The almost beastly way Kyla tore into the poor bagel she was eating, gave the girls the feeling that she was stuffing her mouth to clamp down on comments about Albert and her. The fact that he'd been blowing up her phone all morning, and she didn't even bother with answering or returning any of his calls, had them salivating for the gory details of what they assume to be a break-up.
"Here, have some." Tanaka pushed a glass of water towards her. "We don't want you choking on the food then dying along with the information we seek."
Gretel nodded.
"Wow." Kyla made a face at the both of them but took a gulp from the glass anyway.
"You were the one who got us out of bed this morning," Gretel said. "You knew what you were getting into when you called for us."
