Chapter 33 - A Heartbreaking Decision For A Man Of Culture

"What is this place?" Aiden muttered as he slowly opened his eyes and stood up.

He glanced at his surroundings with a curious look on his face. His surroundings were completely white in color just like the room he had met Infini in. But unlike the room he had met Infini in, this room gave him an ominous aura.

Ding!

A system notification rang in Aiden's ears as he thought yes in answer.

[ Will the host accept the quest? ]

"That's a weird quest..." Aiden muttered as he read the details of the quest.

< I only give you the quests host. They are randomly generated depending on the situations you are in. > The system replied as Aiden sighed in response.

'What's with the question marks?' He asked the system mentally since he had a feeling that he was being watched by someone.

Little did he know that his speculation was true.

"Was it a good thing to test him so early on?" Aysel asked Drake as he raised his eyes.

"I underwent the test when I was nine years old and you underwent it while only being eight years old. Of course, it's a good idea." Drake replied as Aysel sighed and both of them stared in front of them.

There was a small screen in front of them which was displaying Aiden standing in the white room. They could see all of his moments and actions without him knowing about it.

But little did they know that Aiden could already feel their presence.

"What do you think he will choose in the first part?" Aysel asked as Drake shrugged.

"Out of all the options I got, I chose Elf. After all, elves and succubuses are the only competitive species there." Drake replied as Aysel raised her eyebrows.

"What about humans or just normal demons? don't you dare say that they are just pathetic since I am considered as a 'normal' demon." Aysel said as Drake coughed a little.

"Let's just see what he chooses." He replied as both of them put their attention on the screen.

< Host look forward. > The system suddenly said as Aiden turned his attention forward and saw that words suddenly started appearing in front of his face.

The words were golden black in color and hung in the air in front of Aiden's face.

"From the following species, which female will you choose to have as your life partner." Aiden read out loud as his eyes suddenly widened.

'This is much worse than flirting in front of a child! I am supposed to choose a species I would like to live with for the rest of my life? What bullshit!' Aiden thought as numerous species names started to appear in front of his face.

"Elf girl, Demon girl, Succubus, Human girl, Slime-girl girl, nekokomini, demi-human girl, semi-bird girl, angel girl, ghost girl, undead girl, vampire girl, ghoul girl... What the fuck?!" Aiden cursed out loud as the list exceeded his expectations.

'How the fuck am I supposed to choose any one of these girls?' He thought before sighing since there was no way that he could choose any girl without betraying his feelings as a man of culture.

< Just choose anyone of them host. It's not that difficult. > The system replied as Aiden sighed again.

'You don't understand how I am feeling system. This choice is as hard as a maths test question.' Aiden replied as he took a deep breath and stared at the screen.

"I think he is going to be stuck here for many hours. After all, it was clear as day that he was lying about understanding what we were talking about earlier." Aysel muttered as she kept looking at the screen.

"Well, he is our child so of course he will be like us." Drake replied as Aysel chuckled.

"Do you still think that he will choose elf?" Aysel asked with a smug smile as Drake sighed and shook his head.

"Judging by his reaction, he probably is gonna have a hard time choosing any one of them. If not for how my parents had treated me, I would have been in a similar situation as him." Drake replied as they continued looking at Aiden.

'System, how much time has passed since we came here?' Aiden asked the system mentally as he had no idea how much time had passed by.

< Two hours have passed by host. Choose quickly or you might actually spend the rest of your life here. > The system replied in a bored voice yet Aiden couldn't do anything about it.

After intense thinking, he had narrowed down the choices to Demon, succubus, elf, nekokomini, angel, vampire, and human.

'Wait, didn't the question say..." Aiden thought as he looked at the question and his face lit up.

"I choose..." He said the answer out loud.

***

"Wish we could hear his answer. Do you think he would tell us about it later on?" Drake asked Aysel as she shook her head.

"I think he probably chose his favorite or something or he just chose demon girl as a choice to move on." Aysel replied since both she and Drake couldn't predict what Aiden have chosen.

"Well, he at least passed this one. Though I wonder whether he would be stuck on the rest of the questions or not." Drake said in a grim voice as he and Aysel exchanged a glance.

'Since he is my child, he will definitely struggle on them.' Both of them thought the same thing and sighed together before they started seeing the screen again.

< What did you choose host? > The system asked in a curious voice.

'You couldn't hear me?' Aiden asked back in a confused tone because he didn't understand how the system didn't hear him even though he said the answer out loud.

< It was apparently hidden from anyone listening to you. > The system replied as Aiden shrugged.

'That's good I guess. Now let me check the next question.' Aiden replied as he turned his attention forward.

Unfortunately, the second question was also very tough.
