Chapter 9 - Chapter IX

It was principal Joe. He stomped into the room and grabbed Liam by the very tip of his ear and dragged him out of the room.

"Dont forgot your superiors" Joe continued.

Liam was dragged out, blushing from embarrassment.

"Oh Daisy~ Hm?" Dan peeked into the room, nosily.

I looked down at my arms that were scratched and beaten up.

"Oh! Here. I've got you." Dan said, pulling a water bottle from the side pocket of his backpack.

He lightly poured the water over my wounds as they slowly healed.

"Why must you always get into trouble?" Dan asked.

I perked up, startled at the question.

"I- what? That was out of my control!" I replied.

Dan smiled, shaking his head.

I pulled my wrist back, checking where my wounds once were. They were completely gone.

"Weird" I whispered.

"New outfit?" He asked.

I looked up at him and realised I was still holding the staff in my left hand, wings outward.

I put my hand on my wings and tried to push them down, back into where they came from. The staff went back into it's original form, too.

"A swan? What's that all about?"

"I dont know." I replied.

"Grace? Beauty?"

"I guess so"

"You guess so? I know it!" He said, butting his elbow against me.

Joe walked into the classroom. "Not to bother you two, but do you have free time?" He asked.

"Yeah" Me and Dan agreed in unison.

"Well, after all this chaos, I was planning a calming day. A school dance sounds nice. More benefit to the students. I was wondering if you two wanted to help set it up." Joe spoke, leaning up against the door with his arms crossed.

"Sure. You... may have to call my aunt first though, to make sure it's okay with her" I said.

"Ah. I'll make sure of it" Joe said as he scurried away to his office.

Me and Dan looked at each other. We each had the same idea. We went after him to eavesdrop their conversation.

I leaned my ear up to the door to listen. A deep, mumbled voice could be heard through the door. The first few pieces were hard to hear, but I was still able to make them out.

"Yes hello, is this Daisy's aunt there?" Joe said. I giggled, but Dan silently shushed me and continued to listen.

"Oh? You're her aunt? Oh. I see."

"Well. We was planning on having a little school dance. O..oh yeah. I suppose. Yeah. You can come too."  The phone clicked as it fell back into the handle.

Sliding noises could be heard on both sides of the door as the door knobs shifted. Me and Dan jumped.

Go! I signaled to Dan, but it was too late. Dan fell forward in through the open door, flat on his face. Joe was heavily blushing. He looked down at with disappointment.

"Dan Nautil Helios." Joe asked, "What are, no, no. What were you doing?"

Dan raised up. "Nothing."

Joe grabbed him and pulled him to his feet by the collar of his shirt. "Really? It was almost as if you were eavesdropping." Joe grumbled with bright red cheeks, "Get going and go decorate the gym for the dance."

We nodded. He did a quick half-circle and walked back into his office.

"So... what do we decorate with?"

"Uhhh.."

The bell rung. School was out already. "Well daisy. Time to meet my family."
