His eyes widened. "What do you know?" He asked.
"Not alot."
"Well I know what I am. I know that I am a shade."
"A shade?"
"Si. I stalk the night, using the powers I have to get rid of the evil people."
"Describe these evil people."
"I dare not. For my own. Not now. Not then."
I sighed. "Okay. Now I need the phone."
It rang and rang. I twisted the curly phone cord around my finger with each ring. C'mon...just pickup.
"Hello?"
Thank goodness! "Theresa! I need a ride home. I'm stuck in the convenience store."
"Ok"
I waited outside the convenience store on an old wooden bench, crossing my legs. A white SUV turned the corner and I stood up. It stopped at my feet and the window rolled down.
"Hey my favorite little niece! How did you get into this predicament? It's dangerous at night y'know?"
I pulled at the door handle and hopped into the passenger seat.
"I had to get stuff for the school dance" I said, looking over at her. She was completely dazzled out in a lavender dress that faded into a darker purple. "Woah. Why do you have that on?"
"I wanted your opinion on it! Do you think I look alright? I'm wearing it to the dance."
I nodded and she smiled.
We finally pulled into our tiny driveway and got out of the car.
"Well. I'm gonna go take this off. You need to head to bed for school tomorrow."
Walking, up to the house with her, I twisted the door handle. The door completely fell off the hinges and turned to ash.
I gasped.
"DAISY. DON'T MOVE." Theresa whispered, "THERE IS A INTRUDER IN THE HOUSE AS WE SPEAK."
"Call the police!" I whispered back at her.
"It's no use. They don't come unless it involves them."
I told her to wait at the door while I went in to inspect, before she pulled me back outside.
"You cant go in unarmed!"
I pulled the pin out of my hair.
"Daisy. I love you, but a hair pin can't be used as a weapon" Theresa sighed.
The pin shifted before our eyes. It became a longsword in no time. She looked at me astonished. "Where did you get that?"
"..mom.."
Theresa looked at the ground and back at me. "I hope you will be alright."
I shuffled my way into the house, stepping over piles of broken glass and trash. I kept the sword at arm, making sure it was ready to hit as soon as something tried to attack me.
I turned the corner that went up the stairs. Blood was dripping down each step. I made may way up the steps, holding back to urge to gag at each step.
The stairs were almost slippery, dragging me down with each wrong movement.
I had finally made my way to the top of the stairs where I was greeted by complete order. Where the rest of the house was trashed, the upstairs was completely fine. There wasn't even a source for the blood on the stairs.
I made my way to my room, slowly opening the door.
THUMP! THUMP! CRASH!
THE INTRUDER WAS IN MY ROOM! The door blasted open and I looked down to find a huminoid abomination lying on my bed. I screamed.
I hit it with the sword and it let out screeching and wailing noises. It managed to pull open my loft window and escape out through it with it's disembodied limbs and teeth sticking out of the skin.
I witnessed it, in horror. It was crawling over the ledge to the ridge. It crawled until it dissapeared out of my sight.
How could someone possibly explain the things that they had just seen to someone?
I made my way back down the stairs and out the door as quickly as possible.
"What happened?" Theresa asked.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you"
