Kyla descended the stair in fresh clothes. She'd splashed water on her face and her hair had been pulled back in a ponytail. Albert had his back to her as he stood by the window, staring blankly at the street but he knew when she returned to the room.
"Say something," her voice croaked as she pleaded.
"What do you want me to say?"
"Anything."
Albert shook his head, dropping the blinds as he turned to look at her. He took in her appearance and swallowed back a scoff. She was human again, dressed in normal clothes and not covered in fur. No one would guess. No one would know...except of course she decides to surprise you. Like she did him a while back. And boy, was he surprised. "I don't know what to say to you."
A tear slipped through her lashes and flowed down her cheek. "I understand that you're upset. It wasn't my intention for you to find out this way."
