Now then, I've been thinking about my sister ever since that night. I don't know how can I can tell it to her but that can still wait. I first need to manage my territory
Also, If they did die, that just mean my brother's currently on the seat and that would be really bad. I can't let those two noble hinder my plans while I'm currently at my weakest moment.
For this reason, I'll be asking the advisor to help me regarding these matters.
*Knock*
I have arrive at the guard's house where the current captain and my advisor resides.
"Come in,"
Thankfully, no weird noises resound making me ease myself and enter as the person said.
After opening the door, I saw my advisor alone packing her things so she can move in the palace. It is because I told her to do so since it would bring much delay to our communication if she stay here and with a few arguments and debate, I manage to convince her while letting her lover live with her.
I also notice that the bastard captain isn't here, and so I ask her.
"Where's the guard?"
"Kranz is currently in duty, so he's at the gate."
"Wow, that's good, he's doing his job properly!" I sarcastically said as I laugh.
"Well, he's a nobleman after all, albeit lowbirth," and she retorted.
"I'm ready," she added and made a prepared stance.
"That's all you will bring?"
"Most of my things are in the palace, and I can't let your grace carry heavy stuffs, if you want you can freely carry that over there."
She then point out the large chest lying at the floor beside their bed.
No thanks, that looks heavy. I can use magic to carry it though but it's still a waste to do so. I mean the guards and servants can do that!
"Let's go,"
Hence, we left the room and head towards the palace.
As we walk, I can't help but feel off.
Seeing the woman right beside me, I feel guilty watching her carry that heavy-looking stuff in her arm as we walk.
I also felt ashame for myself as a man from letting a woman do the work since it's one of the things I was taught to consider.
I wanna die from just walking beside this hardworking woman!
"Oy, let me carry that stuff, it's getting in my nerve!"
"W-Wha...? It's not my problem you're getting piss! What did I even do?!"
"Just let me carry that, you man-shaming woman!"
I grab the stuff she's carrying and pull it, however, the woman resisted as she also pull it and a fight between strength and dignity began.
"Look, I have no time to play with you, your grace. I didn't even say anything to shame you!"
And that's the reason why! This bitch!
Ugh! I can't do this anymore!
"Rose, give me the bag, that's an order!"
With that, she won't be able to retort! I'm the highest authority here and if she didn't comply and still resist she will be accuse of treason!
After hearing my tyranny words. As if fear took and control her, she suddenly lowered her head and the pull from the bag suddenly weakens. It works!
Suddenly, she made a grumbling sound and handed the bag after that.
Which means, I won!
"Thank you," I said as I put the handle on my shoulder.
"What can you even gain from that?" I heard a little voice from the woman as she mutter something that cannot be heard.
And so, after that, we continue walking towards the palace with me having a proud and dignified face!
I arrive at the palace and enter it. After that, we head to the former room of my advisor and left her stuff there then head to the study where around ten bureaucrats currently waiting.
When we arrive, they then stop themselves from doing something and stand up after seeing us enter the room.
The bureaucrats right here was hired not too long after we hire the servants. However, because of their rarity, it took us time to do so and only manage to hire some of them at the other side of the district.
Furthermore, the servants, or should i say the other guards that were tasked to find these certain people took almost half a day to finish.
And I was told that these bureaucrats are among the commoners who have fortune on them and able to study regarding math and accounting.
Since they were commoners who had no background on them, I told the servants to observe these people whenever they leave the room.
"Good day to you, my grace. My name is Nidia Falto from the Falto Trading Company. I am very honored to receive your invitation."
A man on his early 20's, with a well-featured face consisting a diamond blue eyes, silvery hair, wearing a clean orange merchant attire, lead the other by speaking first.
They are quite well-mannered despite being a clueless commoners, huh? I mean contrary to my previous world where even citizen can learn how to manage an entire country, commoners in these era doesn't have money nor power to achieve greater knowledge.
Additionally, they don't have public schoolings where they can learn and create new magic, making them disadvantageous in front of a noble when it comes to magic.
However, despite them being unable to gain deep knowledge regarding magics, they still can manage to use them albeit basic elements such as fire, water, earth, air.
As such, it is really interesting to see them looking like this. I also thought about the commoners back when we ask for the help of recruiting servants, they also have a few knowledge regarding the world's society and etiquette.
"Good day, I am Verian Zortes, future duke of this territory and city. You are here because you accepted my invitation, I presume? If that is so, why don't we proceed to business? You may all sit." I order them to all sit down as I walk towards the center in which my desk was located.
I also guided my advisor to her newly placed desk at the right side of mine.
"Then, let's begin." After sitting down to my seat. I began to discuss about the certain problems regarding the situation of my Territory.
From military to economy. Everything were discussed and finished just before the sun rises at its peak. Most of the bureaucrats merely nodded when answering and gave a few suggestions.
Since my advisor will be the one who will deal with that, I let her talk and think about their offers and so, things proceed smoothly.
Falto TC will be in charge of the economic stability of my territory by managing things regarding the resources and materials needed for my people's survival, of course, including foods.
They also let me lent some money. How kind... However, I also need to be wary since most of the conditions they gave me is surprisingly light.
Of course, who wouldn't be suspicious about that?
I can lend money from them if I will make them the center of the trading system in my territory!
While in the other hand, the humble Falco metal-producing company, which is the branch family of the Falto, will help us by providing equipments for our army. Of course, with payment, however, it's also suspicious since the discount was as low as half the price and the payment can even wait until the territory become stable!
If they really have ulterior motives from this, then I'd just let them be loyal and faithful to me by giving them more merits that their original plan!
But let's not overthink too much, they may be only doing this to have my favor when problem comes to our country. Yes, that!
The rest of the bureaucrats which also came from major companies inside the city also propose advantageous deal. There's a deal with agriculture where they will manage and help the villagers who suffer from the war. There's also a magic company which produce good materials!
However, unlike from the Falco, they can't mass produce equipments and can only provide things like knowledges and inventions.
And that's what I like! Which means I can accompany them and have them enhance the spells I have made!
Of course, not the overpowered once! That will certainly bring imbalance to this world, Keke! And I don't want to face an enemy who can use magic that can't be seen by naked eyes!
There's also the Building company where I also needed.
It's like things I need were all here!
And so, the conference ended with my full advantage.
We all left and head towards the dining room since it's almost noon and lunch time had began. I also felt hungry after the pressure from those suspicious merchant!
