Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Trio & The Tantalizing twins!

Artus hummed a tune as he and his siblings laid on their private penthouse's roof in the early evening as the sun began to set on their beloved city. The sanguine marksman continued humming as he rested his head on his hands next to Lyle and Ember. "I've fallen in love with pop music and this genre called Japanese hyper pop." Said Artus as he held a wide grin on him. The Bluestocking blade admires the bright orange sky above her as she listens to her brother further his opinions on the genres. "Those genres and any word implying those songs being tuneful don't belong in the same sentence." Ember opined, she glanced over to her right having the two share a stare. The sangfroid paragon nodded after listening to his brother's opinions. "Metal gets my blood pumping and can represent hope." Lyle admitted before his favorite album stumbled into his thoughts. The sanguine marksman finished his tune. "Do you guys prefer a different genre for different things to enjoy metal maybe— Metal for movies and classical for studying just as an example?" Artus asked his siblings. The Bluestocking blade chuckled lightly. "Hm. No. Classical music fits into every event in a way so perfectly that I can't necessarily describe it." Ember opined as she gazed at the evening sky. The Sanguine marksman nodded as he listened to her elaboration. "Don't worry, ems, if you meet your unfortunate day before Ly and I then you can safely bet that I'll make sure that it's the only genre on the playlist celebrating the life you lived." Artus responded and assured his older sister. The Sangfroid Paragon recalled something that his older sister was excited about much earlier in the day before they received an urgent assignment to deal with together. "The schedule and moment is cleared up now, Ems, what was that revelation which you were eager to tell us about earlier?" Lyle asked aloud as Ember had heard genuine curiosity in his tone which returned her eagerness to speak with them. The Bluestocking Blade stood up, still on her butt yet still in a relaxed manner. "Our predecessors are returning early from a dispatch!" Ember shouted excitedly as she wiped her itchy nose while her brothers stared at her without a reply, one confused yet another displaying as much enthusiasm as her. The Sanguine Marksman held a bright grin on his mien. "I want to meet them, get to know them, and can't wait to work next to them like Armand suggested." Artus shouted as he laid back down. Lyle remained fairly silent about Ember's news unlike his siblings as he debated back and forth with himself in his own thoughts.

The Sanguine marksman hummed a tune as he sauntered with his siblings in their late evening heading towards their next assignment. "Man, Why do we have to be on security duty for a lame museum—?" Artus complained before he shook his head disappointingly, "They're Sooo boring!" Artus finished loudly with extra stress on "boring" as he was irritated by this job. The Bluestocking blade "Because Josue can't be here tonight." Ember Answered, "Even though, this is his special Artifact display opening." Ember finished with some disappointment. The sangfroid paragon rested his hands on his neck as he and his siblings peregrinate from their private penthouse to Josue's museum. "I'm going to stray from any complaints. If guard duty can earn us Josue's trust." Lyle stated confidently, "Successfully guarding his expensive and renowned treasures like in this museum should show our loyalty as well." The sangfroid paragon finished reasoning in a relaxed manner. The sanguine marksman shrugged. "You got me with that but hopefully this is only for a single night!" Artus replied as they continued traversing. Ember's eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "And if Josue trusts us, perhaps—  we could finally meet the legend in person and I get to ask my notepad of questions at some point!" Ember responded excitedly and thought further about herself. The Trio finally arrived at the special museum they're assigned to protect for the night. Upon their arrival, they're greeted by their fellow security guards who were assigned as they were. The man responsible for curating the museum and their grand event greeted the Trio as the first face they'll see outside of the complex their late evening as it had been thirty minutes from being dark. "'Sup everyone, Rod Fleece, I'm the curator here." He introduced himself with confidence and joy. The Sanguine Marksman waved in a friendly manner. "We're the Gen-Oath members assigned to assist you guys with firmer security tonight." Artus replied with mild volume. The curator nodded approvingly. "That high tech protective gear and uniforms gave that away from a mile" Rod replied before he whistled, "Villains ought to be quaking by those intimidating helmets alone!" Rod Fleece complimented as felt dumbfounded. The Bluestocking blade folded her arms. "Well, Our job is significantly more dangerous than everyone else's, I guess." Ember bluntly replied unintentionally in a mocking tone. The curator nodded once more before resting his chin on his chest. "Riiiight!" Rod responded before a long moment of awkward silence strolled its way between the Trio and Curator, "Yeah, Well, you guys want a tour of the museum?" Rod asked, breaking the silence, "Some guys just moved everything in before you guys came and we're just about ready to open." Rod finished.

