Afterward, I put my dress back on, touched up my makeup, and left the washroom. Exiting the cafe, I got into my car and called Rohan. "Ro, I need to tell you something. Please come to my place."
A few minutes into my drive, I received a message from the board of directors: "Meeting within half an hour at your office."
Rohan called back immediately. "Don't panic. We'll handle the situation. Just be there on time."
"Okay," I replied, trying to steady my nerves.
When I arrived at the boardroom, all the members looked at me as if I were a culprit. The chief general questioned, "Where were you today?"
I replied, "That's quite personal."
He responded, "You were warned not to meet Aryan, right?"
"Yes," I confirmed.
He displayed a picture of Aryan and me on the projector. I looked at the image, "I was told to avoid any further contact with him, which I did."
"Then what is this?" he asked.
"He requested to meet me. He needed to talk," I explained.
He called Aryan into the boardroom. "Did you force her to meet you?"
Aryan replied, "No, why would I force someone? She had a choice."
The chief general looked at me. "Do you have any proof?"
"Yes, sir. Can I call Rohan into the room? I will need his help to present the proof."
"Yes, please," he replied.
Aryan interjected, "But sir—"
The chief general cut him off. "There is no scope for 'but.' If you're right, what's there to fear?"
Rohan entered the room, and I instructed him to connect my phone to the projector. I presented the messages between Aryan and me. "Look at these messages carefully."
The chief general replied, "Yet this doesn't prove he insisted."
I continued, "I have another piece of evidence that will clear all doubts and prove he did everything purposely."
I showed the video of our conversation at the cafe. After listening to the conversation, the chief general was stunned. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it was my duty. I hope you understand."
The chief general apologized. "No...No, it's okay. I understand," I replied.
Aryan was shocked to see the video. The chief general turned to him, "What is this? I want an explanation. You are being terminated from the office permanently on the grounds of framing your boss."
Aryan was in a state of shock, trying to comprehend what had just happened. He hadn't expected this outcome.
I left the room, leaving Aryan to grapple with the consequences of his actions.
