The rain was falling hard against the rock walls and glass windows. Lightning flashed in the sky and the wind howled furiously. But inside the castle, all was quiet, almost as if the place were a graveyard. Meanwhile, a swift shadow crept furtively through the corridors.
'Wait a minute... I think I've already passed this way.' Marcus thought as he noticed one of the many wooden and steel doors in the hallway. He then decided to stop in a corner and check the blueprints of the place.
The Viscountess's abode was truly a maze. Full of corridors, passageways, chambers, and rooms. So, if one was unfamiliar with its structure, it was quite easy to get lost.
