Chapter 50 - Becoming The Shadow God's Disciple

"Hey, why are you not talking? Don't tell me you are mute?" Aiden asked out loud as the system replied.

< He just messaged saying that if you heard his real vice, you will go mad. >

'Then please act as my mental shield and protect me.' Aiden replied as he heard a small sigh before a system notification popped in front of him.

Ding!

[ A new skill has been created ]

[ Oracle of Gods ]

- Allows the person having the skill to hear the true voice of gods without getting killed. ]

'Do other people have this skill?' Aiden asked back.

< This skill can only be given by Apollo, the god of prophecies. Since many gods think of giving this skill to their followers, Apollo trades it for various things. >

Aiden slowly nodded since it was time for him to talk with the god of shadows.

"So why do you think the requirements are too much to become my follower?" The voice of a young man suddenly entered Aiden's ears.

With a gentle flash of light, a man in his twenties appeared in front of Aiden. His hair were pure white and were combed to the right side of his head.

His eyes were the same color of shadows and were staring at Aiden's face. He was wearing normal black jeans with a white shirt and a black leather jacket.

"You are asking a teenager to not be horni just to become your follower?" Aiden asked as he stared at the man while raising his eyebrows.

"Is it that difficult?" The man looked genuinely surprised which made Aiden wonder whether he was even a god or not.

"Can I check your identity as a god? Do you have an ID card that tells that you are a god or anything like that?" Aiden asked as the man's mouth twitched.

"Of course I am a god. See, I can do this with a snap of my fingers," The man said as their surroundings started to change. "The power to teleport anywhere you want comes with the status of becoming a god."

Aiden and the man were now standing in front of a river which had red blood-like liquid inside it. If not for the fact that Aiden had read about this, he would have believed that it was blood.

"While that's certainly a cool power, my mother can still do that and she is not a goddess. I need real proof dude."

The man felt like burning Aiden alive but that would invoke Infini's wrath so he couldn't do that.

"You are a person who was reincarnated here by Infini, the goddess of entertainment. Is that enough for a proof?" Aiden seemed satisfied with the man's answer as he nodded.

"Kids these days…" The man muttered before he looked at Aiden.

"So you are not gonna practice the skill?" He asked as Aiden didn't reply for a second.

"The requirements are too much to just become your follower but if you change the follower part, I might practice it." Aiden decided to try his luck a little.

And if he had to say, he felt sad about letting the skill go out of his hands.

"What do you say about being my disciple?" The man suddenly smiled as he knew that he had attracted Aiden's attention.

"Being a god's disciples, especially of a God as strong as me has many benefits. For example, you will gain more exp for your system and will also get a permanent damage boost to all of your skills attacks. If I am feeling generous, then I will give you quicker EE regeneration."

"Really?" Aiden felt like a child who had just been told that maths period has been canceled.

"Then what are the requirements?" But Aiden wasn't naive enough to think that he would get all of this for free.

"Your system should tell you about that." The man replied as he suddenly started examining his nails.

[ Requirements:

- To become the Shadow God's disciple, you must choose him as your main patron god who you will follow. You will be allowed to choose other gods but the Shadow god will remain your main patron god.

- The job class: prince of shadows will be fixed as your permanent main job class.

- You will become an enemy to gods with light and dark elements. Their followers will not be affected by this. ]

< If you fix Prince of Shadows as your main job class, you will always be able to use all the skills. As for sub-job classes, when you change one, you can only retain two skills from the previous sub-job class. I will tell you more about this later host. > The system explained as Aiden seemed confused.

'Why not tell me now system?'

< Can't do all the info-dumping at once host. >

Aiden chuckled at the system's reply as he turned towards the man.

"Have you decided your answer kid? I have a date to pick up so you better answer me soon." The man was getting a little restless as more time went by.

"Can you even date while being so old?" Aiden asked back as the man rolled his eyes.

"Of course gods can date though there are many things we need to be careful of. Some gods are offended by our partners... answer my question kid." The man didn't even realize how quickly he was sidetracked by the topic of dating.

'Maybe the requirements really are tough.' He was now thinking of changing the requirements.

"Yes, I would like to become your follower." Aiden had already set his mind on it as the Shadow God smiled.

"Then you are my disciple from now on. I will talk to you later so bye for now." He said with a smile and snapped his fingers.

Aiden suddenly vanished as the man was left alone.

'I finally secured a follower.' The man thought with a sign as he sat down.

Being a fallen God, it was tough for him to find followers. As for why he wanted them?

The answer was simple. Power and status.

The more believers and followers a god had the more powerful he would be.

A God without a single follower would be easily crushed by a good with a single follower.

Currently, the shadow God only had a single follower which was Aiden.

But even without a follower, the shadow God could still defeat gods with hundred of followers.

But now that he had one follower, he was much stronger.

"If only I had not participated in the war," He muttered to himself. "Even though I feel bad about it, I still don't regret my decision."

He then vanished as the river still kept flowing.
