Chen Xue'er's fever lasted till dawn. Li Dong Hai, Cao Shu Yu, and Gao Wei took turns to take care of her. Grandpa and Grandma Ho returned to their room. Since they needed to act as if everything was normal.
"We will bring you some food in the morning when they are fewer people walking around here," Grandma Ho said last night as she gave one last glance at Chen Xue'er.
Li Dong Hai had wanted to keep watch all night, but after Cao Shu Yu's and Gao Wei's insistence, he conceded and rested.
Chen Xue'er woke up the next morning with Li Dong Hai asleep at her side. She immediately recognized the room. As she shifted on the bed, Li Dong Hai woke up.
"How are you feeling, Xue'er?" Li Dong Hai asked, half-asleep. Chen Xue'er could see that dark circles had formed under his eyes.
