Ruo Yin went to prepare her famous deadly pastries as she left Si Ming with a pot of tea. After a few minutes, Zhan Luo then appeared in the living quarters.
"Are you seriously going to let her continue intoxicating me with those deadly pastries? You know I'm not as powerful as you, I may die from this! You may lose your only friend, Zhan Luo," Si Ming said.
"You have always exaggerated, and this is your mess. You were the one who lied to her that those pastries were edible, so you should be the one telling her the truth."
Si Ming then drank from his cup of tea.
"You are just so shameless! You don't want your wife to hate you so you are leaving it to me to tell her that her pastries can kill any immortal!" Si Ming said a bit too loud.
Exactly at that moment, Ruo Yin returned.
Zhan Luo only smirked.
Si Ming's face went pale, "Xiao Yin, hey, aren't we best buddies. Let me explain."
If glares could kill someone, then Si Ming would have been dead by now.
"Yeah, we are friends," Ruo Yin said with a fake smile on her face. Zhan Luo moved to a side to not be in his wife's way.
"You know the saying, everyone has their own taste, not exactly because I didn't like it, it means that your husband also didn't like it," Si Ming said trying to save his little immortal life.
Ruo Yin's expression still has not changed. Zhan Luo was about to burst into laughter looking at this scene.
Before he became friends with Si Ming, he rarely had any inconvenience. Zhan Luo focused only on his duty as the War Deity, but then he caught the interest of this ridiculous immortal and became friends with him as a way to kill the boredom. He could not believe that they have already been friends for so long.
His wife is another story, they may have started in a very weird term, with the whole memory wiping, she stabbing him, and later he offering to marry her. Yet, in the end, the things were solved and they are now very in love with each other. It may not be the perfect ending, since the Demon Lord still has his own agenda, but at least Zhan Luo this time had his wife by his side.
Just as Ruo Yin was about to stuff Si Ming's mouth with her deadly pastries, Zhan Luo interfered, since he still wanted to maintain his friend alive.
"Xiao Yin, please, don't kill him yet. Your pastries are really not edible," Zhan Luo finally confessed.
Ruo Yin then stopped trying to make Si Ming eat her deadly pastries and turned her attention to her husband.
"So, the two of you have been lying to me about my cooking getting better?" she pouted.
Zhan Luo and Si Ming looked at each other thinking of a way to calm down the Demon Princess.
"Technically, your cooking as in other dishes has gotten better, but your pastries are deadly in every way," Zhan Luo told his wife hoping she would not continue to get mad at them.
Ruo Yin was still glaring at them.
Si Ming then remembered that he still has not given them their wedding gift, so he said, "Hey! Don't you both want the wedding gift I prepared for you?"
Ruo Yin then sighed and knew that there was no reason to fight for such a trivial thing as her bad cooking. She then said, "I forgive Si Ming since he brought a gift and I'm not married to him, but you, my dear husband, you are going to be my food taster till I get to cook edible food. Pastries included," Ruo Yin smiled.
Si Ming exhaled with relief. While Zhan Luo was calculating how many more years of cultivation he was going to lose because of Ruo Yin's cooking.
Ruo Yin excitedly then asked Si Ming what the gift was.
"Whatever you wish," Si Ming said.
Ruo Yin then thought about it and asked Si Ming if he was also in charge of the immortals' fate. Si Ming quickly explained to her that the immortals' fate was not for him to decide, but he could get small peaks of their fate.
"Is it possible for you to know our fate, Si Ming? You know, since you are the writer of fate for the mortals... I want to know what's my future with Zhan Luo," Ruo Yin said.
Zhan Luo tensed.
"Is something wrong?" Ruo Yin asked him.
Si Ming knew why his friend was behaving like this. After all, he was the one who told him that he was going to kill the girl that he loved.
"No, nothing wrong," Zhan Luo told her. He then looked at Si Ming to tell him to proceed with Ruo Yin's petition.
Si Ming then opened the Immortals' Scroll and wrote the name of Ruo Yin and beside it wrote love fate. Quickly letters appeared on the scroll. Ruo Yin then read from it.
"Ruo Yin, daughter of You Xie and Fei Yan, will kill the one she loves."
Ruo Yin's face went blank. Zhan Luo then grabbed her by the shoulders, so she did not fall.
"No way, there is no way that is going to happen," Ruo Yin muttered to herself.
Si Ming was confused, if Zhan Luo was to kill Ruo Yin, then how will Ruo Yin kill Zhan Luo? Was there another meaning to this prophecy? And did Si Ming read it correct, Ruo Yin was the Demon Lord's daughter?
Zhan Luo was busy comforting his wife. He then made a sign for Si Ming to return to the Sky Clan first. Si Ming understood that Zhan Luo had wanted this truth to come out, but he did not expect his wife to break this way. Si Ming quickly disappeared back to the Sky Clan, leaving the War Deity and the Demon Princess alone with their fate.
Ruo Yin was still in shock. Zhan Luo just hugged her as he patted her head.
"It won't happen, Si Ming already told you that those prophecies were just glimpses, maybe it's just referring to a time where you hurt me," Zhan Luo tried to calm her down.
"No, I... we.... we shouldn't be with each other! I am going to end up killing you!" Ruo Yin shouted in despair.
"If you forgot, you already stabbed me once, and here I am. I don't care about those silly prophecies. I won't let you go."
Ruo Yin could only cry in Zhan Luo's arms. Both of them hoped that there could be a way for them to change their fate.