Rod and the Trio went on a promenade into and through the museum. The museum's interior blew away the expectations the temporarily hired guards had of it prior. It hadn't opened yet, it was with only a porter and a few men moving tables empty but all the artifacts were securely on display already. Each artifact didn't look the same obviously, each one was different though some were the same sort of item, such as some were necklaces, medallions, specific clothing items and each had the history displayed next to them cognate with Josue's knowledge of the specific item. The Sanguine Marksman eyes opened wide with shock as he read over the museum's contents. "Each of these are ancient!!" Artus yelled out in amazement, like a child he curiously explored and separated from his siblings, "They wouldn't be called 'Artifacts' if they weren't, Artus." Ember replied with a sarky tone. Lyle split off from the group too eventually and went from display to display alone and decided to read the history behind each artifact. "If these are so powerful and inimitable, they must be unimaginably valuable. Why did he put them on display where they could get stolen?" Lyle asked aloud when he meant to keep it in his head. Rod snuck up behind him and answered. "Because back in the 1800s when Generil was known as Nicollet, his family, the Detayverns, were held as the richest family in france, but the title was snatched suddenly by the Durant clan, the rivaling family, the durant family, however just— seemed to have disappeared off of the face of the earth at some point in history, truly mysterious." Rod informed the sangfroid paragon in a heartfelt tone. Lyle glared at a wall, lost in his thoughts after hearing what Rod told him. Ember snuck up behind the curator, startling him, in a similar manner as his attempt with Lyle much earlier. "How much history of this place do you know and could you relay some to a new pal?" In a curious yet softer tone. The curator held a face filled with confusion on him. "Isn't Artus way over there?" Rod replied before nervously chuckling as if he was joking with her. Ember replied with an unamused glare. "It seems you are as dense as you appear." The Bluestocking Blade responded to his pettiness. The relic museum's curator nervously grinned. "I'm inclined to negotiate so we'll cut a deal because I've got so much to share with you— however first, Lady, it's gonna take a favor for a favor." Rod relayed Ember, fascinating her. The Bluestocking blade found interest in his words. "I'm going to need your word that if I live up to my end, you'll live up to yours. You don't want to have a heart to heart with my blade, do you?" Ember responded before the two shook hands. Ember asked herself many questions as she found herself reading history to a group of children. One of the kids raised his hand for a question he had and was called on. "Where's our usual babysitter?" The nasally child asked the Bluestocking swordswoman with a curious expression. Ember took her nose away from the book and sat it on her thigh. "Handling an emergency she can't ignore, child." She answered before she unintentionally intimidated the kid by waiting for any other question he had for her yet staring at him in the meantime.

The Sangfroid Paragon toured a square of the museum as he stayed on his toes. "I'm reminded of studying all of the Sashigyenna recounts and philosophy beside all of the others with all of this history on display." Lyle said in his head as he continued thinking deeply about other questions about Generil that came from the time he's spent in it. A few hours go by, and now the museum is ready to be opened to the folks willing to attend, entrance is free, allowing all the citizens to see the wondrous, awe-inspiring, flabbergasting collection of ancient and enduring items Josue has collected over his many, many, many, many years as he held sway. Immediately upon the grand opening, the museum was filled with folk ready to see if Josue can live up to his promise. Artus met up with one crusty, cantankerous older man in a lengthy aqua blue sleeveless sweatshirt whose volume wasn't held back. The constant fault finding that the elderly man yelled from the top of his lungs after reading the history of each display attracted Artus to him in the first place, especially the many claims after each petty criticism that the artifacts he has, are better. The Sanguine Marksman approached him with an expression full of curiosity. "Something's troubling you?" Artus asked the distressed viewer. The elderly skeptic scoffed and sighed. "Uh, yeah, Hello biggy, I'm complaining about these low tier relics on display like they're the creator's spectacular works!" The old man answered as Artus realized that the man in front of him was exceptionally genuine and knowledgeable and displayed his listening on his face. The Sanguine Marksman's curiosity took hold of him. "Well— what do you know about artifacts and relics?" Artus questioned as if he was shockingly serious to Josue's old skeptic. The nitpicky older skeptic himself asserted that the Gen-Oath member in front of him was gullible. "I know that it says that these necklaces are imbued with the necessary essence to give you faulty telepathy, telekinesis and essence projection when worn, but you can enchant these for physical creation or to enhance mentifery while you naturally strengthen your vessel and cultivate latent talents from the fact that mankind had children with an ancient kingdom that perfected the mysterious, divine force and energy of an immature god's authority over entertainment as one final gift to spice up the earth and to help feeble men combat the endless realms filled with unimaginable monsters." The nitpicker answered in a genuine tone and smug grin.

