Karena was sitting in one of the armchairs on the right side of the room, next to the tavern's huge bookshelf, reading a blue-bound book with silver lettering. To her left was a small wooden table on which sat a long, empty crystal glass that moments before had contained her seventh drink of the night.
Although her face remained expressionless, her eyes reflected a faint glint of concern and impatience, which prevented her from concentrating on her reading. So she only managed to read a few pages before closing it and setting it down next to her empty crystal glass.
