After coffee, Kyla hugged her friends goodbye and headed to her vehicle which she'd parked by the side of the road.
She got in, shut the door, and fired up the engine. But just as she was about to pull out of the curb, she stepped on the brakes so quickly.
"What the--?" Her heart leaped to her throat, and she stared forward.
A tall figure blocked out the sunlight, one that was depressingly familiar. A wind blew, tussling his dark hair.
Delano moved to the passenger side and tugged at the handle. It was locked. He leaned and made a face at her through the window.
She blinked in deadpan, then frowned, unsure of why he wanted access into her car and why he'd just put himself in front of a moving vehicle. Finally, she pushed the unlock button and he came in.
"You mind telling me what this is all about?" she growled, glancing at him.
He looked out her windshield for a while as if keeping an eye on something.
