Blake refused to let his mate go as he continued to embrace her and Lyra just let him be. She could see that he was trying to calm himself down and decided to let that be until she had enough, "Guests are waiting for us, Blake" This was the first time they were having visitors in their home and she didn't want to seem rude to them. The conduct she and her mates show reflects the entire snake tribe. There was already prejudice against the Snake tribe and Lyra didn't want to aggravate it further by behaving in any manner that might come off as rude.
