Chapter 54 - Big Tree

(Milvene Nermia's POV)

W-we're winning... This is incredible!

"Go forth, warriors. Don't let them advance!"

A couple of hours ago, I was having an anxious and hesitant mind that I find it suspicious for them to just move without provocation. However, it all goes away when they starts to defend one of the most important asset of, not only the capital, but the entire country's mineral mine!

I didn't knew at first, but it really is an incredible way to progress the war. By using the mineral for their own uses, even if they have not enough manpower, they can certainly hold back enough time if ever they're seeking reinforcement.

"Don't waste any more time, slaughter these traitors!"

"Uraaah!!!"

My men shouts as their moral just skyrocketed after witnessing the outnumbered enemy struggling to defend the said area.

With this, I will be able to save my father... To those scums!

Just wait my father, the son of yours will bring glory and honor to our family and forever be remember!

"Goddess Aura!"

With my spell being cast, multiple people who just retreated with either grave or mild injuries, suddenly healed. With the satisfied face, I face them and nod strongly to give them the silent order.

And that is, to fight.

With that spell, I have almost drain my mana. Healing one is easy, but healing all these injured people takes toll.

But it's a small price to pay. I just have to mind my limit.

As I am busy thinking to myself, one of my adjutant suddenly shouts as she point towards the sky where a small figure pass by.

"That's the enemy's head!"

Just great... Is what the first thing that come out from my mind.

It's truly a great coincidence.

"Kliz. Do it."

As soon as I said so, my adjutant turn her head towards me with a rather dumbfounded look. However, she immediately turn and focus herself to the battlefield and cast something.

Kliz, one of the few people I have trusted as my adjutant. She specialize at mass strengthening which is rare for common people. She was an adventurer before being conscripted, however, she has enough loyalty for her country to be trusted.

With her power, we can boost those people in the front making the enemy's struggle worsen. And as we let them struggle, we will exhaust them both equipment and energy, after that we will be sure to surround them.

Our army, numbering around 75,000. Is far too many compared to them, however, I am not the only one who command them. Multiple commanders order their people making the chain loose.

But it doesn't concern me. His Majesty gave me a 10,000 army. And that's enough to save both my father and my country.

"Body Strengthening!"

As soon as Kliz shout, her body suddenly glow as multiple projectile fly through the sky only to land towards the people at the Frontline.

With this, I step again towards my goal.

Or not...

"General, he's there again!"

Kliz, again, noticed the man whose supposed to be the enemy's high command. However, this time, he's currently hovering at the sky free to target from any arrows or magic.

"Should we take this chance?"

I ask and turn my head towards my adjutant.

"I think s-"

Before she could even finish her words, a blinding flash spread across the entire area at our right side.

A blinding light that can make a person pierce it's eyes without even getting touch.

What in the world is that?

"Kliz, are you alright?!"

"G-general... I'm fin-"

I ask her and she soon answer, however, as if a force suddenly struck us, all of us, including the tens of thousands of soldiers either near or far from the area of explosion, suddenly came flying.

The force of the explosion is far too strong for us to be able to handle. Even with our strengthening spell casted by my adjutant, it didn't let any of it do anything against such devastating force.

As we came flying towards our side. A tree like clouds formed from the area of the explosion.

It is so big that it even exceed the clouds of the sky.

We were left agape as we stare at the formation of the clouds at that area, the explosion, the flash, the force of the wave like air. It distract us from the fight as if the world just stop.

No one knows what happen.

No one saw how it happen.

But one thing is for certain.

It is truly terrifying, especially with those people that have been too near from the area of explosion.

If the force of the wind far exceed the human strength with this far. How will it affect those in near?

However, my questions were soon answered as the area where such terrifying explosion happen, soon appear, only to give me more terrifying thoughts.

There were people there.

If I remember correctly, those were supposed to be the Prince's army.

I see...

This is too cruel.

We soon come back to our senses when our enemy at the front force an advance and starts to slaughter them one by one.

I tried to give my commands to my people, to my army, however, they soon begin to flee one by one.

The big explosion and the unfazed enemy of ours seem to have scared our warriors that their morals suddenly drop beneath the ground.

"Kliz, we need to fight."

"N-no... What are you saying, we can't we win them. Didn't you just see their weapon?! I need to go, I can't die here!"

"W-wait.. What are you doing?! This is deserting!"

I even tried to threaten her so she can stay, however, she just run so fast that even before I could finish my words, she's already out of sight.

My horse have also began to panic as the crowded soldiers have retreated.

"Stop, what are you all doing?! The enemy's number is low, we can win this!"

"Don't be stupid! You just saw it didn't you?!"

"That's right, if you want to die, die alone!"

"We can't win this, I have already heard it from gossips but I didn't know they have this kind of weapon!"

Multiple voices of complain from my warriors came out from their mouth as they all retreat towards, not to the capital, but through the forest.

With only few people left, they are either still stunned and frozen from the event that just transpired, or they're just too thirsty for blood.

But they were all soon cut down when they attack the enemy.

Until I was left alone.

"With your crest, we believe you're a noble?"

An enemy who's also riding a horse, suddenly ask me.

I just surrendered as I find the situation clear. We lost.

"Why?"

"Answer our question."

"Yes, I am."

"Then you will be held detain and will be given an honor to face His Majesty. Be grateful!"

They already have fooled themselves to call such traitorous monster as a king.

But...

I'm curious...

What could it be that he needed?

Wait, does it mean he will help me reunite with my father?
