"You look nice," Albert smiled, leaning in for a kiss as Kyla stepped into the house.
"Don't I always?" she said lifted her shoulders casually but was pleased, grinning from ear to ear at the compliment.
She walked around the living room, studying the new artworks on the wall. They were Black-and-white charcoal prints of animals, farms, and houses.
"Settling in nice, I see," she said.
"Matthew hired someone to take care of the house and his special needs. I found her decorating the place this afternoon."
"Hmm. That's nice. Can we talk?" Kyla turned, watching as he walked over to where she stood.
"Yes, we can. But in the kitchen." he took her hand in his, laced their fingers together, and stroked the top of her hand with his thumb.
"Why the kitchen?" she asked, staring at the comfortable chairs around them.
