Joey was nervous and excited, she gather up her courage preparing herself for the disappointment too, fearing Lucas was once again teasing her.
Joey suppresses all her nervousness and excitement to finally click the button on the square gift box.
As soon as Joey click the button on the square box, it suddenly bolted out of her grasp landing in front of her forming a cute white puppy.
Joey and all the guests present at the party gasps. They were all astonished.
They couldn't understand how could such a puppy pop from such a small square box but they all forgot this when they saw such a cute puppy.
" woof, woof" white puppy barked as it look at Joey tilting its head.
Joey was instantly struck with its cuteness. She crouch down to touch and pet the animal but was stopped by Lucas.
" Stop,"
" Why cousin! isn't it mine," Joey confusedly asked. She was slightly aggravated.
" Of course, it is yours, It's just that you have to first put your fingerprint in its head and then name it. Only then will it recognize you as its owner and only your instructions will be followed by it." Lucas patiently explains the procedure and help Joey to own the mechanical puppy.
" Fingerprint?" Joey asks tilting her head. She look cute but this time no one paid her any attention instead all were focused on Lucas's words.
" No way! It can't be a robot right?"
" When did this model was released?"
" Now that we look at it carefully, this dog shouldn't be able to fit inside that small box, the only possible answer is, it really is a robot and formed from the box itself,"
Previously many were just surprised to see a cute puppy jumping out of nowhere, but now that they know it could possibly be a robot many were amazed and shocked silly.
It's not that they haven't seen any robots but to see such a real life-like robotic puppy was really amazing experience.
" Yes, fingerprint," Lucas affirmed.
" It is a robot, now come and put your fingerprint in it and make it yours," Lucas patiently explain the procedure and helped Joey to complete the procedure.
Joey quickly followed Lucas's instruction and completely own the puppy.
She named it "Snow" because of its white fur.
As soon as Joey complete the procedure, it's open its mouth and spoke. Literally spoke!
" Thank you, master, for giving me such a cute name. Snow hope to become best of friends with the master," Snow cutely thanked Joey blinking its black bead eyes and circling around her.
Everyone was once again dumbfounded. There are many products in the market but not this lifelike that it could even hold a conversation so fluently.
This Era is the transitional phase in technology. Humans are continuously trying to evolve. They are continuously trying to make things that could make their life easier, faster and more convenient.
In recent 100 years, Humans are in the process of entering the era of high technology( futuristic world) and now they are in a semi-futuristic world.
They are trying to make the best AI which could have a day to day conversations with humans so that an introverted person won't be lonely and this puppy was one of the examples.
This puppy could have small talks with its owner and protect its owner life when they detect any danger pointed at their owners. It can secretly monitor people too. It looks too real with its white fur and black eyes that people can't normally distinguish between the real one and a robot.
Its giveaway is that it could be detected by a metal detector and in today's world, you could find metal detectors everywhere otherwise it could act as a perfect spy.
" Cousin, you are awesome, thanks a lot," Joey excitedly hugged Lucas and thanked him for the gift. This time she was really happy.
" Cousin as far as I remember this product isn't available in the market. How did you get it? Is it sent by an uncle Eugene or you?" George curiously asked cutting down Joey's excitement.
His eyes were full of curiosity and enquiry.
But how could Lucas and any other clear-headed person not understand what George trying to say?
" Did he really do that? I don't believe that!"
" DID I hear it wrong or George is actually saying heir of Evans just gift the present prepared by his father in his name?"
" He shouldn't be. If he did that then it could be quite disappointing,"
" After all, he is an heir to the Evans name and family, his pocket money should be able him to buy a present for his cousin no,"
Everyone began to jabber when they hear George word. After all, the gift brought by him looked quite unique and hard to get.
" Well it's not solely prepared by me so I won't take all the credit," Lucas smiled as he replied. He looked kind of embarrassed as he looks at his aunt as if signalling her to salvage the situation.
His voice carries a hint of embarrassment too.
Luna secretly roll her eyes at her actor brother who was acting flustered.
" Is he serious?"
" Yes, how could he gift his father's gift in his name,"
" Well you could give after all they were from the same family but he should have at least mentioned it first and not taken all the credit,"
" All of you didn't seem to hear my brother correctly, he hadn't said it was given by him alone from the beginning to the end. So could you all deaf people clean your ears properly and listen to him" Luna couldn't help but be sarcastic.
She would have just let her brother handle all this nonsense but she can't sit around and let them bully her brother.
" Humph! They all are heirs to the many respected families but they couldn't even judge the situation what a shame!" Luna groaned making many angry and ashamed.
" Luna, calm down," Adrian patted her head.
Luna subconsciously nodded but she soon swatted Adrian's hand.
" Don't try to butter me up, my brother may be oblivious to your intention but you can't fool me," Luna exposed Adrian intention and plainly ignore him.
She would never let her brother be fooled by this wolf in sheep clothing person. She would protect her brother.
Exposed Adrian didn't even try to explain. He just chuckle and return his focus to his beloved Lucas who was busy looking flustered and poor.
"George, don't jump to a conclusion and everyone calm down," Maria first reprimanded George at least she showed.
" Did this gift send by my brother for Joey, if it was the case you should have told us sooner? All this embarrassment wouldn't have happened." Then she turned her focus to Lucas to 'help him salvage' the situation at least she didn't outrightly accuse of him being a greedy and immoral person for taking the credit for others'/his father's hard work.
At least her tone was soft but the words weren't matching her gentle behaviour at all.
Instead of calming the situation, she was worsening it.
Adrian was about to come forward but was soon stopped by when Lucas found what he was trying to do. Lucas motioned him to remain where he was.
Adrian was helpless but he comply after all he can't go against his beloved. What could he do if his action today anger his beloved so like an obedient husband he is he follows his beloved wish.
But he still gesture another person who was closed to them to his beloved side.