The Sanguine Marksman glanced away as he repeated the old man's words back to himself. "You know all of that— how— if you don't mind me askin'?" Artus asked, confused. "I come from a poor family who've studied this stuff in the dewy eyed ages— I'm thinking of writing a guide book to help his plan." The old skeptic answered in a sketchy tone. Artus realized he'd heard something similar in his childhood. The Sanguine Marksman found himself wanting to hear more. "Well, don't stop there guy, tell me some more of this mess!" Artus shouted joyfully, truly wanting to learn more from the older man. "In this era, I've been observing, it seems another old man gave into an addiction we've all had once where we come from, giving us relic harnessers rather than merely various descendants of the realm's authority cultivators. Relic harnessers vary in strength and number but they can only be capable of as much authority as he had decided to give while being left with as many powers. Bastard made way too many, a catastrophic event is only a week away, I'd be hunting for him for this stupidity if there weren't someone who was far more worthy of my attention." The old man elaborated even further on the knowledge he possessed. Artus found it amusing. "Maybe hadt'a guess, it'd that the relic harnesser's power comes from whatever old item decided on, while the other thing—er, dudes— would it be pretty natural to them?" Artus asked after he snapped and had a beaming smile feeling confidently about his guess. The older man was taken aback, by the accuracy in his guess and unexpected engagement. "This one definitely has strong potential with his latent divine fortune, it seems he's only capable of conjuring with his inkling of authority yet he's able to pour the divine one's energy to make his weenie lead pellets strong enough to obliterate earth's original and yet unfortunately cursed creatures." The elder skeptic kept to himself as Artus went on talking as he smiled as if he were listening.

Meanwhile, a woman finds herself fascinated as she admires and spies on the Sangfroid Paragon leaning against a wall, who is occupied by his own thoughts at the moment and doesn't notice her, on his right. Lyle takes a breath in as he's finding himself bored and shuts his eyes. "If these relics are so valuable that it requires the second most elite squadron, why are they behind typical glass?" Lyle asked himself as he opened his eyes. The Sangfroid Paragon's moved his attention away from his ruminations of the many magnificent relics of Josue before the older, dark, tantalizing admirer introduced themselves to him. He glanced slightly down and saw a dark skinned beauty with eyes wide enough that there was no mystery in her eyes. The woman nodded and flirtatiously grinned. "Hello there, handsome!" Said the young woman, "Name's Bacia Durant." The young woman said in an alluring tone as she introduced herself. The Sangfroid Paragon slowly nodded. "Ok." He responded with awkward silence following momentarily as he continued stepping and she continued being at his hip. Bacia Durant was taken aback at his nonchalant attitude and seeming refusal to reply forcing her to put effort into keeping her composure. "Do you want to go somewhere and not speak with our tongues?" Bacia asked with a flirtatious whisper as she hopped in front of him. Lyle stood silent for twelve seconds as she was in his way. "Not much of a conversationalist on duty, miss." Lyle answered sternly without a second thought about his answer. Bacia gasped and unleashed a shriek before she moved her widened eyes to her right and her expression informing him she thought of something in the moment. "A servant of the public that doesn't understand social cues very well, huh?" Bacia questioned aloud as she scratched her chin confused by what she concluded. Lyle took ten seconds to reply as they continued moving. "I'd understand what someone actively walking away from me would mean." Lyle fired in return while he heard his follower. Bacia began giggling deviously. "I get it, you're on shift and you've got a duty but does this job offer breaks?" Bacia asked with a clueless tone. The Sangfroid Paragon waited ten seconds to reply. "No." He answered nonchalantly as he thought of ways to shake her tailing him. Bacia hid the boiling detestation for him that his rejection engendered from her face and body language. "Well, can I get ya name then, handsome?" Bacia asked, cooled down, "You'll live a wonderful life without it." Lyle answered once more, infuriating Bacia once even further. Bacia walked away with an attitude that reminded the sangfroid paragon of one of his former military classmates before the incident that split them all, not being able to handle the fact she got rejected, and the last guy who rejected her advances, was killed. Walking out of Lyle's hearing range, Bacia had coincidentally received a fairly timed call. "Move onto the big gullible seducable giant, Tiara." Bacia was ordered by the voice out of her own communicator before they swiftly hung up, Bacia grinned. Bacia immediately made her way to him and interrupted the conversation Artus and the skeptic from before were having, but she gained Artus' attention quickly. The grinning seductress journeyed through the museum for the ingenuous mark in question. "Do you mind if we talk in private, cutie?" Bacia asked in a similar seductive tone she tried on his brother earlier but this time with a shy giggle the towering soldier found too cute while he followed her finger, Artus unlike his brother immediately answered her "Yes, please!" Before they went somewhere private, Artus felt like he should wrap his arm around her, and he did. Artus led her to the storage room, which was guarded by security, Artus then grabbed out and showed his "Gen-Oath ID" showing that he's trusted and has authority from Josue, the guards allowed him and his guest entry without further questioning. Artus smiled and nodded. "Oh yeah, I'm kinda a big shot around here, lady!" Artus bragged as he walked with his arm around Bacia as she felt her arm up his lightweight armor.

