"How long do you think it will take them to get here?" asked Enzo without taking his eyes off the second wall and the royal castle.
"Hmm...I'm not sure," Triven replied in a thoughtful tone, "There are multiple factors to consider. The size of the army, the supply lines, the number of monsters on the borders...It could take them a week, a month, three months, or even half a year."
"Tch. We can't hold out that long," Enzo clicked his tongue in frustration. He sighed helplessly and looked up at the starry sky. There were almost no clouds, the three moons were nowhere to be seen and the only light other than the stars came from the torches placed all around the wall.
"This isn't normal," Enzo sighed. He turned his back on the city towards the scorched battlefield, littered with craters and corpses. His sight was lost in that dark sea of trees, where tens of thousands of creatures waited for the right moment to attack.
