Chapter 7 - Chapter 07

Since his thoughts were in such a state, there was only one way to go forward here.

'I gotta level up.'

Indeed, he'd raise the Agility Stat through exercising. Every little bit he could to help. He would eventually need to use only stats points to increase his strength.

'In that case, shall we get started, then?'

A wonderful smile of confidence displayed on Aidan's face. Even at first glance, there must be over 10 of them here.

Aidan grasped the sword and spoke up "Calvin I'm going to need your help, just cover me" he glanced back at Calvin for assurance

When the chilling glare of Aidan glancing back at Calvin who was obsessed about surviving and on escaping, he knew they would escape out of this situation safely.

It was at this point that both Aidan and Calvin pounced on them without showing any sign of mercy.

With Calvin's new strength, after pouring ten points he had earned from leveling twice his strength had grown enough to send the wolves flying with his metal bat.

His stats were far higher than Aidan who didn't properly work out compared to Calvin who worked out constantly.

Novice Swordsmanship Has leveled up

Novice Swordsmanship has evolved to Basic Swordsmanship Level One

You've leveled up!

You've leveled up!

As he expected, his levels rose quite quickly.

Besides that, his movement speed had increased as well.

If it was in the past, there was no way he'd be able to lightly evade any of the attacks of an animal this large, nor could he swing his sword fast enough to slice a beast down.

Simply raising his Agility did not increase his speed by a large margin, but rather, it was as if the opponent's movement had become far slower. The battle against the wolves had proved this.

Simply from killing all the wolves he and Calvin encountered, Aidan level shot right up to 5.

After a heated battle, Aidan explained the main features of the system along with how leveling could help him grow stronger. He also invested 20 points into strength to balance out his agility.

'If both my Strength and Agility increase concurrently, the results will be incredible.'

The emergency staircase can go down to the ground floor. Aidan thought it would be a better choice compared to the elevator which was occupied with hundreds of employees who could be dead by now.

There would be less chance of the elevator door suddenly open and meet with an unwanted guest however he couldn't take the chance.

While inside the staircase, both of them wouldn't open unnecessary doors. Aidan was still on guard even with Calvin now able to use the newfound strength he didn't know what could come next.

When they arrived at their destination. The door opened up to reveal the underground parking garage. He couldn't help taking a peek as there was no one around. The place was completely dark.

It can't be, can it?

"Don't leave my side," Aidan whispered.

Calvin nodded back.

Aidan gripped the sword tightly with both of his hands slowly walking towards his car. Could he have been mistaken when he entered the garage?

He swallowed his dried saliva down, knowing fairly well it was too quiet, unable to see another person. He could not help notice the traces of blood smeared against the ground and walls.

The lighting was worse than he could remember, but there was no problem with which direction he was headed.

The problem was that he couldn't help but feel that the lighting had greatly been damaged on purpose.

Cautiously walking until eventually spotting his car in disarray.

No, what he saw was where the cars used to be, and now laid countless corpses lying on the ground. The smell of blood was enough to cause Calvin to almost vomit.

The garage that should've been fine was now filled with rubble and corpses.

'What is this?'

Just as Aidan took one more step forward to take a closer look

Swish!! What was that! Calvin shouted

At first, Aidan couldn't see a thing almost as if something was hiding within the shadows.

Eventually, he caught a glimpse of the thing that moved around them was none other than a snake with the size to rival a dinosaur.

Taken by surprise, Aidan could only pull the sword in closer and strike away at the snake.

Slash!!

Aidan's eyes opened wider.

He did succeed in hitting the lunging snake, but his steel longsword ended up cracking upon impact.

Calvin looked back in surprise, Aidan couldn't believe what he just witnessed.

The snake must've been surprised by his counterattack as well because it glared at him while readying itself for its next attack.

A red scarlet-scaled snake.

Aidan could see the scarlet scales on the monster.

It was a creature incomparably faster and far stronger than those he encountered up until now.

Aidan swallowed nervously and cautiously guarded him against the scarlet monster.

Red scales covering its entire body gleamed brightly. As if it had wrapped itself in flame, those scales were no joke.

Sword strikes wouldn't have worked in the first place if it hadn't been for him investing some many points into his strength.

The scarlet snake must've finished its own opinion on its Aidan because it finally lunged once more bearing its sharp fangs.

No matter how he looked at it. The scarlet snake was a frightening creature, why was there such a creature guarding this area?