Meanwhile…

A gentleman in a dark blue tuxedo and gathering the eyes of single women attending the relic exhibition in Josue's special museum turned his gaze towards the Bluestocking blade as she was waving at another woman. "Mon ange, that sword you got in hand there is all too fascinating, miss." The dashing honey blonde gentleman in the fine tuxedo greeted Ember, "Mind telling me about it?" He asked her. The man's friendliest voice, the way he approached with sparkling teeth raised one of her eyebrows, fortunately for her, she swiftly then realized that her helmet was still equipped after losing herself in his eyes. She didn't realize until a few moments later however, that she was stuttering as she attempted to reply. The Bluestocking Blade eventually took notice, immediately clearing her throat and vowed to not allow it a moment like she just experienced to happen again as she made sure to align her head and eyes with his own. "Oh, yeah?" Ember asked rhetorically, "What would a rusty tool like yourself know about swords?" She asked but with a much lowered tone. The honey blonde swordsman lightly chuckled before he displayed his overwhelming confidence through the grinning that followed a moment of him coming up with a response. "Maybe one day you'll underestimate me in a tournament and give me the honors of showing the megalopolises' voluptuous swordswoman when it comes to wielding a sword— or maybe she could lend me some of her time educating me on what she might know?" The man answered the mysterious Gen-Oath guard standing in front of him. Ember found herself irked by the confidence he displayed and his smug smile. "I bet you spell the letter R in saber before the letter E, don't you?" Ember asked with her usual smart-aleck tone. The queer honey blonde gentleman let a moment of silence appear using it to consider her question as he scratched his chin. "I have a feeling that you're pretty irked right now?" Dolion responded with interested brows. The Bluestocking Blade scowled with further silence. "I'm not curvy. This awkward moment between us should encourage you to walk away, dork." Ember declared and insisted before Dolion's chuckle in response to her insistence had her face flush red. The queer honey blonde swordsman reached out toward her for a casual handshake. "It's considered pretty courteous for the man to introduce himself first where I'm from— I guess. I'm Dollion C. Durant, and several time front cover model of the globally famous "Swords for Eccentrics!" magazine, lady." The blonde haired Gentleman introduced himself with a comforting smile as he pulled out an issue of the magazine from his back pocket and tried to shake Ember's hand with the other hand. The Bluestocking Blade glimpsed down at his magazine before as close to his eyes as she could manage. "Do you happen to carry around an issue of the magazine on you pretty consistently?" Ember asked with true interest. The queer honey blonde swordsman nodded gently as he glanced away from her. "Do you often casually strut around carrying a bastard sword on you at special events?" Dolion Fired back in the same tone. Ember stared up at him once more. "Hmmm— alright, please add more to your words, tell me something about swords that I'm not already aware of?" Ember challenged the queer honey blonde swordsman. Dolion sighed softly before nervously chuckling. "If I give you my favorite piece of sword knowledge, you're not going to accuse me of insulting your intelligence, will you?" Dolion questioned as he recalled a situation in his past. The Bluestocking Blade shook her head. "What's with the Nunchaku on your waist—?" Ember asked after she noticed them under his suit. The queer honey blonde swordsman but the right side of his lip yet kept his eyes planted on her. "Whoa, you noticed them?" Dolion asked rhetorically and nervously, "I didn't think you'd be interested." Dolion finished. "I'll find us a private spot if you give me a show, a demonstration of how dangerous they are in your hands." Ember stated as she got slightly closer. The queer honey blonde swordsman had a flirtatious gaze with his next reply. "Um." Dolion slightly grinned.

