Chapter 6 - Wind Wolf

Just looking at it, the Mystic Realm seemed endless.

Stepping into it, the ancient trees that had been growing for hundreds of years blotted out the sky and covered the earth. There were all kinds of weeds and thorns everywhere.

The withered leaves fell all over the ground, and the surrounding weeds were densely packed. Rustling sounds could be heard when one's feet stepped on the ground.

"How did I teleport to a deep mountain forest? The weeds and vines are also densely packed. I reckon that even if there's a Dire Beast hiding ten meters away, I wouldn't be able to see it."

Lorne was terrified.

He could not help but look at the patch of weeds in front of him. The weeds were so thick that they were almost half the height of a human. It was possible that there was a python hiding among the dense weeds. Lorne took a deep breath and stood where he was, muttering to himself.

"Explore!"

Suddenly, a light aura of power spread out in all directions with Lorne as the center.

"Within this 80-meter radius, there's a rabbit that can't even be considered as a white-graded Dire Beast and a few cauliflower snakes."

Lorne muttered.

The exploration skill could sense the shape and aura of creatures within 100 meters.

The school teacher had once said that powerful Dire Beasts could dive underground, and some high-level Dire Beasts could even disguise themselves.

Lorne did not act arrogantly, and he became even more careful.

Stealth, disguise, and the high-level Dire Beasts have intelligence recorded in the books are close to human intelligence. 'I can't relax,' Lorne thought.

Lorne quietly walked in the Mystic Realm's deep forest, carefully observing his surroundings. Lorne's figure gradually went deeper.

"The Academy's Mystic Realm is about seven to eight hundred square miles. In the outermost area of a hundred miles, there are usually White-graded Dire Beasts. If I go deeper than a hundred miles, there will be more Green-graded Dire Beasts.

"If you go deeper into the center, there will be a lot of Blue-graded Dire Beasts, and there might even be Purple-graded Dire Beasts."

Lorne thought about some information about the Academy's Mystic Realm.

Of course, this was not absolute. Perhaps a Purple-graded Dire Beast would wander around the outer area out of boredom, or it might run into a large pack of wolves. If that happened, it could only be said that you were unlucky.

Although the Mystic Realm was large, powerful Dire Beasts would have territorial awareness among themselves. They would usually not roam away often. Moreover, the academy would clean up the Dire Beasts above White-graded Dire Beasts regularly. Such a situation would not normally happen.

In the deep mountains and forests of the Mystic Realm, the dense ancient trees blocked almost all the raindrops. Only occasional raindrops fell. Lorne walked in the middle for a period of time, he also knew that this was the outer area of the Mystic Realm, so it was not dangerous.

Lorne exerted a little strength with his feet, and he gracefully jumped onto a branch seven or eight meters high. Lorne carefully looked into the distance.

After yesterday's improvement and his strong physique, Lorne's strength had improved a lot.

There was a wild boar ahead.

Lorne focused his gaze and saw a large wild boar carefully looking around, its body prostrating on the ground. If Lorne had not been standing high up, he probably would not have been able to see it at all.

[Steel Bristled Wild Boar, White-grade Dire Beast. Its attribute is the earth element, and its skill is steel hair spike.] Information regarding the steel bristled wild boar appeared in Lorne's mind.

The academy had a specialized class that explained the information about all kinds of known Dire Beasts, including their skills and weaknesses.

"Although it's only a White-grade Dire Beast, it can be used as lunch. The wild boar meat is still pretty good."

Lorne moved nimbly through the forest, quietly approaching the Steel Bristled Wild Boar. Because of the dense weeds and thorns, the Steel Bristled Wild Boar did not notice Lorne.

When he was close to the Steel Bristled Wild Boar, Lorne hid in the weeds, and through the weeds, he could vaguely see the Steel Bristled Wild Boar not far away.

"Whoosh!"

Lorne leaped out of the weeds like a dragon. When the Steel Bristled Wild Boar turned its head vigilantly, Lorne seemed to have descended from the sky and arrived in front of the Steel Bristled Wild Boar with a strong wind.

The Steel Bristled Wild Boar immediately roared, and its fur stood up like steel needles and aimed directly at Lorne.

"Ha!" Lorne had already prepared to wrap the thick grass vines around his right hand. Then, he grabbed the boar's head and forcefully lifted it.

The boar that weighed hundreds of pounds was lifted four to five meters high by Lorne. Lorne stomped on the ground and jumped up. His right leg swung out like a huge knife, it smashed into the boar's head like a thunderbolt.

"Bang!"

Along with the sound of bones breaking, the boar was kicked heavily into a big tree. Then, it fell heavily, and even the ground shook.

The Steel Bristled Wild Boar's skull had been shattered, and brain matter seeped out from the cracks in the skull. Blood continued to seep out of its mouth, and its four limbs trembled a few times before it stopped moving.

It was not difficult for Lorne to kill an ordinary White-grade Dire Beast just by relying on the strength of his body.

Lorne then took out the hand knife that he carried with him and very skillfully cut through the skin of the wild boar's thigh, cutting off four boar trotters.

After casually cutting down some branches, Lorne took out a lighter. In a short while, a ball of flame rose and set up a simple grill. Lorne began to roast the boar trotters.

After roasting two boar trotters, Lorne thought about the rest of the journey as he ate.

There were all kinds of plants in the Mystic Realm that had grown for many years, which made walking in it very troublesome. The most troublesome part was that they often had to climb over mountains or take detours.

At the same time, the most taboo thing in the Mystic Realm was to constantly make noises, which would allow one to be discovered by many Dire Beasts.

Even if you made any noises, you had to leave the place as soon as possible.

Moreover, even if you were injured, you had to try your best to cover up the bloodstains on your body. The smell of blood would also attract Dire Beasts.

The noses of Dire Beasts were much more sensitive than that of humans.

Lorne looked up at the sky.

The crowns of countless trees almost covered the entire sky. Seeing this scene, Lorne could not help but think of some common sense of living in the deep mountains and forests in the academy library. In such a place where even the sun could not be seen...one had to learn to distinguish north, south, east, and west.

Lorne was as agile as an ape as he crossed the messy branches and vines on the road.

The night was getting late, and the night wind had also cooled down.

It was late at night, and it was pitch-black.

Rustle, rustle, rustle...the sound of light limbs rubbing against the weeds could be heard.

Two strong Wind Wolves were quietly walking in the forest, one in front and one behind. These two Wind Wolves were covered in shiny green fur, and their green eyes were looking around vigilantly. Their strong and powerful limbs were quietly walking on the road.

The pale fangs faintly reflected a cold light in the dark night.

Lorne, who was originally sitting on the ground, suddenly opened his eyes and looked directly toward the south. However, the south was just a mess of thorny bushes. This was also the place Lorne had chosen to rest.

In the weeds or thorny bushes from the inside, ordinary Dire Beasts would probably not notice him even if they were close.
