The moment Drake made the figures move, the archers shot immediately. Aiden quickly used his movement technique to dodge the arrows.
And when he glanced at the arrows stuck in the ground, he realized that the figures were using real steel arrows that could piece Aiden's heart and kill him.
"You are thinking of dodging again. You will never learn how to use your shadow element properly if you keep on doing that." Drake commented from the sidelines. "Try to change the way you think Aiden."
'It's easier said than done.' Even though Aiden didn't say it loud, he still knew that it was possible. He just had to find the right moment to do it.
'They take a few seconds to shoot their next arrows while the three with the shields protect the archers. I can try shooting at them with my own arrows but the shields would block them.' Aiden had already thought about creating a bow but it would be worthless if his arrows got blocked.
So he instead decided to follow his father's advice and move forward. He immediately active his movement technique and appeared behind the archers.
But that's when Aiden realized what the remaining two figures did.
'They are martial artists.' His instincts kicked in as the two barehanded figures immediately jumped at him.
He started dodging their attacks but that's when the archers turned in his direction. Aiden soon realized that he had trapped himself but before retreating, he was at least gonna take out on archer.
He was tempted to use his one with the shadow skill but the figures would be able to resist it. After all, they were made from elemental energy.
'Mass shadow creation.' Aiden silently thought as five knives appeared in his hands.
Mass shadow creation gave him items at a slightly less EE cost than spamming normal shadow creation. It was something he figured out during his training sessions.
He then threw the five knives forward at the same time and saw the figures with the shields moving forward to protect the archers. But Aiden grinned and this.
He suddenly made four knives merge into two knives while he stopped the last one. He then increased their weight the moment they banged against two out of the three shields and tore through them.
They then got stuck in the head of two out of the three figures as they vanished.
He then quickly took out a knife from his clothes but was hit in the stomach because of it. The blow didn't knock the air out of him but was still quite powerful.
Aiden only clenched his teeth as he jumped away and threw the knife in his hands towards the fifth knife he had stopped earlier.
The knife he had thrown had been a normal steel knife that he had found. As for the reason he was using it, it was because he wanted to test something out.
He changed the fifth knife back into shadows and kept them hovering in the air. As soon as the knife reached closer to the shadows, Aiden made them jump towards the knife and blend with it.
'So he coated the knife with his shadows so that he would have the knife after using the shadows. That's a good way to use shadow creation alongside shadow control.' Drake praised Aiden mentally while watching him.
He already knew that Aiden now used shadow control instead of shadow manipulation. After all, he had seen the different levels of the skill being used in front of him many times.
That also made him remember the times he was beaten using the skill. Those were good days.
The figure with tee remaining shield raised it to defend the archers but Aiden suddenly made the shadow leave the knife and materialize into a knife.
The shadow knife hit the shield with a thunk and just like last time, penetrated it and defeated the figure. But the steel knife was still flying straight.
'One down four to go. Those martial artists are going to be annoying.' Aiden thought with a smile since he could now shoot the archers without worrying about his arrows being blocked.
One down, two down, three down. And with that, the last archer fell down. Now only the two martial artists were left.
"Should I try shooting them?" Aiden asked himself as he readied his bow and shot an arrow.
But one of the martial artists jumped in the air as though he was Bruce Lee and knocked the arrow off with his right leg.
Though he could have probably done that with his hand while standing. Even earth figures created using elemental energy wanted to show off.
'Fine, I will show off too then.' Aiden thought with a sigh as he used his shadow walk and appeared behind the martial artists.
'One with the shadow.' As soon as Aiden thought of the name of the skill, a dark invisible wave of power spread throughout the battlefield.
'Now that's interesting.' Drake thought with a smile as the ground beneath Aiden's feet turned to shadows.
His eyes were gleaming darkly as he raised his hand and a beam of shadow shot out of it. But that wasn't the end.
Aiden moved towards the two figures as the land beneath his feet continued to turn into shadow. He raised both of his hands and like a protagonist in an anime, he destroyed the two figures with a single punch.
This was because of the Shadow's god's blessings and increased Aiden's power by a majority.

'Wait, I can gain Exp by just killing these figures?!' Aiden asked as his jaw dropped.
Drake found it weird that his son was acting like this but he decided to let it go. After all, kids were weird.
< Yes host, you can gain Exp by killing many of such figures. >
'This means that if I grind like this for a few years, I can…' Aiden no longer thought about it as he turned towards Drake.
"One more round please."