Meanwhile...

The Sangfroid Paragon  "For these to be valuable artifacts that Josue found on his travels, he must have surrounded them with tough glass, right?" Lyle thought as he couldn't figure out why Josue would put his quite possibly dangerous artifacts on display in the first place. Lyle took out his custom knife given to him by Professor Jikolson when he first arrived, the blade was said to be significantly stronger than all the metals on earth, but at first he tries to uppercut the glass, which proved his theory of the glass not being regular, then he attempts to cut into the glass with the blade but not even a scratch is put on it. Many weirded out citizens in the area stared at him, as if they were worried.

The curator chuckled and shook his head. "Yeah buddy, you are obviously new to this town." Rod said jokingly as he snuck up on Lyle again, Rod still didn't receive the reaction he had in mind. The Sangfroid Paragon turned his gaze. "Very." Lyle replied as he gave Rod a cold, intimidating stare. The curator's eyebrows flew up. "Oh, you really aren't from around here? One thing you should know about this place is that anything Josue personally invests in is literally top quality. Closest quality to indestructible." Rod informed the city's guardsman that the public acknowledged embodying an aplomb attitude. The Sangfroid Paragon shared a thumbs up as began walking away. "I... should go and find my siblings right about now." Lyle stated confidently and calmly. The curator waved him off. "I saw that petite sister of yours head upstairs, in case you don't know." Rod shouted slightly, suggesting before he felt awkward. Without uttering any further word, Lyle left Rod and made his way upstairs to check on his sister. He had to show his badge to fellow security first before they allowed him access, while upstairs, he had luckily guessed the 3rd room down the hall, which was the room they were in. The pair's gaze turned onto Lyle once they realized that he'd entered the room.

The couple's conversation was halted when Ember received a message on her communication device from Artus, requesting her downstairs to meet his new girlfriend. The Bluestocking Blade cringed at the thought before she showed his text to her brother. Even though Dolion couldn't see it, the queer honey blonde swordsman figured the Sangfroid Paragon was glaring as Lyle stood up straight and his head was directed at him. The queer honey blonde swordsman pretended to scratch his hip to cover up him caressing the pair of almost otherworldly nunchucks he kept. Lyle felt an unshakable abysmal feeling coming from the honey blonde that approached his elder sister. A man seeing through Dolion's eyes notices something unfamiliar happening with the honey blonde swordsman. "You've got feelings for the girl, don't you, simp?" The disembodied voice asked Dolion Durant. The honey blonde swordsman let out a low sigh. Dolion heard a chuckle from the fellow agent supporting his intelligence in his operation. "It should be easy work. Take him out then move on to the rendezvous point. Our informants hidden within the city have observed that he rarely ever uses his powers in fair fights. Take out the silent clown before catches on." The disembodied voice of his support suggested urgently.

Dolion turned his gaze with a grin that made Lyle uncomfortable towards a box that was golden with various unique gemstones decorating the exterior, Lyle's attention followed him as he relaxingly stepped towards it. The Sangfroid Paragon halted Dolion's plan to retrieve something out of it swiftly with his instantaneous movement and a flying punch out of the air after Dolion was within five feet and his fist slamming into Dolion caused him crashing through the second storage room's wall into the next. The queer honey blonde swordsman recovered from Lyle's blow and displayed an exhilarated grin afterward. "I'm going to quit trusting any physical judgement from you, Tama." Dolion mumbled under his brother in the process of forming a new plan. The mysterious honey blonde swordsman heard the disembodied laughter. "We're aware of his teleportation and still were caught surprised and jump scared from that blow." Dolion heard from his fellow agent. Dolion shook his head. The Sangfroid Paragon investigated his adversary's crate and found the fact that he was unable to open it fascinating. "How'd he smuggle this thing in here?" The born investigator asked himself. Dolion caressed the nunchaku he stored on his hip as he realized his assailant was distracted by his own curiosity regarding the box, his eyes shifted from hazel to gray as his lemon chiffon essence took the form of static electricity and sparked around him.

