"Welcome, Professor Akari and Kaede."
"Good morning, Archivist Darwin. We're here for our seventh archived case study."
"Understood. Please follow me to the archive room."
My mother and I are in a State university in Hawaii today where we have kept copies of our literary materials away from Japan where it can be stolen or destroyed.
"That kid sure knows how to throw a tantrum?"
"Was that Kai?"
"Yep. Your hyperactive cousin… he's asking us to buy him a lot of souvenirs once we get home."
"That's good ol' and typical him."
Although we have been enjoying our trip so far since we left Japan using the Sumeragi group's private jet, we haven't forgotten at all why we are heading to the institutions where we are keeping our research materials and findings.
"This is it. Room 203."
"We can handle it from here."
"Alrighty then. Here's the key for your vault. Just call for me in the intercom if you need assistance or you have any questions."
"Mm."
After the old man left, Mom and I entered the archive room and opened the vault where our materials are located. Although there must be hundreds of them inside, there was only one thing that we needed to get from here.
"The research we did 10 years ago, huh? The one in Asia minor…"
"Yeah. If only the governments there didn't intervene, we could've uncovered more clues in that huge pool of Astra energy traces."
"Well, we did get orders to immediately go back to Japan. Given the trouble back then in Old Osaka…"
Mom opened the binder book and at a specific page, held down the paper to skim over its contents quickly…
"Place your phone near here. Let's cross-examine the wavelength of the traces and the ones sent to you by Lucas."
"Here…"
"…"
"Hey… Mom?"
As soon as we examined the appearance of the Astra wave traces we recorded back then, and the appearance of the Astra wave emissions sent by Lucas from the Replicator cell they found, we knew that we are in the right track.
"Can it be… that the mysterious event that happened in that place…?"
"…Kaede, call Lucas or even just Renjiro to follow us in America."
"Y-Yes! What should tell them about the purpose?"
After placing the binder book in her bag, mom replied with a sense of rush and worry.
"Tell them that the ceasefire is a lie!"
"Mom…"
"They're all liars… the Miyazono corporation is already on the move. We have to act before they become unstoppable!"
I thought we had more time to stand up and protect the people…
I was wrong.
