Kyla slammed the door of police chief McCarthy's office shut, after a twenty-minute-long futile meeting with him. She'd come to see him, hoping he would be able to fill in the blanks left in her grandfather's story. Especially the one about her parent's accident.
If there was anyone else who had the answers that she seeks, it was him. But the chief had pointedly refused to proffer the answers she needed.
He straight up told her to wait till her grandfather was ready to divulge the information because he'd already said more than he should have. Henson was angry with him and he wouldn't want to further ruin any chances of reconciliation that they might have.
She understood where he was coming from but that didn't help her. All her superhuman life, she thought she'd been turned by the person who attacked and killed her parents but things weren't as she'd known. And it sucked to be kept in the dark.
