Chereads / The Fallen's System / Chapter 10 - Suspicious Individual

Chapter 10 - Suspicious Individual

"Hero!" The maid knocked again.

"A-Ah yes!"

Creak!

Michael opened the door whilst buttoning his shirt to see a green-haired maid, the same maid who almost got her way with him.

"I-I'll be going now." Michael blushed as he passed through her and hastened his steps.

'So that's why the voice sounded familiar!' He exclaimed inwardly.

"Fufufu, the hero has no manners." The girl whispered underneath her breath.

Michael slowed down after taking a turn and composed himself. He fixed his collar and dusted his polo.

"I'm so pathetic." Michael sighed as he walked through the recently renovated hallways, akin to that of a hospital wall.

After a few turns, he had reached the dining room.

Michael's eyes widened at the sight.

"What the hell happened here?!" He shouted in shock. Which he realized he accidentally said out loud from the scornful looks from others.

The previous medieval design became a modern gothic look. The walls were pure white that had brown window and door frames to match the look with black extravagant designs. The room was fairly small, spanning only 5 meters with a 3-meter ceiling, but the layout and spacing of each piece of furniture made it seem spacious. The chairs and tables also had a modern look.

It was as if they were still on Earth.

"Michael! Here, I saved you a seat!" Zack called out.

"They changed the dining room also?" Michael said in disbelief.

"Isn't it obvious, you idiot?"

"Then let me rephrase that, wow this looks great it's unbelievable." Michael snapped back as he sat down.

"Don't be too hot-headed, it's just a joke," Zack said with a chuckle.

"Said the one that didn't help me up and left" He retorted.

"Said the sore loser." Zack refuted with a laugh.

Michael sighed, "Anyways, what do you want Chase?" he said, looking at the boy next to Zack listening intently.

Zack shuddered as he turned around, "Damn you scared me, how long have you been there?"

"Since the sore loser part. Here."

Chase smiled as he gave them two trays of food.

It consisted of rice, chicken curry, and sauteed vegetables.

"Even the trays have been implemented?" Michael asked in surprise.

"Of course, it was my request." Chase grinned.

"At this pace, after a few years, it'll feel like we never left at all.."

"I know right. What are the chances of a genius getting transported also?"

"Hazel Kenny, right?"

"Yup. Her smarts really helped the Reina Kingdom. It might even become the first modern society in the future," Chase explained whilst nodding.

"The girls are already helping tremendously, they're probably known worldwide by now!" He added.

"I may not look like it, but I've spent much of my free time on random knowledge. So I can also be of help to the kingdom." Michael uttered with confidence.

"School?"

"Um...Sorry for cutting in, but who are you?" Zack asked whilst he took a tray. "Thanks though."

"I'm Chase Soliel, 15 years old. Nice to meet you, Zack Grey." He smiled, putting his hand in front for a handshake.

"Or should I say, hero?"

"Nice to meet you too," Zack replied as he shook Chase's hand.

"But a hero is too much...You can just call me Zack or Grey."

"You better get eating, the afternoon run is an hour later, it's best to let your food get digested. Speaking from experience." Michael suggested before stuffing his face with food.

"Damn, I better take a bath then. I wouldn't even last a second in that heat." Zack sighed.

"My legs are heavy also. I'll join you."

"Baths?"

"Ah! The healing baths right?"

"You know, for someone who's weirdly curious, you're pretty oblivious," Michael said with skepticism.

"Well, I only pay attention to those who are interesting," Chase said with a grin.

"I'll get going now, bye," Michael said as he quickly stood up.

"I thought we we're going together?"

"You still have food on your plate, you'll get hungry later," Zack added after.

"I'll be fine,"

"And I still have stuff to do before training, I'll only be a quick bath," Michael replied with a smile before walking off.

Zack was worried but didn't pursue the matter. He trusted Michael, and if something did happen to him later, he would have brought it upon himself.

''It has more information now..."

"But he's still using a skill, just what is it?"

"What skill allows him to use it without us noticing? Is it a buff type?"

"But then again if it's a buff, he shouldn't be able to keep it on for that long.."

"Nor any skills in that matter…"

"He only has a 30 intelligence back then, so even if it improved by leaps and bounds, it won't be enough for him to be able to keep it on for that long…Or is it?"

"But 10 minutes is a little unbelievable…"

Michael let his thoughts run wild, uttering them out loud as he exits the room, making sure no one is around. He didn't want to reveal it to others neither does he have any reason to. It might even make trouble for him in the future.

He spent the entire stroll trying to find an answer or at least be able to form a solid theory about it but to no avail. He didn't have enough leads or information thus not being able to come up with a solution.

In the end, he concluded it as a passive skill.

Michael snapped out of his daze and realized he was in front of the bath and entered.

The room was separated into two compartments; the locker rooms (previously wooden basket/drawers) and the bath themselves. The tiled pool with a light yellow hue was then split, the healing on the right and normal water on the left. The water is being directed by copper pipes, with the healing one filled with green crystals making the watercolored transparent lime.

The room had a 10-meter width with a ceiling as tall as the dining room.

He turned out to be the first one there which he liked.

Michael is used to bathing alone.

He then took off his clothes, revealing a slightly pale but lean body. A big difference to his build before. From his smooth stomach and thin arms, now had abs and biceps.

He opened his locker and put his clothes in, putting them in a slimy pocket.

Inside the locker were slimes known for their cleaning capability, commonly known as janitor slimes.

"I've gotten bigger,"

"How is this possible? It's only been three days…" Michael wondered.

He shook his head and sighed before soaking and sitting down on the bath.

The temperature was evident from the heavy mist.

"Damn, this feels good."

After the water had touched his skin, the bruises slowly healed along with the scars. Michael was a clumsy kid, so he had a couple, but by now 60% of them are gone because of the bath. The fibers of his broken-up muscles had also started regenerating stronger than before. It was the reason his body has changed so much.

With the healing capabilities of the bath, his muscles can be broken up more than a normal person would back on earth.

Michael took a deep breath then soaked his face under the water, flipping his hair as he raised his head.

"Haha, what am I doing?" Michael chuckled.

He then looked at the tubes and noticed the faint light in them.

'Will this work?' Michael thought to himself as he used (Thorough Analysis).

[ Durable Copper Pipe ]

[ Lesser Healing Crystal ]

[ Lesser Healing Crystal ]

[ Healing Crystal ]

[ Medium Healing Crystal ]

[ Tainted Water (Healing) ]

The messages appeared on his retina along with the miscellaneous information that was sent straight to his head.

"So the crystals work like lollipops? That explains why the bits are smaller inside than the ones near the entrance." Michael took a mental note.

'I noticed that the information sent to my brain is minimal and textbook knowledge. It doesn't give me any extras such as the durability and materials used on the item.' He added inwardly.

He had also observed that the skill didn't tire him out as much as it did on his first day.

After a few minutes, he heard the footsteps of what he assumed were his fellows. He stood up and quickly patted himself dry with the towel inside his locker and dressed up.

His clothes were the same as earlier but they now look brand new as he took them out of the locker.

He hid behind one of the lockers and exited as soon as the others came in, trying to avoid any conversation or death stares. He was tired and wanted to save his energy for the afternoon training.

He hastily walked through the hallways, wanting to lay down on a bed as soon as possible. Nothing beats an afternoon nap after a bath.

But unbeknownst to him, a mysterious person was watching over him.

"It should be soon now.."

"A green skull, how exciting!"
