Heather stared at her father with such an expression of disappointment that everyone understood that her world, everything she believed in had just been scattered. Carter Red Creek's hands clenched into two fists and the respectable leader's expression he wore was replaced by a mask of arrogance. He clicked his tongue and fixed his tie.
"I did what I had to. I had to erase this mistake. This abomination should never have been born."
The female alpha's eyes widened upon hearing her father's words and tone. She turned her head to watch Glen's reaction but the dominant was standing, unfazed, his hand firmly clutching the bouquet of white roses. He was so quiet and calm despite the provocative and cruel words his father had just said that she realized how naive she had been. Heather lowered her heard.
