the watcher of light, lend me your brightness so that we can see the path in this darkness. Theia's Guiding Light!" Will suddenly chanted as his entire body started shining golden in color.
Theia was the goddess of light, also known as the watcher of light. She was the counterpart of the watcher of darkness.
But while the watcher of darkness was associated with the path of evil, Theia was just treated as a guiding hand, much like the vision provided in the night because of light.
But the light was the natural ally to shadows.
"One person is assigned to each of us however, the one to kill the last remaining one will be a legend. Though don't let the runners escape." Will called out as the light from his body went out at once.
It was now hanging all over the place in the form of lanterns and in their glow, one could see Aiden smiling.
But the smile had no humor. It was instead the smile of a hunter who knew that his prey had been trapped.
"You guys sometimes get my blood pressure really high," Alex said with a sigh but he had already accepted the challenge.
After all, if Will and Aiden were to fight seriously, the battle wouldn't go on for too long.
This was the difference between those blessed by the fallen gods and those by the normal gods.