Meanwhile…

Ember finally stepped foot in the museum's basement, where Artus had directed her in his text to meet his girlfriend. Upon entering, she barges in on a woman with an uncanny tiara fitted on her head, softly kissing her younger brother on his helmet and figures that he was unconscious. The Bluestocking Blade holds total disgust and hostility on her countenance under her own helmet as she tries to make sense of the moment. Ember viewed the woman arbitrarily tossing a thumbs up in the air before she decided the woman was open after closely searching her from a distance and dashed in with her bastard sword tightly gripped prepared for a slash. The Bluestocking blade found that her legs were becoming incredibly weakened as she closed the distance, too weak to continue charging in and an increase in her heart rate, hot flushes and her body trembling followed. The Tiara adorn seductress stood up allowing the Sanguine Marksman crash onto the ground as she approached The Bluestocking Blade. "Your big brother was such a cutie, I couldn't resist him!" The tiara adorn seductress chuckled as Ember saw the mysterious woman who held her brother drop from her lap shift into a transmogrification as her legs give out.

Meanwhile...

"TAKE THIS!" Dolion yelled fiercely with an emphasis on the second word and as he dashed, intending to thrust his blade into Lyle's chest, "Failed!" Lyle replied as he reacted quickly, grabbing Dolion's wrist and twisting around, causing Dolion to grunt his knees.

Using the other blade in his free arm, Dolion slashed the wrist of the hand holding his own wrist, then jumped back, creating a distance between the two.

"How in the hell did my sword not penetrate your ravishing armor?" Dolion asked, a bit scared but totally confused, "Like someone told me, Everything Josue invests in, is invincible." Lyle answered, calmly and unafraid, unfazed.

"YOU THINK YOUR BOSS IS THE ONLY WITH A POWERFUL INVENTORY?!" Dolion passionately yelled before he started laughing, "Well mine does too, Imbecilic guard!" Said Dolion, before pulling down a sleeve to show he's been wearing a bracelet that reminded him of someone's necklace.

Energy in the form of tempered grey electricity that blanketed Dolion like an aura, as a crazily determined facial expression alongside it. Dolion's luscious golden hair adopted a tempered grey streak.

"We can go if ya like, but my speed has now been dramatically increased, I like to give my victims warnings first!" Said Dolion calmly even though his face was loud, "I will eventually tear through that winsome armor!" He yelled angrily, "Or I'll rip it off you and the rest of your team!"  Dolion reluctantly threatened, not changing his face.

"That girl's matching necklace, these guys must be organized thieves, Josue was correct for putting us on guard duty." Lyle theorized in his head as he gave Dolion a cold stare.

Lyle grabbed out his knife and prepared himself for a classic knife fight, but Dolion's speed proved too great for him. Dolion practically flew circles around Lyle all while Lyle tried his best to predict his next move, Dolion would sometimes slash perfectly where Lyle predicted but Dolion always dodged then slash elsewhere. After laughing at Lyle constantly, Dolion struck his strongest each hit, but the knockback of it all, was far more effective than his own attacks.

"His speed is similar to Ember's but I would have a better time of predicting her than this nutjob." Lyle figured half way through, and as he kept his guard up, protecting his head like he was trained, "Can't you see that you're my boss to yours?" Dolion asked, "You'll never defeat me!" Dolion finished confidently and smirked.

"I don't know who your boss is but the habit of badmouthing him isn't very professional." Lyle replied before he rolled away from Dolion's constant attacks, "Know what, we've been fighting long enough!" Dolion declared, "The heist men should be done with the job below. This could've been a fun fight. Bye." Said Dolion before rushing to exit by the window.

Dolion turned around and dived out of the window of the 3 story building, but he jumped from the 2nd floor.

Lyle quickly realized that he'll never be able to catch his swift fleeing assailant, instead, he rushed down to the Artifacts but instead of finding any missing or stolen as he was expecting, he described piles of bodies, a few his own men and others that of guests. He finds a note that reads: "Call the cops wouldja?" Which he listened to and called them. "Doubt is settling in." Said Lyle through his thoughts upon seeing the huge mess.

Previously...

Bacia grabbed one of her necklaces and held it tight. Ember grabbed her sword by the blade and swung the handle of it towards Bacia that she heard behind her, with the intention of subduing the tantalizing twin. "Do you always enjoy showing how empty-headed you are during a battle?" Ember asked, irked from her taunting. Bacia sang after her assailant witnessed her belly dancing. "Only against opponents that have zero chance of winning against me." Bacia answered calmly as she continued. Artus would be drooling if he was conscious.

Ember became furious by Bacia's cockiness. Her ego got on Ember's nerves. The Blue-stocking blade aggressively went on a rampage constantly going for swings but Bacia's teleportation was too instantaneous for Ember, Too fast for Ember to catch, and Bacia's predictions of where she'd swing were too accurate making it almost impossible for Ember as well to land anything.

Each time Ember would go in for an attack, Bacia teleported away, then teleported away more then back to taunt her. Finally after 12 minutes into the fight, Bacia tried attacking, tried using her daggers thinking the daggers would penetrate Ember's armor, she found out that she wasn't winning the fight herself either. Bacia let out a gasp when her daggers broke from the sheer durability of the armor protecting Ember's heart.

"Mmmmm, I don't really care if I win anyway, it gets me going to watch my opponents struggle to catch me, and not realize that their struggle is pointless." Bacia stated after being somewhat irked from not being able to win herself, she took pleasure in seeing her enemy struggle as much. She chuckled and Ember rolled her eyes.

Ember's frustration grew further as she continued trying to get a hit in, for her pride as a swordsman, she was determined to land just one. The game of cat and mouse went on with the two for quite a few minutes before Ember decided to take a break.

"You remind me of my brother, always thinking that speed and a sword can solve all of your problems. 'Least he can afford it." Bacia stated before she giggled, "Her brother?" Ember asked herself in her head, "She can't mean that graceful hunk, right?" Ember asked, feeling betrayed yet wasn't completely sure.

"Welp, Bye little miss!" Bacia said out of nowhere, before Bacia could teleport away, Ember stopped her and asked "Wait, what were your goals tonight?" Ember asked quickly, Bacia snuggled herself before she smiled the smile of someone who is cocky and answered.

"I might as well tell you, seeing as to how, you'll never beat me anyway!" Bacia started with an overconfident smile, infuriating Ember, "We were here for EVERY artifact that Josue had up on display." Bacia answered before giggling once more.

"Were…?" Ember asked, confused, "Yep, but our men should be done by now." Bacia answered, "Welp, Bye now!" Bacia said as she waved goodbye, however, before she could do anything, Bacia was shot in both of her shoulders speedily. Bacia fell to the ground, bleeding and unfortunately for her knocked off her focus, which was necessary for her to use her artifact which acted as her escape.

Lyle came down with some Generil paramedics that arrived and sprinted rushing in before him, with more paramedics taking care of those down above. "I knew they could do it." Lyle said in his head, "Now we have to catch that quick bastard." Lyle finished. Ember dismissed her sword and calmed down, while her irritation marked Artus as the target, "Damn it Artus, I was about to bring her in." Ember said out loud Irked.

"You're welcome, I did it for ya older sis!" Artus replied whilst lying down on the ground, and giving a thumbs up, still feeling the drawbacks of whatever Bacia did to him. Ember kept her irritated face on, but asked Lyle, "What happened with you and Dolion after I left?" hopeful expressed with her eyes that he answers what she wanted him to answer.

Lyle answered "He was a part of this attack, and he kept me distracted for a while by running circles around me, then bailed and headed out of the upstairs window." Lyle answered calmly. Ember said nothing back, and instead, turned her head as if she was thinking about something deeply. Artus paid attention to Ember as she asked about Dolion. "Anyways, we better check around for any clues left behind as an extra safety precaution." Lyle suggested, his siblings agreed.
